Meet Pebbles ⬇️
Edit: I apologize for the fourth picture in the original post that had a bra in the background, it’s been replaced with a different picture.
Pebbles is a 3 and a half year old long hair chihuahua that I rescued from a hoarding/backyard breeding ring from a Mexico border town in Texas, she made the long and terrifying trip across the USA to come to me and my family where we currently live in Canada, she was adopted legally through a rescue in case you were concerned, you can learn more about the rescue here.
When Pebbles first came to us back in 2019, she was underweight, dirty and covered in bruises. We first thought she had just been horrible abused, and while that was partially true, she also had a severe medical issue. She had a bad skin condition, basically she’s allergic to most things. It causes extreme itchiness, she will scratch herself until she’s torn flesh off herself if she’s not watched. A few years ago I woke to find my bed covered in blood as she had torn her entire side open, I have those pictures as well as pictures of her bruising which I will put at the end of this post under a trigger warning. Eventually we managed to get enough money to take her to a vet and find out about her allergies and skin condition, she was put on medication for it and it actually helped quite a bit, she was doing very well. Problem is now our vet had closed, the pandemic has left a lot of small businesses unable to continue on as normal. We now have a new vet, I’ve paid the deductible for her, but to actually get her blood work done, skin scraping and then hopefully more medicine, it’s going to cost money I just simply do not have. Since the beginning of the pandemic myself, my family and closest friends have all suffered pretty hard and slipped down from just teetering above the poverty line to now living completely below the poverty line. I can go to food banks and go without my own medicine if need be, but I cannot have my dog suffering because I was unable to go through the pandemic unscathed. Pebbles has been unmedicated since January, it’s literally taking that long to find a new vet that is even somewhat near where I live. She’s in pain and uncomfortable and as much as I loathe having to do this, I am asking for help. I considered starting a godundme but as I was told they take 10% of the funds donated, I thought going through PayPal would make more sense.
As many of my mutuals and followers know, I do write, quite a bit, I’ve even debated starting a Patreon for a while there. Anyway, I would be more than willing to fulfill any fanfic prompts for anyone who donates, seriously, anything, I’d do anything to just be able to show my appreciation for you.
I’m looking to raise around 500 dollars CAD, which is a shit ton of money, I know! Trust me, that would feed my family for 3 months. But unfortunately veterinary costs are insane, it’s 250 alone for a simple blood test! Another 150 for the skin scraping test and the medication costs around 170 dollars. Ugh, it hurts my heart. But it’s what must be done to take care of Pebbles.
So please, if you can donate, that would be amazing. If you can reblog this post, that would also be amazing. Getting the word out would mean so much to me, the more people who see this the more likely we are to be able to reach our lofty goal.
Thank you!! 💖💖💖

Below are some pictures of Pebbles current injuries due to her skin condition, trigger warnings for extreme bruising, hair loss and scarring of an animal.
This is my best friend, she is struggling right now with Pebbles. Please help and spread the word, donate if you can. I'm a writer as well, so I'm willing to offer my services as a writer to help get the medication for her.

Prompts filled for REalmathon: Defense: New to me author, Host favorite, Genre blend, team genre
Review:
I had heard many good things about House of Hunger on Booktube, so naturally when I found out it would be a host choice for Realmathon, I had to read it. It's dark and gothic setting made every action every character questioning the intent. I did feel it dragged slightly in the middle, with everything happening in the last fifty pages, but honestly it worked. You needed to feel for Marion and Lisavet, and understand the complicated relationship between the Nobility and bloodmaids. The ending is absolutely stunning, bittersweet, hopeful and open ended all at once. Definitely a book I would not mind having in my collection.
When you give torture advice to other writers -
Shoulder Angel: What is WRONG with you!?
Shoulder Devil: Nothing! Now tell them about cutting ankle tendons so the victim can’t run away!
Just so everyone knows...It's my, I'm the other writer. And thanks for the ankle tendons. MWUAHAHAHAHHAHA
Word count reached
Happy first day of Camp NaNo. I would have gotten more done but I kinda sorta maybe broke my foot so I had to stop. Also, you know Realmathon. Currently reading House of Hunger for it, and it's actually really good so far.

It's hard to really say much about this book without giving spoilers. So I will say this, it is a page turner, dark and yet hopeful, and in the end it's the story of a teenaged girl who's not allowed out of the house, not after last time, the man who drinks too much in front of his tv and tries to ignore the gaps in his memories, and a cat who loves to read the bible, and what they do when someone moves into the last empty house on Needless Street.

I did not really like this one as much as I liked The House in the Cerulean Sea. This is the type of book that you really have to be in a particular mindset. I also really didn't enjoy the ending. Without going into spoilers, I would have preferred a more bittersweet ending. I felt like it was too contrived and didn't make me happy in the least. I think there are definitely people who would love this book but for me it wasn't the book for me.
100.) Happy 100th post, everybody!

@theflagscene I'm now dying. I'm literally dead, you have killed me.
Hi Tumblr,
Help me out a bit? I'm seeing a huge uptick in people saying that "trans romcoms" and "happy trans books" don't exist, and like... I published one two years ago and the paperback is still readily available at bookstores, so this is just not true?
My battle to get Meet Cute Diary recognized as a romcom is literally still ongoing. People keep arguing it MUST be an issue book just because the characters are PoC and trans, but it's literally a comedy, it doesn't "educate" on trans issues, and his being trans is NOT the plot of the story.
Anyway, I don't need anyone to buy the book or read the book or like the book. I just want people to acknowledge that it exists so I can stop 1. having to explain to people that it's not an issue book. The fact that it doesn't deal in trans suffering is actually the highlight, yes. and 2. dealing with people blatantly erasing the fight and progress I made within the industry just to get this book published.
Anyway, this is the cover. If you could just share it around and let people know that we *are* allowed to write trans romcoms and one already exists and has had bookshelf space in stores across the U.S. and ALSO in several other countries, that would be great, thanks!
since the old version of this post was flagged for 'adult content'...
reblog this post if your account is a trans safe space or owned by a trans person!
along with that, reblog if your account is a non-binary spectrum safe space or owned by someone on the enby spectrum!

Review:
I think over all I liked Psalm for the Wild Built a bit more than the second book, but only by a very small bit. I do think both books could have been published as one volume. Where Psalm for the Wild Built is more about Sibling Dex and them trying to answer Mosscap's question, What to humans need? They were trying to answer it before they even met Mosscap. In the second book, that still plays a part, but it's also more focused on Mosscap, learning about the world that Robots left behind. And then learning to answer the question itself. It is still thoughtful, still introspective, and I loved it, but I did love the first book focusing on just Dex and Mosscap. It's also fantastic to not see people who are nonbinary being normalize, but Dex's parents are in a polyamorous relationship and it is not seen as unusual or wrong. It just is. It is a nice quick cozy read set on a distant moon and I really hope there is another book coming, because I need more Dex and Mosscap.
Destroy the myth that libraries are no longer relevant. If you use your library, please reblog.
I literally have so many books on hold both digital and phsyical and have so many books checked out that it's ridiculous. Not everyone can afford books, or internet etc. Libraries are so so so important.
