At this point I’m so exhausted by liberal queer politics that I just don’t care anymore. I used to get so riled up over straight aces calling themselves queer, and at this point, who even cares? The word “queer” is meaningless as an identifier at this point because it’s been co-opted by mostly straight people. It’s also a slur. As far as I’m concerned, straight aces and genderists can call themselves “queer” because that term means nothing anymore. I’m not queer, I don’t want to be queer, the “queer” community doesn’t speak for me or validate lesbian existence, and I don’t even want to be a part of it.

My take on asexuality

Asexuality is 100% valid

But it’s not inherently lgbt

You can be Asexual Lesbian, Asexual Gay, Asexual Bi, Asexual Trans and be lgbt

But just the fact that you’re ace alone doesn’t make you lgbt

BUT being ace is completely okay and valid and great! Just not lgbt
