Introducing About Face!

Encouraged by the ongoing success of our chest binder exchange, In a Bind, we have decided to expand our Youth Expressions programming with a brand new project for trans-feminine youth: About Face!

About Face aims to support and affirm the exploration of gender expression by AMAB (Assigned Male At Birth) transgender and gender diverse youth by providing them with basic makeup kits who may not otherwise be able to obtain them on their own due to social stigma or living in unsupportive environments.

To celebrate the launch of this new service, we are hosting our first giveaway through raffle!

To qualify for this raffle, you must be 18 years old or younger, be on the trans-feminine spectrum (ie, trans women and all AMAB nonbinary identities), and have a US mailing address.

The winner will receive all items pictured (details under the cut). To be entered to win, send an email to [email protected]. Be sure to include your age and a brief statement of why you would like to win. We will be accepting entries through Friday, September 16th!

You know what’d be hilarious? If everyone went to see Suicide Squad opening night and Joker wasn’t even in it. Like everyone’s waiting for him to show up and he just never does. And all the magazine pictures and candid photos were just to mislead everyone. Including Jared Leto. Jared Leto had no idea he wasn’t gonna be in the movie. They let him film a bunch of BS scenes just for show.

There is a really, shitty hoax going around now that if you email Nintendo proof of your disability they will unlock “secret” disabled permissions for Pokemon Go. 

Please stop sharing this rumor and shut it down when you are able to.  And if you have reblogged this rumor, please take the time to reblog a correction.

It’s an extremely mean-spirited response to disabled people’s disappointment that they can’t play the game due to mobility (and other) issues.

the other day i saw a tweet by some man that was like “so what if men just started remaking all the iconic female comedies with all male casts?” and legit my first thought was “uh, yeah, sure, go ahead”

and then i thought a little harder and like, there are a few, but – you couldn’t realistically do that? because here’s the thing: historically, comedies with majority-female casts have been about characters in specifically gendered situations, or have only worked plot-wise because of gender roles. like – 9 to 5. the first wives club. clueless. legally blonde. mean girls. bridesmaids. like, sure, you COULD make all-male versions of those, but they’re going to bear almost zero resemblance to the original story, because those stories are specifically GENDERED stories.

whereas the reason why you can make a movie like ghostbusters with an all female cast is because the conceit is universal, since there was no reason to justify them being all men in the first place. male stories are universal. female stories are “about women.”

so, like, men: if you want to steal all the iconic female comedies and remake them, have at it! good luck with that! you’re not going to get very far.
