I will say, you are on of my go-to artist when I want to find ref for people kissing haha, wonderful things to see here. Would there be any tips from you to draw people kissing?
well thank you! i personally think i need to start doing different angles for kissing because i have only a few but i guess i'll share the ones i have!
when drawing kissing i try to tilt the head so they don't bump their nose because unfortunately it's kind of in the way if it's bigger (and it will still squish into the cheek if you're being accurate)
and the tilt angle will kind of show the body language of the characters, showing who is more eager (this is optional but i use it to make the art look more dynamic and to show the power balance between the characters), specifically i make the one who is more eager tilt the head upwards so we can see the chin from below and the one who is more on the receiving side tilt downwards and draw their nose so i can draw more of the blushing expression because the eager or dominant one gets their face hidden behind the nose
now i use this because it's more convenient in scenes i want to draw, but the angle of the head is enough to show the body language of the character. if you want even more action you can also add hands! they tell a lot about the character you're drawing
when it comes to lips im pretty lazy to draw them because they dont look that good if you draw them separately so i tend to leave out the middle part so it kinda melts together and it looks more squished together
when i do draw them i draw the upper lip of the person with the nose facing the viewer and the lower lip of the other person
if you want to draw them french kissing or whatever this is called i do the same with the tongues by drawing only the parts that are not touching together and the teeth as well. when you're actually kissing the teeth are very in the way you don't want them to clash, but if i don't draw them they just look like they're old people without teeth and i don't like it lol
when i want it to be soft i don't even draw the lips anymore, honestly the body language and the expressions are enough to let the viewers know they're kissing
and the lips get hidden by the cheeks majority of the time anyway because of the angle so i just add an extra mini heart to let the viewers know THEY KISSED okay they're not snuggling, they're not bumping heads, they're KISSING
