Why are people on tiktok acting like autism gives you superpowers or something
Let's not do this on tumblr too....
fun fact about me: When I was 6 years old I sent so much hate mail to the president (the second Bush) that the mail carrier had to tell my mom I needed to stop before we got FBI’d
I was COMPLETELY unaware of the US political scene or why the adults in my life hated Bush, but I knew I hated him because he let people shoot wolves from helicopters and that’s mean and shitty
I also had a poor grasp on how stamps worked, so given that I wasn’t allowed to continually throw money away by putting stamps on my presidential hate mail, a lot of the times I just drew squares with little pictures inside on the corner.
Love, love, love reading more proof that everyone should encourage the children in their lives to write to elected officials--it teaches them about citizenship and can also be very funny.
When I taught second grade, one of the options for students who had finished their work was to write a letter to the president. I would send all of the letters in a big envelope at the end of every month.
Watching my students get more and more frustrated with him (and concerned about his wellbeing) was not the result I'd hoped for when I came up with the idea, but it was kind of hilarious.
See, Obama had a standard packet with information and activities about his dog he'd send in response to letters from very young citizens...and of course his office sent one back to our class every single time we sent mail.
So eventually all of the letters looked something like this:
Dear President Obama, I am writing about the environment. I am sad that the Great Barrier Reef is hurt. Also the Amazon Rainforest. Can you help? PLEASE DON'T WRITE BACK TO TELL ME ABOUT YOUR DOG AGAIN. WE ALREADY KNOW ALL ABOUT BO. WE COMPLETED THE MAZE AND COLORED HIM IN. It is good that you love your pet a lot. But try to remember the environment. It is also important.
you played dog games
you won dog prizes
I love how Zohran Mamdani is wearing a suit everywhere. And if he has anything else he puts it ON TOP of the suit. A basketball jersey. A high-vis vest. All worn over the suit. He’s like the mayor character in a cartoon who’s always dressed as The Mayor. If I didn’t know who he was and he biked past me in NYC I’d be like holy shit was that the mayor
color-coordinated with his tie nonetheless
So I've been saving Black YouTubers reviewing racist YouTuber apologies. Let's take a peek!
MacDoesIt reviews apologies by YouTubers Tana Mongeau, Jeffree Star, FBE, and Shane Dawson. Lots of fun, good feedback on what a racist apology SHOULD (reparations to the group harmed) and SHOULD NOT (be all about your own intentions and feelings) include.
And then we've got Courtreezy coming in with the tiktokers. Not just one video, a series of FOUR, because apparently nonblack tiktokers really like being antiblack 🤣 She rates things including intention and delivery- because frankly I feel your delivery of your apology should match the bold energy of your racism! I particularly enjoy her being unimpressed, and rightfully so- I think people believe that you're supposed to accept an apology just because it was made, and that's not how it works.
And mind you, these videos were only made in 2021. SURELY by NOW we've learned better- oh? Another racist creator has hit the second tower, I repeat, another-
I also just saw WHAT Shane Dawson apologized for in this particular apology and um... We're not getting past "n***a bitch monkey woman" 🤣 there is NO apology I'm sorry 🤣 just adding that on as an aside bc my gast was flabbered. And the audacity for it to be a decent apology, but I will NEVER believe it!!
No one tells you that one day you will get older and look around and notice that 95% of ppl who own a dog should not own a dog
I could talk for hours about how special you are to me
But on this bitter day I’ll just say that I miss you so much
I’ll always love you and you’ll always be my role model
RIP Randy

Thinking about your blog a lot. Considering that we might need to reconsider the term "Native American", and just go with "American", and for whites we go with "European American".
That's an interesting idea. I often find myself wondering how best to differentiate between culturally divergent groups of people on this continent. For the most part, there is a world of difference between a German living in Germany, and a German who has chosen to move to the US and abandon their native culture and language to favor imperial/colonial culture (the average European is far more educated, thoughtful, and emotionally mature, than the average "european american," I'm sure we've all noticed.) White people are far from the only ones to reject their unique customs and values, to adopt those of capitalist exploitation, and since this type of person tends to vociferously self identify as "American" (an invented ethnic identity) I feel it would confuse many of my points to use this term to refer exclusively to indigenous people. Personally, I don't typically call myself an American, I think of myself as being Muskogee if anything.

What are the stars made of? At 25, Cecilia Payne answered this fundamental question in her Ph.D. thesis.
Amazing.
so. not to doxx myself (i've talked about this here before though) but i live in Kansas. and my license was just revoked very suddenly and immediately because i'm trans and had changed my gender marker.
so now i cannot legally drive or vote until/unless i let them force me to carry around a card that misgenders me and outs me as trans, because i certainly don't look female anymore.
so hey if you have the means and want to help with any of this, please consider donating to the ACLU of Kansas because they are at least going to try to do something to push back against this, and i'm such a panicky wreck that the only thing i can do to get through my immediate gut reaction to having my license revoked tonight (i cannot stress enough that i received the letter today saying that my license is no longer valid tomorrow) is focus on the fact that there's at least one entity trying to protect me and my fellow trans kansans.
