This looks brilliant......
To pay for an engagement ring, he was forced to sell a 1969 Ford Mustang he had spent years restoring, but even marital bliss couldn’t wrench his thoughts away from the car he had loved and lost. So he set about recreating it in painstaking detail, using paper and a colour printer, working from the memories of his beloved vehicle. - itsnicethat

After several months of gathering 'bits' my 30-year-old Raleigh Twenty (Stowaway) Fixed Gear Masterpiece she is back on the road and has been for the past 3 weeks. Although its low geared which means my legs have to go ten to the dozen to go a modest pace, it handles wonderfully, took a couple of rides getting use to but I love it and commute 50 miles a week on the green machine. I’ve replaced the toe lashes with clips for my SPD's (not in the above image), replaced the front brake pads and have reused the original brake lever and calipers which work well enough as I can slow down rapidly with my legs due to the low gearing, so I tend not to use the brakes as much. I had to keep the kick stand as its pretty gangster parked up out side the local happy shopper and if someone tries to steal it they will have a nasty shook when they try to coast.
wish I could got to this - http://typolondon.com/ Let me know if you do and how it was..
Phase 2.2: Near Ridable Ok, so I got the wrong size of tyre that delayed things a little, il edit my previous post with the link to the correct tyre to fit the rim in question. Taking advantage of the bonus weather, I stripped my Twenty down (had been longing to do so but not permitted due to time), cleaned her up, stuck my new wheels and drops on and she's not looking to shabby. I was toying with the idea of keeping the chain guard but I prefer it without and can do without the added weight. Having removed the chain, I cleaned the front chainring, the 20+ years of grime preserved it well is it came up brilliantly chrome, il be replacing it once I'm board of the ratios and the Stowaway has been on the road a while. Tyres are in the post, I got the inner tubes (hopefully the correct size), il just need a new chain, steal the pedals from the Langster and slap on an (emergency) front brake and I'm off.
