Charlie! Go Home!

This is my horror comic project, about a lost kitten named Charlie who goes to look for his Mum in a strange, haunted version of his home town. There are monsters, apparitions, traps and other horrors around every once familiar corner.

His only companion is a friendly traffic cone!

Main influences-

The Yomawari games, Little Miss Fortune, Detention

Manga and comics like Madoka Magika, Bearded Butterflies and Birds of Tin, Ruby Gloom, Leonora and Johnny the Homicidal Maniac.

Retro classic British cartoons like Duckula, Jamie and the Magic Torch, Raggy Dolls, Dennis the Menace, Pigeon Street, Trap Door etc.

Illustrators like David McKee, Edward Gorey, Korky Paul, Gekidan Inu Curry, Junko Mizuno, Junji Ito and Kanako Inuki.

With a heavy dose of Don't Hug Me I'm Scared

This stemmed from my desire to see a Leon and Jill team up in Requiem. 'Coz Jill deserves to be kicking butt with Leon (along with Claire, but I'm too in a rush to add more characters in this comic). I headcanon that Leon and Jill have a sibling dynamic with Jill lightly bullying him at times lol.

My first Discworld book was the Wee Free Men. I loved it, and read it over and over again. But since that was the only one my local library had, for the longest time I thought it was a standalone. Imagine my delight when, years later, I discovered the rest of this fantastic series.

The City Watch books in particular struck a note with me, and they’ve quickly become some of my all time favorites. So of course I had to draw this to celebrate.
