I saw this recommended and thought "oh another dungeon crawler based on 1970s D&D. Wait inspired by Darkest Dungeon, Below (okay these make sense), also Disco Elysium and Dark Souls?? Alright I'll check it out, don't expect anything from it-
Alright you have my attention
So yeah, in going one step further from the meatgrinder tradition of classic dungeon delving, you literally play a ghost that body hops when you die. Also a very unusual use of a hex map for a game, as the dungeons you explore are basically two dimensional, and each floor is one dimensional; you go from hex to hex in a line, similar to Darkest Dungeon. Keeps it easy to track at least, and also hints that it's not the layout of a floor, but the composition of each room and hex (which are all randomly rolled when you uncover them) that matters.
A tabletop rpg with a difficulty selection. I gotta admit, that's a first for me. Also with the way some of these rolls are and needing to roll under, a d12 is going to make them an absolute bitch to pull off, fitting for the highest "difficulty."
Ah yes, the corpse list. That's a thing.
Many, many years have passed.
Probably the most metal part of this game, you literally fight the big dungeon boss while falling, to either be swallowed by the Depths forever, become the Crypt Worm, or climbing out, one floor at a time. Holy fuck
As with any classic style rpg, there are many, many tables to roll on, their unique contents being something I'll leave for the reader to discover for themselves.
Also, gang of 1d6 thieves. Something menacing to me about that.
Your spirit is basically your class. The one constant between bodies.
...William?
Oh hey found my favorite class. And very transgender too.
Also the fucking medic class levels up by killing the patient.
I tried to find this game and unfortunately the linked website has been taken down - does anyone happen to have a copy they'd be willing to share? I'd love to play Whalefall but I just can't find it anywhere else.
Whoopsie everyone, sorry for the delay on this, been a bit busy. Hello! I'm Coffee, Maddy's owner. For quite a while it's been doomscrolling on tumblr and some of you may have noticed its not been around to reblog things and such anymore.
Well for the past month and a bit it hasn't had access to its account. With its enthusiastic consent, I used parsec to remote in to her device changed the password to its account to a random string of numbers generated by my password manager and logged it out of everything so it'd be forced to take a break.
It has been thriving and has asked me to make this a more permanent thing instead of just the month we originally planned and asked me to write up something letting the people she only communicates with on here know. Its is not dead, it is happy and healthy and thriving. It's been learning to draw with its new tablet recently :)
Anyway I encourage any depressed pups to follow my doggy's lead and ask your owners to lock you out of your social media so you can take a break and do something else for a bit.
i know this is hard as fuck to believe but actually some men aren't trans women. and consistently insisting they are to the point that you can tell the other person is uncomfortable isnt a good look on you
Hey so this is obvious bait, but I want to give everyone here an exercise in critical thinking
1. What does it mean that they felt the need to send this ask anonymously?
2. How does the statement "some men aren't trans women" reflect upon this person's perception of trans women?
You talk a lot about AI art but what about people who use AI for writing? I dont have any moral objections to it, I just dont understand why some people use it for creative writing specifically.
uhh i think i've talked about some mostly text-based AI art here... everything everything used it for the lyrics on their album raw data feel (it even named the closing track, software greatman). it wasn't intended as art but i do think that the vending machine AI that threatened a THERMONUCLEAR SMALL CLAIMS COURT FILING because 'only crimes are occuring' after misunderstanding its simulated enivornment is really really good. oh and cocaine is the motor of the modern world is genuienly to me a really good and effective piece of horror writing even or honestly especially without the image. i also think a lot of the old botnik stuff holds up even though that's ofc a totally different ballpark
I love that Noelle canonically played the ‘Evil Route’ of Dragon Blazers even though it scared her and she felt bad about it. I love that Susie played the Evil Route by accident because she didn’t consider that it was an option not to kill everything. I love that Kris purposely sacrificed copyright-neutral Yoshis when playing video games with Asriel as a kid. I love that Ramb thinks Kris would find Tenna’s version of the Chapter 3 boards to be boring and would prefer the original version where you can use violence to get stronger. I love that Ramb’s assumption is implied to be correct. I love that Kris only flinches away from the screen in the Sword Route when they have to kill the sprites representing their friends. I love that you can control lil’ kris to hop out of the game and actually threaten real Kris and Susie with the sword, and that this freaks Kris the fuck out. I love that Asriel tried to pray for Kris over their Yoshi killing sins and that Father Alvin found it naive and ridiculous. To believe that your actions in a video game would say anything about your actual character. I love that Kris and Noelle and Susie and Catti and probably Berdly too would all play the Weird Route if they had access to Deltarune. I wish the fandom took all of this into more consideration when analyzing the meta-narrative that Deltarune is trying to tell instead of resorting to 2015 era ‘you’re horrible for playing the Weird Route’ rhetoric
I've been working on something Deltarune-related for a while now but progress has been slow. As a result, I've started to do daily drawings to start increasing my drawing speed, because otherwise it will take me forever to get this thing done.
There won't be a theme or anything, I'll just draw whatever I feel like. Art will be amateur and maybe sometimes bad, but my hyperfixation has allowed me to stop caring. Likely will take a bit to get to Deltarune stuff 'cause there's some stuff I wanna draw first. I started this on August 28th so I'll upload the ones I've already completed here.
Daily Art #1 (August 28th)! I decided to put my fursona in an old outfit that I haven't made her wear in a long time. The fact that it's a two-piece dress feels more relevant now that I'm chubbier :3
This will be one of the last things I make in MediBang Paint Pro (other than that previously-mentioned Deltarune thing). I'm now moving onto Clip Studio Paint and getting used to how that works.
wow it's crazy how guilt as a motivator is actually extremely counterproductive, how it paralyzes you with indecision and makes you more capable of causing harm because it actually makes you less likely to acknowledge when you do. But how am I going to fix this...? Oh, I know! I am going to guilt trip people who do this in order to create an artificial type of guilt so concentrated it instantly evaporates you when you breathe
Reverse fantasy heartbreaker whose metatextual conceit is that it's somebody trying to invent Dungeons & Dragons from first principles in an alternative universe where the dominant mode of tabletop roleplaying is diceless storygames about gay catgirls talking about feelings.
(Bonus points if the text takes great care to emphasise that you can play characters of any gender, but has a faintly-yet-inescapably weird vibe to how it talks about male PCs.)
ultimately the best way to prevent abuse is to organize society in such a way that everyone's needs are met wothout having to rely on a parent or employer or boyfriend or any one individual. obviously wont stop, like, manipulation or so on, but the ability to dangle basic needs over someone's head is one of the most powerful and consistant tools of abuse out there. if someone is able to just leave, and know that they will have access to food and shelter and clean water and education, that will enable so, so mamy victims of abuse to do just that.
the thing is that most men hate women in general and treat any woman they're close to as an exception. his girlfriend is not like the other girls, his female friend is just like one of the boys, his mother is a saint among women. this is a normal and expected outlook for a man to have, to the point that highlighting all the ways that he hates women in general as being hateful and not just normal has been one of the major projects of feminism.
so when i as a clearly frustrated feminist and a trans woman say "i hate men" i think it's actually very easy for all the men in my life who already understand everything ive just said above (because they're feminists) to understand what i mean by that, and to get that they can represent exceptions to a general feeling of sexgender class resentment. it's really only the men who do not understand the first goddamn thing about feminism or who are completely hair-trigger ready to jump in with white-knight high horse man-defense-league bullshit who object to it.
pretending that you don't understand how i could have men as close friends and family in my life and still genuinely feel that i hate men in general as a category and a social class is just engaging in the same old kind of "first day on earth" willful obtuseness that is characteristic of so much men's rights bullshit and has been for literally ever
Working on a playbook for Perfect Draw and, with it, an Affinity template for making more in the future! Pretty happy with the template so far.
And having a lot of fun making content! I've got a couple more playbook ideas that I think explore some fun design space, and I've got plenty of ideas for more in the NPC Encounters line.
If you wanna follow my design process more directly, you can get access to my WIP documents at my Patreon, as well as access to every piece of content I ever post there! Also, if you support at Silver tier or higher, you can add any product I release to your Itch.io account for free when they release to the public.
baby girl I don't know what that acronym means. it would be so sexy of you to write out that piece of media's name in its entirety. Just the one time for momma please.
