HE DATES YOU FOR A BET
As promised, hereâs Osamuâs edition of the âdating you for a betâ fic
Atsumuâs and Sunaâs part here
As you ring the doorbell to your boyfriendâs house, youâre greeted at the door by his twin. Nodding at you, he lets you in and calls out to Osamu.
âSamu! Yer lovers here to smother ya!â You laughed at Atsumuâs antics while he sent you a sly smile looking at you from the side. âWell, Iâll leave ya to it then,â he says as he makes his way back to his room. As he entered, your boyfriend made his way out, sending his brother a halfhearted glare before his face brightened seeing you.
âHey babe!â He pulled you into him, placing a kiss to your lips. You wrapped your arms around his torso, rubbing his back.
âWanna make brownies? Iâve been craving them,â you asked pulling away, forehead meeting his. Nodding he smiled excitedly.
âHeck yeah! Weâre not sharing with Tsumu though,â he muttered at the end. Giggling, you dragged him to the kitchen to get started. Just as you both were about to begin cracking the eggs, the doorbell rang again.
âYou expecting more company?â You turned to him while he looked at you confused.
âNo?â As you were about to open your mouth, Atsumu called from their shared bedroom.
âItâs Suna! Get the door ya dumbass I canât leave the game!â Rolling his eyes and grumbling to himself, your boyfriend signaled for you to wait a minute before making his way to the door. You heard them exchange quick greetings before Suna is on his way to the bedroom and Osamu returns to the kitchen where you are. Kissing your cheek, he begins to make the batter with you.
An hour of making a mess and getting flour all over each other later, the brownies are in the oven and your hugging Osamuâs waist while he washes the dishes. Pressing kisses to the muscles on his back, you speak up.
âBaby, weâll be at our six month mark soon,â you sigh contentedly. You feel the vibrations from your hand on his chest as he hums.
âHalf a year huh? âM glad ya stuck with me, even if itâs only to eat my food,â he teased. You pinched his arm lightly.
âDonât be mean Samu! You know I love you,â you protested as he chuckled. âIâve never been serious about someone before. At least not like this,â you mumbled softly into his shirt. Spinning around, he pulls you against his chest, kissing your head.
âGood. The only person ya need to be serious about is me anyway.â Pinching your cheeks, he placed another kiss on your lips. âCan ya grab my phone for me from charging in my room? Iâll finish cleaning up here.â Nodding, you made your way to his bedroom, about to open it when you heard the sound of your name come from the two boys lounging inside.
âSamuâs been bugging me about help for ideas for their 6 months,â you heard Tsumu say. A snort is the only response Suna gives before actually speaking up.
âWasnât it supposed to be two months? The bastard falls too easily for his own good,â Suna snickered.
âYeah, guess thatâs what happens when youâre the ânice oneâ. If he thinks heâs getting anymore money off of us for the extra months though, heâs got another thing coming,â you could hear the sounds of game controllers being pressed as they play, laughs being exchanged about your relationship.
âYeah, for real. The bet was to date for two months. Iâm not paying anything extra for the other four,â Suna agreed. Backing away from the door, you quickly made your way to the bathroom, tears filling your eyes. Bet was all that was ringing through your head. A bet. Osamu was dating you for a bet. After youâd just told him he was the first person you were serious about, youâd come to the realization that the only thing that led him into your life was a silly little joke at your expense. Gripping the sink tightly, you thought back to all the times youâd thought you were special to him, the times he learned to make a dish he knew you liked, the times he skipped practice to walk around the park with you, the times he gave you his jersey to wear at games so people knew you were there to cheer for him. But they were all a sick show to get you to stick around for two months so he could get extra money and bragging rights. He was only dragging it out to get more cash out of them, or worse, to make you look even more a fool for the laughs. It felt like the world had stopped. With your cheeks wet with tears, you placed a hand over your mouth to muffle the sobs. Just when things couldnât get worse, you heard Osamu call your name.
âY/n? Where are ya babe?â You heard his footsteps as he checked around the house for you, finally stopping in front the bathroom door. Knocking, he called for you again. âY/n? Ya okay babe! Yaâve been in there for a while,â he asked, concern lacing his tone. Fake concern you reminded yourself.
âFuck off Osamu, leave me alone,â you shouted through tears.
âBabe? Whatâs wrong? Whatâd I do?â You only sniffled, sliding down the wall and crying into your knees. You couldnât open the door and face them. All three of them, staring at you with amusement while they laughed, laughed at you for believing he could ever like someone like you, laughed at you for thinking you could have scored someone like him, and laughed at you for being such a lovesick fool. Sobs increasing in volume, you shook with each one. From the other side of the door, you hear Osamu shout. âHey! Whatâd ya two dickheads say to y/n? Iâll kill ya both!â Pretty soon, two more fists were pounding on the door.
âY/n? Itâs me Tsumu, whatâs going on?â
âCome on out y/n, Samuâs worried sick,â Suna called out after. Lies. Theyâre lying to you, you told yourself. They couldnât ever be worried for you. Trying to collect yourself, you stood up, rinsing your face and getting ready to greet the three faces that haunted your thoughts so you could shove past them and go home. The second you opened the door, two muscular arms wrapped around you. But you shoved Osamu off, death glaring him before moving on to his friend and brother.
âStay away from me. All of you,â you said coldly, eyes narrowed at them. Osamu looked at you in bewilderment, hurt flashing across his face, before you caught a look of understanding flash across Sunaâs.
âWait... y/n, what me and Tsumu were saying, you donât understand,â but you held a hand up for him to stop.
âI understand perfectly fine Suna, donât worry about me. You three have your fun and get a good laugh out of me, why donât you?â Atsumuâs eyes widened, as he began to understand what was going on as well.
âY/n-â
âShut up! I donât wanna hear it!â Osamu looked between all of you, overwhelmed by his confusion.
âWould ya two idiots explain to me whatâs going on here? Whatâd ya do to y/n? I swear Iâll kill ya both,â but you cut him off. Hatred and anger radiating off of you, his heart sank at the look.
âDonât you dare pin this on them you asshole. I canât believe youâd waste my time for a quick buck. And laugh at me behind my back. Werenât you raised better than that you jackass?â He looked at you, panic setting into his features.
âW-wait, y/n! I swear itâs not what ya think!â Osamu tried to reach for you, but you slapped his hands away. He looked at you, expression broken.
âHeâs right, we werenât laughing at ya! Honest!â Atsumu tried to vouch for his brother. Just as Suna opened his mouth to add on, you cut him off.
âI donât care. I donât want anything to do with the three of you ever again. Stay away from me. Stay away from my house, stay away from my friends, and stay away from me on all my socials too! I never ever want to see you ever again Miya Osamu,â you spat. Shoving past him, you grabbed your things, walked out the door and slammed it shut, leaving Osamu standing and staring at where you were just a moment ago, tears slipping down his face.
After blowing up your phone nonstop, youâd blocked all three of them on everything, wishing to cry into your pillow in peace. Your family had gone out for the evening, so you were home alone. Just as you had gone back under the blankets after putting your phone down, your door creaked open, revealing your ex boyfriend. He stared down at his feet as you death glared him.
âHow are you even in here?â You asked with narrowed eyes.
âYa told me where your spare key was before,â he whispered.
âOsamu, get out of my house. I donât wanna see you, okay? Iâm done with you,â you spat, venom lacing your tone. His lips trembled as he walked closer to you.
âY/n, please let me explain? We... weâre about to hit our six month, and I donât want-â
âI donât want to hit six months with you. What I want is for you to leave me alone and let me forget about you!â
âNo! Please, I donât want ya to forget! I love ya, I know it looks bad, but I love ya so much, please, we donât have to end this,â he begged, tears running down his face as he looked at you desperately.
âOh we donât? You put a price tag on me, sat through two months with me with the intention to break up with me and break my heart, let your brother and friend laugh at my naivety for god knows how long, and suddenly thereâs no reason for us to be over?â Shaking his head, he reached over, but once again, you shoved his hands away. âDonât touch me,â you spat. He sobbed at your tone.
âNo, I swear, I never planned on breaking yer heart. I was being a jerk by accepting the bet, but I really liked ya! I still do, I love ya. I never wanted to break up with ya, and I didnât take the money. I realized it was a dick move!â
âOh thank god! Nice guy Miya Osamu realized how much of a dick he was being! Iâm so glad youâve come to your senses Samu, youâre truly such a great guy,â you sarcastically bit back at him. âDo me a favor and go bet on how long itâll take me to forget I ever loved you in the first place.â Kneeling in front of your bed, he sobbed into his hands.
âPlease, please donât leave me! I donât want ya to go, I want to be with ya forever. Please just donât walk out on me, baby please,â he looked at you, eyes glassy and face red.
âDonât ever call me baby again, you hear? Now get out!â
âNo! Not until ya forgive me, and tell me yer staying. Iâll apologize in front of Tsumu and Suna. My whole team if ya want. Just donât leave me. I canât handle losing ya, or watching ya move on! It hurts too much to think about,â he grabbed your hand, holding onto it desperately.
âAnd you donât think it hurts to hear them laugh that youâve been planning our six month out like it was some dumb joke? How shallow can you get?â His head found its way into your lap, crying into your blanket as he chanted Iâm sorry and please forgive me over and over again.
âI can make it better, I swear. Iâll be perfect, everything ya want me to be, please can ya just give me another chance? I donât wanna break up, I donât wanna,â he asked you, lips quivering and tears rolled down his face. He was trying to control his breathing as he waited for your response. You knew you shouldnât, but it was taking everything in you not to reach over and wipe his tears, heart throbbing at the sight of him so upset. But you couldnât stop thinking about the conversation youâd overheard.
âOsamu, Iâm not letting you use me to get more money, so just forget-â
âItâs not for money! Itâs not! Ya can have it, ya can have all of it if ya want. Iâll buy ya gifts too, every day, if thatâs what ya want. Hell if I donât do anything ya want, just say youâll stay.â You sat there silent, trying to think what you were supposed to do in this situation. You wanted to shove him out your room and tell him to get lost, but at the same time, you couldnât think about a future that didnât involve him. Osamu was your sweet boyfriend, who was gentle and soft, always paying attention to details and making you feel seen. You wanted to believe it was real. Staring at you hopelessly, he choked on another sob. âY-y/n? P-please,â He whispered out. You sighed, mentally kicking yourself for not being able to hold your resolve. Resting a hand on his cheek, you rubbed a thumb over it.
âWhyâd you do it Samu? Whyâd you accept?â Breath hitching, he clutched the wrist of the hand that lay on his cheek tightly.
âTh-they were saying th-that ya wouldnât say yes. Th-that ya wouldnât want me. I-I wanted to prove I could get ya to say yes. B-but not for their damn bet, itâs because I liked ya, so much! I never wanted to break up with ya, please believe me,â he cried. Feeling a small part of your heart shatter, you leaned over and pressed a kiss to his forehead, causing him to choke on another sob.
âSamu, you canât hold bets on things that involve peoples feelings, no matter how pure your intentions are,â you said softly.
âI know! I know that now, so please can ya-â
âItâs okay. Iâm not gonna break up with you, but Iâm not gonna let something else slide again after this okay?â Nodding furiously, he looked up at you. He climbed onto the bed, all but throwing himself onto you. One hand in his hair while the other rubbed up and down his back, you shushed him as he cried.
âI wonât let ya down, I wonât, I promise!â Kissing his head, you pulled the cover over his body, trying to soothe his cries.
âOkay Samu, I believe you. Donât let people tell you that I wouldnât want you, youâre a wonderful guy, but you shouldnât let people persuade you to do things that are low to prove a point okay? I love you baby.â
âI love ya too. Iâll be a better man for ya,â he whispered into your chest. âAre we still gonna celebrate our six month?â Chuckling, you nodded.
âYeah, we will.â Nodding, he relaxed a little. After a bit, he spoke up again.
âHey y/n?â Looking down at him, you hummed.
âYeah baby?â
âThe brownies got burnt.â Pouting, you pinched his cheek.
âWell you better make me more because I really wanted some.â
Well this sucked. Anyway I should really finish my homework but I only have one more thing left and I am stalling now.
Why have I been reading so much angst whats wrong with me

Osamu
âSamu Iâm making dinner soon, what do you want babe?â You looked at Osamu expectantly, but he only grumbled something under his breath as he continued to look over his journal with his earnings of the week. Work at the restaurant had gotten more hectic for Osamu, and while his business growing made you both overjoyed, the stress that came with it was beginning to pile up on your poor boyfriend. Evidently, the stress was beginning to follow him home as well. âSamu? Baby, did you hearââ
âGoddammit y/n, yes I did! Just make whatever ya want,â he snapped, huffing as he continued to total his revenue for the week. Frowning, you quietly made your way to the kitchen, deciding to just make something you knew he liked and let him cool down. But thirty minutes later, dinner plated and ready, he was still just as irritable as before.
âSamu, dinners ready,â you called. He grumbled incoherently, still writing away at his journal. You waited around for a bit before calling out to him once more. âSamu itâll get coldââ
âThen eat without me,â he glared. Furrowing your eyebrows, you glared back.
âOsamu, thereâs no need to be so rude. Your restaurant being stressful isnât my fault okay?â He narrowed his eyes, jaw clenching tightly.
âYa wouldnât understand y/n okay? Let me do my damn work and ya go be annoying someplace else.â This time, the anger rose tenfold at his words.
âDonât speak to me like that, stop being a dick because you canât handle a little extra work here and there.â
âA little extra work huh? Yaâd know a lot about that Iâm sure,â he spat back.
âYeah I would actually, who supported the two of us more when you invested all your savings into the restaurant? Didnât see me snapping at you like a bitch when I worked more hours now did you?â He stood up, hands slamming on the table, eyes cold and distant. They bored into you, so unlike his usual soft expression.
âDid I ask ya to? Donât act like I was some helpless charity case ya helped stand back to his feet. I was fine without yer help,â he claimed, voice rising in volume with each sentence. Hands pressing themselves to your hips, you grit your teeth.
âYeah, you were, but I was looking out for you. And I didnât take the stress out on you when I was. Youâre doing your own work and your acting like itâs my fault you have to do so many things. Iâm not here for you to take your frustrations out on, okay?â It seemed this was the tipping point for him, as he shoved his chair aside, knocking it over as he stomped his way over to you. With each step he took, you shrunk back a little, his veins popping more and more as he got closer.
âYa listen here y/n,â he screamed, making you huddle against the wall. But that didnât stop him from getting louder, yelling as he looked you straight in the eyes. âIâm not about to come home after a long day, hear ya yap away about pointless things, and then hear ya scream about me beinâ frustrated!â His voice booming in your ears from such close proximity made you flinch harshly.
âS-Samu, quiet down, you donât have to shoutââ
âShut up y/n, everythingâs always about ya, âSamu thisâ and âSamu thatâ always rambling about yer day as if I havenât had one too! Shut yer damn trap for once âm tired of hearinâ ya!â Eyes filling with tears, you began to breathe heavily at the way he only seemed to be getting louder, almost looming over you as he screamed about your flaws. Your breath began to pick up in pace as you clumsily tried to wipe away the wetness streaming down your cheeks.
âStop it Samu, youâre being soââ
âAww what? Am I beinâ to mean to ya? Canât handle a little sass back when ya hand it out first? Leave then! The doors right there! Whatâs stoppinâ ya huh?â
âSamu stop!â
âShut up y/n, shut up!â
âYouâre taking this too far!â
âYer the one who started this! Donât cry to me cause ya canât handle it!â You were on the edge of hyperventilating now, trying to compose yourself. But Osamu didnât seem to care, only continuing his screaming. âYer sittinâ here cryinâ over a fight ya started! Ya canât see I wanna be left alone in peace as I work? Leave if ya donât like it, the doors right there or are ya too stupid to see that too? Nothinâs stoppinâ ya okay? I donât need ya stressinâ me out even more after a long day!â His words were too much to handle in the moment, the only thought in your head that you needed to get away. But just as you moved to walk past him, his hand came flying against the wall a foot or so away from you, slamming against it in frustration, startling you once again as you flinched harder. Slowly, the corner of your eyes began to go black as you closed them and slid down the wall. Osamu stared at you with wide eyes, unable to process what happened.
Soon enough, you regained consciousness, tucked under the sheets of your bed as Osamu sat beside you. Slowly blinking your eyes open, they widened when they registered he was there before slowly turning away from him.
âY/n?â He whispered your name gently, hand placing itself on your shoulder. But to his dismay, you flinched, making his heart tear and eyes water.
âPlease go away Osamu,â you whispered.
âBaby, howâre ya feelinâ?â
âLike I need to be away from you right now.â He exhaled shakily before blinking back his tears.
âDonât say that baby, please donât say that.â His tears came back though, once he heard your sniffling.
âYou were so awful to me, I just wanted to have dinner with you. I donât get it, why would you speak to me like that? Your store being stressful is tough, I get it, but I have long days too. We donât see each other all day, I wanna relax with you. And you sit there and just glare at me and say things under your breath like you donât wanna be around me. Whatâre we doing together if we just sit there in separate rooms during our only time to spend together?â His heart stopped for a moment, anxiety creeping in at the thought of you leaving. He couldnât handle that, not you walking out. You leaving would rip away too much of who he was, leaving him a shell of himself. He wouldnât lose you, he couldnât.
ââM sorry y/n, I shouldnât ever let my stress get to me like that. Ya donât deserve to have me snap at ya, yer my sweet baby, I didnât mean it.â Hugging yourself as you lay with your back to him, you tried to stop the tears that flowed down your face. He waited for a moment for you to say something, but you didnât seem to have anything to respond. âY/n? Baby?â His hand found its place on your shoulder again, this time, to his relief, you didnât flinch. âIâm sorry y/n. I really am. I swear nothinâ like thisâll happen again. I appreciate ya, how ya took care of me when I took a risk with the restaurant. I love ya and how ya ramble on about cute little things, it makes me feel less alone on bad days. Iâm sorry, please donât be mad,â he said softly, voice cracking at the end. âWeâre good together, I promise, it was just a bad fight, it wonât happen again. I promise ya it wonât happen again.â
âYou donât seem to want me around anymore. And Iâm tired of feeling lonely. I donât like the feeling of being treated like Iâm someone intruding when Iâm in my own home.â His palms began to get clammy at your words, refusing to believe this might mean the end.
âI know baby, and âm sorry, I am. I swearââ
âYou told me to leave.â
âYa know I didnât mean that.â His voice was pleading, begging you to see it was a mistake.
âI just wanna be alone right nowââ
âPlease no,â he whispered. âI... please donât leave. I promise it wonât happen again. Iâll be better okay? Iâve been takinâ ya for granted, and Iâll fix it, but weâre still okay, me and ya. Weâre okay y/n, tell me weâre okay.â Finally, making his chest lighten considerably, you slowly turned to face him, inching closer to his body.
âYou scared me, you know.â A tear slipped past his eye.
âI know. Iâll never forgive myself for it. But it wonât happen again okay? I love ya,â he offered hopefully. You buried yourself into his chest.
âI love you too Samu. I know the restaurants getting kinda hard to manage, but Iâm proud of you okay? Youâre doing great.â He let out a watery chuckle, sniffling as he buried his face against your head.
âAs long as I got ya, Iâll always be great.â
Semi
Semiâs guitar being slammed down could be heard all throughout your apartment, making you snap your head up. Recently, heâd been going through a bit of a block, unable to participate as much in the songwriting process as the rest of his band members. With an upcoming album to be released, and a pushy producer breathing down his neck, he wasnât exactly doing too well in the stress department. Youâd been trying your best to be accommodating for him, heart aching every time you saw his under eyes, feeling bad he was being demanded of so many things left and right. You made dinner more often, took over most of the cleaning, and pushed him to take care of himself more as heâd begun to neglect himself in favor of work. Still, you couldnât help but miss your boyfriend, wishing heâd take a moment to relax, to take a break and spend some time with you for a change. Quietly making your way over, you peeked into his music room.
âEita? Everything okay?â Sighing heavily, he buried his face into his hands.
âNo, everythingâs not okay. In fact, everythingâs wrong, isnât that just great?â Slowly, you walked up to him, hand placing itself onto his hunched shoulders, rubbing the tight muscles tenderly. He groaned, some relief finally soothing over the pain that had formed over the many hours of hunching over a desk or strumming a guitar.
âMaybe you should take a break.â
âI canât babe,â he said simply, making you deflate.
âCome on Eita, you need a break baby, youâve worked yourself to the bone. Itâll be good for you. And we havenât spent much time together either, so itâll be a good excuseââ
âOf course.â He interrupted you to look up and glare. You shrunk back a little at his gaze. âHow am I not surprised? Of course, as Iâm sitting here, stressing away for work, youâre worried about us spending time together. Thereâs a time and a place y/n, ever heard of that concept?â Frowning, you tried to ignore the flash of hurt that his words brought. You hugged yourself as you shrunk back under his glare.
âEita, Iâm not just worried about us spending time together, I just think you should take a break. Youâve been working so much that we havenât had time to ourselves, and you deserve a minute to just breathe. We can take a nap, it doesnât have to be us actually engagingââ
âY/n would you just leave? Youâre making things worse.â Frowning, you gave him a dirty look.
âEita, youâre acting like workâs the only thing that matters. You still have time till the album release and you donât have to do this all alone, you have band members for a reason. Itâs not healthy to sit here hunched over like this.â Tugging at his hair, he stood up, staring you down.
âI suppose you know so much more about my job than me huh? Thank god I have you y/n, why donât you just take over my managerâs position while youâre at it?â He spoke condescendingly, making the earlier hurt spike into anger.
âEita watch your tone, Iâm trying to take care of my man child of a boyfriend at the moment who seems to forget to eat and shower regularly at this point.â He laughed bitterly, glaring harshly at you. Semi was always one to get a bit more overworked than most, but it seemed today was even easier to get under his skin. He was getting riled up faster than youâd ever seen him.
âShut the fuck up y/n! Youâre not my mother, you donât have to nag at me to do shit! Get out and let me work now, okay? At least one of us has to,â he spat. You did a double take, shocked at the last part.
âOh? I donât work? I donât wanna hear that from you. Youâve been sitting in this room rotting away while I do everything. Make dinner, bring it to you, take it back, clean the apartment, make sure the bills have been paid on time, do the grocery shopping, not to mention I have my own damn job that I gotta go to! If anyoneâs doing anything itâs me! Carry your weight around here before you bitch at me!â Slamming his hands on the table, he walked up to you furiously, fists clenched and teeth gritted.
âI donât need you to do shit! You donât wanna do that? Great! Go someplace else and worry about your damn self!â You flinched as he yelled, trying to get away from him, but he kept walking closer and closer, caging you against the wall.
âEita get away, stopââ
âOh, donât tell me you canât finish what you started! Whatâs stopping you now huh?â
âWhatâs gotten intoââ
âWhatâs gotten into me? Whatâs gotten into you? Whatâs got you so uptight? Do I ask you to make and come shove food down my throat? No! Iâll take a damn shower before I go to bed, whatâs it to you if itâs at 3 am, are you losing any sleep? Iâm fucking sick and tired of you acting like you hold this shit together when all you do is make it worse!â You couldnât help the tears that began pouring down your face, making your breathing start to get shaky.
âMove Eitaââ but he only got closer.
âCat got your tongue? You were so insistent on starting this, now youâre gonna chicken out?â You were beginning to panic, the feeling of him caging you against the wall as he screamed beginning to be too much. Trying to collect your breathing, you attempted to shove past him again, but he didnât let you.
âEita stopââ
âIâm fucking speaking to you y/n! Donât try to walk away!â Burying your face into your hands, you sobbed, trying to collect yourself and stop the bubbling panic from overwhelming you. But Semi continued to scream, making your legs wobble and your eyes shut close as you lost consciousness.
Slowly, as you opened your eyes sometime later, you sat up, groaning at the pounding in your head. The bed sunk immediately as Semi sat before you, a glass of water in hand, stretched out for you to take. You only glared, snatching it from him and drinking it quickly.
âY/n?â
âDonât speak to me.â His breath came out shaky.
âOkay, look, I know you donât want to see me right nowââ
âYeah, I donât, so go away.â He tried to grab your hands, but you swatted his away. Gulping, he looked at you with pleading eyes.
âIâm sorry. Really I am. I know I have a problem with my anger, and I try for you, and this time it got way out of hand, butââ
âEita, I said to go away. Did you not hear that part?â He slumped, looking at you helplessly. Lips trembling, he blinked back tears.
âY/n? I-Iâm so sorry okay? Please donât be mad, I... thereâs no excuse... I-I hurt you, but I swear I didnât mean to. Just... just donât leave okay?â You crossed your arms, looking away as he stared at you with wide eyes. Heart beating faster, this time it was Semi who began to panic. âY/n?â Sighing, you turned to him, face stone cold.
âIs me looking out for you purely out of love too much for you to handle? Because it seems youâre not ready for someone taking care of you because you matter to them.â Shaking his head, he tried to grab your hand again, this time successfully managing to.
âNo, of course not! I love you for being so thoughtful. Iâd be a mess without you, I just said those things in the heat of the moment. I love you so much, I donât know where Iâd be without you! I... Iâll be better, I know Iâve been neglecting you, but pleaseââ
âEita, maybe things arenât working out as well as I thoughtââ
âNo!â He screamed, shocking you. Eyes wide and red, breath coming out faster, Semi looked utterly devastated. âNo please,â he said weakly. âI... I was scared Iâd lose you if I didnât work hard enough. I havenât been able to bring much to the band recently, and what if they drop me? And then... whoâd wanna be with a failed musician? You deserve better than that, so I tried to... I canât lose you like this, please,â he begged, heart on his sleeve as he looked at you brokenly. âI love you, youâre all I want.â And suddenly, within an instant, in a way only Semi could, your anger faded, leaving only a yearning to hold the man you loved as he stared at you like he was about to lose everything.
âEita, youâve been working yourself to the bone. All over this? I love you, you know that. No matter how successful or not you become. Youâre doing so well, your careers so promising, they wonât drop you. Not for taking care of yourself a bit more.â Sniffling, he nodded.
âI know. I... I donât know what came over me. Just... donât leave.â Nodding, offering him a gentle smile, you opened your arms.
âI wonât, but you have to change things a bit. I canât just watch you neglect yourself and me like that anymore okay?â Climbing into the bed beside you, he hugged you close, nodding.
âOkay. I promise. I love you y/n.â Leaning in and kissing his jaw, you laced your fingers together.
âI love you too baby.â

Till he opens his eyes
There's a post going around Tumblr about how if you're post-menopausal and have bleeding, you should get it checked by your doctor. I brought some minor bleeding I'd had up in a doctor visit earlier this year, prompted by that post, and this week, after a biopsy, I found out I have cancer. It's early stage and the survival odds at 5 years are 99%. I have an oncologist appointment and we may have caught it early enough that surgery alone will be sufficient treatment (no radiation/chemo).
So that post may have saved my life and it may have made my treatment a lot easier too.
If you get into menopause and then start bleeding again, really, get your reproductive innards checked out. The life you save may be your own.
Everyday I pray to God some really good X reader fic writer gets obsessed with ace like I am

Itâs actually killing me how canonically kind and sensitive Giyuu is.
He stitched the haoriâs of his two loved ones together and wore it for years. He remembered Murataâs name after all this time. He felt so strongly about Sabitoâs death he had to repress his feelings entirely to function again. He gave two siblings a chance to try to find a way to cure becoming a demon despite his duty to do otherwise. In the manga he helped Mitsuri up when Tengen accidentally knocked her over at the first pillar meeting we see. He wanted to try and befriend Sanemi by giving him his favorite snack.
The fact that he went from smiling so wide and tearing up over his friend slapping him to showing hardly any emotions at allâjust so he wouldnât succumb to the despair and hopelessness of his grief, just so he could keep livingâitâs so heartbreaking.
sorry i forgot to post these

You didn't mean to fall in love with your boyfriend.
You hadn't gone into this expecting Hajime to become your boyfriend at all, actually. You liked him. Liked how easy it was to be with him. How warm he was when you let your touch linger on him and pretended it was more than a flirty friendship. You hadn't ever predicted it would become so, because Hajime was hung up on his ex-girlfriend.
They'd traveled over oceans to be together, coming to Irvine from the same prefecture in Japan. They had still been together when you met him, her head tucked beneath his chin, his arms wrapped around her waist. Your first thought was "oh, he's beautiful." Your second thought was "they look like they're made for each other." You shoved the first thought deep inside a secret crevice of your brain and stuck out your hand to introduce yourself with a bright smile.
The strain of new adulthood got to them, though, or so you assumed: you were never privy to the gory details of the breakup. They remained friendly, in the same friend group, and it just always seemed obvious to you that they would someday reconcile. It wasn't until two years after their break that you were able to start showing regular, platonic affection to Hajime without feeling like an attempted homewrecker.
It was just before graduation, having dragged him away for a late-night bite to eat so neither of you would starve to death studying for finals, when everything flipped on its head. Your plan to energize the both of you had backfired; you were yawning every other sentence and came close to laying your head on the table before Hajime put his palm down in front of your face.
"Come sit next to me," he'd said, so you maneuvered around into his side of the booth and been promptly pulled into his side. You had looked up at him, murmuring a sleepy question that was more wordless noise than actual English, and that was it. Something you didn't understand softened his gaze, and then he tilted his head to the side and brushed his lips over yours.
It was a perfect first kiss.
In the weeks following it, you had bounced violently between insisting to yourself that he hadn't meant for you to read too far into the kiss and your natural instinct to go after what your heart wanted. And the more he proved that it wasn't a one-off anomaly, that he could kiss you right out of drought into a superbloom, the more you were convinced. Iwaizumi Hajime wouldn't knowingly break your heart.
When Hajime asked you to be official, wildflower bouquet in hand, the lights of the now-empty graduation pavilion shining down on the both of you, you said yes, your whole heart and none of your brain in the matter.
As you entered your apartment hand-in-hand with him, greeting all the friends who had gathered there to celebrate the end of undergraduate school, you remembered that the key modifier in "Iwaizumi Hajime wouldn't knowingly break your heart" was knowingly. He seemed happy enough announcing the development to everyone else, and then she had walked in, carrying a bottle of wine that almost slipped from her grasp when she saw your proximity. He had dropped your handâjust for a second, but it had happened, and then picked it back up like his sentence hadn't died in his mouth at the sight of her.
He'd always gotten a little defensive when people mentioned their relationship, his features shutting down into a blank, tight expression. Though they obviously weren't as close as they had been for most of their lives, they were still both part of your friend group, and he always seemed to laugh just a little harder at her jokes, kept eye contact a little longer, got embarrassed more easily around her. You didn't want to be jealous or insecure or possessive, but it just felt more increasingly obvious that you were a rebound, a cheap, temporary dupe meant to fill in until Hajime realized and returned to the love of his life.
It was hard to be angry at him, though, because you knew with every fiber of your bleeding heart that he wouldn't do this to you on purpose. You knew he thought he cared for you, that he thought he had moved on. He did a good job almost every day coming very close to persuading you of it, enough to keep you from breaking up with him and leaving him behind, but never quite erasing your insecurities for more than a few weeks at a time.
One of the first mornings you woke up in his bed, well rested and sore in all the right places, he was missing. You got up, mourning the softness of his sheets and the scent of him on the pillowcases, and slipped into one of his shirts before leaving his room to explore.
He was cooking, shirtless in the kitchen, and if that wasn't one of the yummiest things you had seen in your life.
"Good morning," you said, leaning against his counter.
"Very," he returned, flipping an egg in the pan. "Looking like that. I thinkâI mean, it seems like that shirt always gets chosen to be the boyfriend shirt." He had narrowly avoided saying her name, but you had heard it threatening to tumble out of his mouth. You bit back a response, but your smile still dropped, and he spent the next hour making allusive, sorry overtures without either of you actually acknowledging the slip.
You never wore that shirt again. He gave you another one, you accepted it, and life moved on.
Except you had somehow become mired in the past with a relationship that was long over, and without university or a job to distract youâyou were starting at the end of September, which felt aeons awayâit was eating you alive, especially as Hajime left for a preliminary return trip to Japan.
"Did you hear how Mattsun and Makki greeted him when he landed?" You sit in the car on the way to the airport, packed in with Hajime's ex, successfully hyping yourself up to see him again until she addressed the group.
"Oh, yeah," you laugh. "So funny." You haven't had a conversation with Hajime that had more depth than "how are u? miss u" for the trip's duration. She's your friend, too, though you've never been close, but there's something unbearable about admitting it to her now, when you're so unsure of your relationship's current status. It has to mean something that he was keeping her updated and active in his life, didn't it?
You find solace in knowing that you don't blame her at all. If you could find an ounce of resentment for her in your heart, you would probably have left Hajime by nowâisn't that the mark of a truly evil plot-pushing girlfriend?
You cry when you see him again.
"Happy tears," you assure him, and hide your face in his shoulder.
Later, alone in his apartment, you bite your lip when Hajime asks if you want to sleep over.
"Okay, babe, I don't want to pressure you," he says, and you can feel yourself tensing up as he speaks. "But I feel like you've beenâoff all day. Is everything okay?"
You blanch and focus on the cowlick on the right side of his head, the one that's endeared him so much to you, so you don't have to look him in the eyes. Too much is bubbling up in your throat, your brain thrown into overdrive, and he's staring at you with so much worry in his eyes it's just not right to leave him hanging:
"No."
Hajime makes a noise you don't understand, low in his throat. "Is it because I didn't call enough while I was gone? Because I can explain that, I promise."
"No," you rush to explain. "I don'tâit wasn't you, exactly. I've justâever since we started datingâI think you still love her."
You're picking at your nails, a bad habit you've had since you were small, and he takes your hands in his, smooths his thumbs over the torn cuticles.
"I don't," he says, finally, neutrally, though his face hasn't formed into the cold mask you're used to seeing when she's brought up. "Ever since we started dating?"
"Before," you admit. "I always thought you would get back together. You just seemed so made for each other."
"But we weren't," a little pucker between his eyebrows forms. "Soâwhat did you think when we started dating?"
"When you first kissed me," you say, "I thought maybe it was a one-off. That you wanted something casual. And then it got more serious, and I thought maybe I could just suppress my insecurities until they went away, and I mean, I really thought you liked me."
"I do," his voice grows more agitated, his lips thinning out.
"Yeah, but..." You trail off. "You would do things that made me think, oh, he's just the perfect guy, they just looked so amazing because I was jealous, and then every so often I'd see you interact with her and it wasn't like how we are at all. I know the insecurity is my own fault, that's not on you, but I feel like it's holding both of us back."
"What do you mean holding us back? You don't think you make me happy?" He snaps, and you wince.
"Not like you are with her! Every time she comes in the room you get this look on your face, like you're speechless. Like-like the songs, Haji, I just..."
He lets go of your hands, crosses his arms.
"Do you really think I'd do that to you?"
"No, Haji, I know you'd never cheat. That's why I fell in love with you! You're a good guy, but I don't want you to wake up one day and break both our hearts because she's meant to be your girl and I'm just your fucking girlfriend." Your eyes sting, your chest heaving by the end of the sentence.
"You love me?" He's quieter now, giving you a little more space to breathe.
"What? That's not what I said."
"Yes, it is," he says, a little smile growing at the corners of his mouth, as though he can't control it. "You love me."
"I'm sorry, I don't understand why you're focusing on that," you wipe at your eyes with the back of your hand. "It's true, I just don't get it."
"Because you make me happier than she ever did," he promises, crowding you up against the counter and motioning for you to jump up to sit on top of it after you can go no further. "I'm weird when she's around because she's my ex, sure, but not because I still want her. It... ended badly. It's a miracle we didn't pull the entire friend group into it, and I never wanted to make her look bad to them, so I'm always trying really hard to look, uh, normal around her. We're on better terms now, but I haven't wanted her in years, honey."
"She knew about what you were doing when I didn't," you mumble, feeling small in the stormy release of emotions. "And she knows so much about you I don't in general."
"We grew up together," Hajime reminds you. "It would have been one of the guys. I know I didn't tell her anything. You can check my call history, my texts."
You shake your head. "I believe you."
"Really?" He arches a brow, and you laugh and push gently at his shoulder.
"Yes, really."
"You know how long I had a crush on you before I did anything about it? I thought you weren't interested, and then you finally started being even more affectionate with me than you were with our other friends, and I took the chance."
"Rookie numbers," you preen under his gaze. "I liked you... pretty much as soon as I met you. But I suppressed it 'cause I didn't want to be a homewrecker."
"You're sweet," he chuckles. "I promise, you have nothing to worry about there. I'm never gonna wake up and not be grateful to see you drooling on my bed."
"You're the worst, you know that?"
"Yeah, yeah," he looks at you fondly, swiping his thumbs under your lower lashes. "You love me, though."
"Oh," your lips part. "And the not calling in Japan?"
He scrunches his nose. "I was trying not to spoil anything. I wanted to, uh, discuss it with you first, but you should know my friends and family are all waiting to embarrass me if I have to turn everything around now."
"Okay? I'll consider your dignity, but I make no promises," you tease. He drops his head to your shoulder for a moment, taking a deep breath, and you wind a hand into his hair, petting him until he straightens.
"So, you know how I have that paid internship opportunity back home?" You nod, not wanting to be reminded. You'll do it for him, but... long distance sucks. "I went to their office and turned it down. I want to go through with my doctorate."
"Oh, that's huge!" You gasp. "That's incredible, I'm so happy for you!"
"So the part that has to do with you is, um," he says, "you're planning to stay here, right?"
"Yeah," you say, "my next step is like a twenty minute commute, thankfully."
"I want to finish my schooling in the States," he tells you, "and then after that, I want to go wherever you go."
"Hajime," you start, but he puts a shaking hand on your knee, and that shuts you up.
"I love you," he says seriously. "It's like I said, okay? You make me happier than anyone else. I know you're the one for me, if you'll have me. If not, I getâ"
You grab his face and smash your lips into his, and if that doesn't get the message across? You don't know what will.
