This week's episode was so much better than last week's. So much so that a literal gigantic sword or something rose from the sea and neither Lara and Mari bothered to notice aside from looking into each other's eyes.

Mid-way through goodbye, lara episode 3: Wow, this is great but would really be peak if it was yuri...

Mari then proceeded to say funny idiots were cute, the freaking light of true love flashed across the screen, a fucking giant dagger thing shot out of the lake??????, and Lara made this face while the narration reminded us she needs to find true love:

But so far 3 episodes in I don’t think it will be. I mean Mari calls her cute and Lara blushes bright red? Followed by that magic true love star thing flashing across the screen and then a pillar rises from the sea? There is a scene of her saying “I wonder if I can find true love in Shiga?” While turning to look at Mari? Yeah I’m starting to trust this will be some high quality yuri and the dude who looks like the prince in the op will be the apparently mandatory gl aroace guy just standing there supporting our lesbians

I’m really happy this episode showed us a lot about Mari even though she can be very blunt I think this episode did a really good job showing the relationship she had with her mom and how that effects her very straightforward thought process

Even though it can seem like she is being a bit harsh to Lara I like how that bluntness is also the same reason why she seems very unfazed by the fact that she has a literal mermaid in her room haha ya know what I mean?

Getting to spend that time in Mari’s head all episode really made that last scene so great you can pretty much see the exact time she gains a bit of respect for Lara

i know this is just episode 3, but i really feel like a theme of the show might be people helping each other in a way opposite to what happened to lara the first time. Originally, just the prince took her in as a love interest, which everyone else tolerated, and he was unable to accept her for some reason, but now we have mari picking up grace and lara. mari is introduced as someone who's never wanted to make friends, but lara has changed her mind about that, and her family accepts her.

the opening shows lara at work, school, with his new family, and making new friends, so i imagine she'll just be having a ton of new relationships in this life. i wonder how it will connect to her previous family since there seems to be an obvious potential punishment looming over everyone based on her choices for some reason
