Barbara gordon is lowkey the epitome of how women irl get treated, like people expect her to learn how to live with her trauma especially when she became paralysed suddenly, and they never give her any sort of grace or understanding as to why she isn’t acting like the happiest most understanding person ever, the thing is i feel barbara already struggled with things like her self esteem before becoming batgirl, and then she found out she can create an alter ego and become this new cool vigilante, but then she became paralysed and now she doesn’t know how to go from here, she doesn’t feel as useful as she used to be, she watches all her close friends still being able to fight and fool around on rooftops and do all the things she was doing as batgirls while she is kind of left behind, yet people expect those things not to bother or affect her, but a male character would stab his finger as a child and some fans would post it on here and say ‘oh my baby went through a lot idk how he moved on from it’.
