there’s something beautiful about a ship surviving decades of changing fandom spaces. kakairu was there in old forums, doujin circles, fanfiction archives.. and somehow they’re still here.

people calling kakairu an ‘old ship’ as an insult will never stop being funny to me, because surviving over 20 years of fandom culture is genuinely impressive.

Something I've gathered, is that almost everyone seems to think they only have a "necessary" number of shoes; however, everyone has a DRASTICALLY different idea of what that is.

For purposes of this post, I'm defining "shoe" as "footwear you'd wear outside the house", and "actually used" as "something you've worn within the past month, and/or that you expect to wear again within a year".

For me, it's a pair of steel-toed shoes that are what I normally wear when I have to wear shoes; sandals; running shoes; and winter boots. So, four pairs. (Plus there's the old worn-out stuff that I just keep in the closet because I'm allergic to throwing things away if it's still vaguely functional, but that's why I specified "actually used".)

My conspiracy theory is that Iruka wasn't allowed to have any major fight scenes or to let his hair down, because that would destroy the appeal of every single other character in the manga, and Kishimoto really wanted the readers to simp for Kakashi and Itachi.

i have this half cooked half headcanon half theory that the reason iruka took longer to become a chuunin and that there are no confirmed jounin iruka's age/from his graduating class is because a lot of their jounin senseis died during the kyuubi attack (since younger shinobi were forbidden from fighting, the adults had to do more/risk more/fight longer etc), essentially leaving behind a large number of genin that just. didn't have someone to recommend them for exams/promotions (going by what has been hinted at in canon/filler as part of the process to becoming a chuunin, jounin)

(+ which plays into my hc that the reason iruka was sent on that mission with kakashi in the anime was so that kakashi would recommend him for the promotion-- not that hiruzen wouldn't have promoted him, but he probably knew iruka needed to feel like he earned it/was worthy. which backfired, in a way.)
