Khommissions are open! 2/5 slots!
Also as a fun little tidbit, I will soon be taking Paw Commissions too as well as selling premades!
You can find me in the dealers den here!
And we’re done with a second set! These ones a did a little bit of patten altering, claws and splotchy paws!
I’ll also be opening up a few slots for custom paws (only 3 right now) which will be $300 AUD for the USA (this includes shipping) and $250 AUD for everywhere else.
If you have any questions or would like to know my TOS feel free to send me a message!
I’ll have a proper post for comms soon but just thought I’d open a few cheap slots to get into it! I’ll also be doing tails and feet paws soon!
Okay so, I’m making another pair.
These ones I’d be trying a few more things! Including claws, and splotchy beans! These ones I’d also have a hand doing a small amount of patterning as I wanted the grey to be a more triangular shape.
Now I will say I did forget to take as many progress photos but I have a few.
So to start here are the main paw pads I did using a brown and pink minky. These were a lot simpler to make than I thought and in turn, turned out fantastic!
All in all, the first paw turned out great, the shaving isn’t as good as my last pair, but that’s the fine detail for when you look up close.
I do plan to making another post with both of them and it being a little more photoshoot esk like last time as well!
And to top it all off, a photoshoot! Curtesy of my amazing partner @gorloss
Can’t wait to ship these out to @notdysfunk !! Hope you all enjoy the photos!
And we're all done!
These were super fun to make! And honestly after making my first one, I feel like my second one improved really well! I would like to say there's took me 2 and a half full days of work to complete. Sitting down at 9am and finishing at around 5 pm (It would vary from day to day) And honestly I can kind of get why some people would opt for a sewing machine in a lot of parts. Personally a lot of parts I did chose to hand sew despite being able to use my sewing machine, purely because I didn't want my machine to eat the fur and then my life would be over. All in all, these were super fun to make and soon, I'll be packaging them up and sending them over to @notdysfunk. And to you, my favourite green dawg. You're a gem, thanks for being my podcast for low key 3 days straight LMAO. I'll be making another set of paws soon!
And we're done with one!
So, today we finished the first paw I have ever made!
One fully lined, cuffed paw! This was MOSTLY hand sewn for the control and strength factor! I've already started the second one, and I will say, this first one EVER is far from perfect, but I'm super happy and pround of it!
I hope to have a small photo shoot of them both ready soon! And I plan on making a few before offering anything selling wise, but I'm having fun and that's what matters! More to come! I promise! And don't forget, I'll be starting the head of my Sheep sona soon too!
Here we are, yet again :3
So, we started off today by sewing on those paw pads! This one was really fun to do, and honestly I feel like for a first attempt EVER I did a pretty good job at it!
The front and back! Honestly, I wish I did have proper scissors for cutting these out. I don't have any applique scissors, only thread scissors which.. did the job but also I did have 1 or two casualties with the fur from it.
Then of course after cutting it all out, I sealed the edges with a zigzag stitch and picked out all the hair fibres! Personally I used the edge of a comb to pull the all back and they came out super easily!. I also cut holes in the back to put the squeaker and stuffing in! Then onto the fun part. Hand stitching all those beans together.
I ended up doing them in lots of twos. and my word, it did take a while. I think the fear of destroying my sewing machine was so real that I bit the bullet and just did it all by hand. I'll be darned if I destroy my brand new machine with green fur.
So I sewed... and sewed...
And through the magic of the internet we're done. Let my just say, Dys and I just chatting for hours TRULY helped the process. So far, I have NOT listening to music making these but Dys is a yapper, so therefore, I was fine. Haha ILY DYSSS /p So, I then machine stitched up one of the sides, added a minky cuff and then went onto making the lining. Sadly, for me, I got so much in the zone i forgot to take photos. But I will say, My choice of doing the beans first by hand and then being able to use my machine for a hot minute was kind of the strat for me. Everyone has different workflow though, just dont forget important steps <3
And with that, We had a lining and a fully crafted paw ready to make me struggle in getting that little guy right way out. It was SUPER worth it though.
My Ipad was about to die, but I managed to get a video of the squeaker! Honestly, there's a lot I learned just from making the 1 paw! I still need to finish up the lining but I hope soon, I'll have a full set of paws to show in the next few days! TLDR: Paw is funny
It's that time Again
My fur finally arrived. after what felt like an ETERNITY of waiting for this slow post. It was worth it Let me tell you, I was so excited for this process. I went right into it.
So, because we wanted the short hair fingers, I cut out a slab first to shave the fur and work on these one's being shorter.
Separately I added the wrist and hand fur so they could be long and fluffy! The other thing I was noticing was the cutting out of the fur, I did opt for using a box cutting just so I didn't accidentally get any of the fur that I didn't want to.
And boom! Just like that we have some furry paw pieces! As for putting these together, I opted for a secure hand stitch known as a blanket stitch.
Don't mind the lighting change, it started getting dark and I needed the light. But I did a stress test as much as it made me nervous and damn these are not going to be falling apart any time soon!
I got so zoned in I did forget to take a lot of pictures but I used clips to hold all my pieces together and with the minky I securely pinned it all down ready for machine sewing tomorrow!
With the minky specifically, to make sure it was all layed flat I made sure to pit it but pushing my needles into the table then back out again! This is a trick I use for making my garments! Other than that, it's all for tomorrow to deal with! TLDR: Furry moment. I'm tired but whateves
So, as I'm waiting for shipments, Have some Sona sheets of me and my partner plus some head base plans!!
Welcome back for part 2
As in my previous little.. blog thing, I have gone on with Part 2 of this adventure. Same as last time, lots of typing, TLDR at the end <3
So, After talking with my friend we had the dilemma of colours. Now, the Green Dawg as I like to call them belonging to @notdysfunk is a light green, sometimes bright, sometimes less saturated. This can work with you, or against you.
Dys made some mock ups of the fur colours I had available and the minky I was able to get my hands on, and let me tell you. It's rough out here in Australia for fursuiters.
Now, There are some amazing websites that I was looking at that had every colour under the sun with 5 different tones and saturation levels. But sadly, I do NOT have the funds for $80 in shipping.
Making do with this, we decided on the middle colour variant of both lime.
The Green Dawg doesn't actually have paw pads, so when making paws.. well.. you still want the squishy look but not the colour difference from paw pad to fur, which honestly, pretty good that these match so closely in colour for us to work with. Moving on from mock ups after purchasing the fabrics, I have some wait time to sort out some other things. How am I going to be making these?
If I'm being honest, I'm not confident in making my own patterns just yet, I can sew quite a bit however, this is new territory for me.
I was however able to find a pattern for some great looking 4 finger paws and cloven hooves that I can use later over on Etsy by Sonstafurs.
These are not only a life saver for time, but also will eventually help me understand making my own patterns and being able to draft them when the time comes.
The pattern came with instructions and we were all good to go, we went with the star pawpad for these ones!
Aside from patterns and fur, there were a few other things I needed for this project; polyfill (stuffing), clippers or a shaver and a slicker pet comb.
Now, I'm on a bit of a budget right now, so finding stuff that would work for me was a little bit tricky, but I managed. I was able to get all 3 of those items for $26 roughly at my local store.
These pillows SPECIFICALLY were a god send, and honestly the best value. These 2 pillows were only $4 and that for me is a steal as I was going to spend almost DOUBLE that for the same about at a local craft store.
The hair clippers were only $19 and the slicker was only $3.50. Now, these may not be the BEST quality and if they end up exploding after a few uses, I will NOT be bothered by this. If I did do this long term, I would get upgrades eventually but We'll have to see where life takes me at that point. Aside from that, this is my current update for the fursuit journey! TLDR: Broke fursuiter found stuff for cheap, waiting on fabric. :)
Hello goofy goobers. We're going down a rabbit hole.
Please note, this post will have some typing. TLDR at the end <3
Recently, I've gone down the furry rabbit hole, as some may have noticed who look at my blog once in a blue moon. However, I've decided I have a new hobby or fixation if you will. Fursuits. Now before I scare you off, Let me explain my goofy little brain. Ever since I was a wee lad, I have loved sewing. I make a lot of my own garments and cosplays in my spare time. Now this got me thinking, I've never really been a furry, not fully. I've ATTEMPTED to make a fursuit before but then school hit me like a bus, I moved house and sadly the base I made is now an old photo from 2017.
As one might imagine, for a youngin' right here, being a fresh 17 yro, I look back and I'm like damn gurl. that's kinda fire. It wasn't professional, and by all means it wasn't done, but i look at this and I go, I could do so much better now.
This leaves it up to the rabbit hole. fursuit making, tutorials and other things I've been looking at for hours upon hours of consumed media to give it a go again. From 17 to now being in my mid 20's, I've picked up a lot of skills, finished school, have a lot of passions, hobbies but most of all, Free time. I've recently moved in with my partner who has been fuelling my delusions with encouragement and astonishment.
This leaves the big reveal. Let's make another one with my fursona.
Baa, let's get it.
Now a lot of people may be thinking. 'Khowell, you PSYCHO. why not start with say a dog or a fox?' something simple to cut and work with. Well, I am a psycho that loves a challenge. I suppose this is going to be somewhat of a mini series on my TikTok and on my tumblr of just?? Making this dream come to life. I'm going to be starting with making my first set of paws for a friend, @notdysfunk
I've purchased materials, got all the goods, and will soon begin making something I thought was just going to be a glimpse. But, if you're interested, which I hope you are, I hope you have fun reading along and share some interest in this adventure too :)
TLDR: Psycho (ME) is going to make a sheep fursuit after 10 years of not making one.
Some current concept works for a project I'm working on. Nothing too special at the moment but if you're curious the characters are Vexel (The Hyena boy) and Sila (The cat girl). I've been simplifying their design a little for the ease of drawing and just tried speedrunning drawing for my sake. There's a few other character's I'll need to get through as well though. :3c
Final designs for sunnemoon except I didn’t clean up the colors
My dress up dolls ☀️🌙
The jester pants and ribbons stay ON. It’s part of the appeal
This is mostly just an FBD reference for me but eh might as well post it here too. I’ll probably draw the dca in other outfits here and there but I’ll be defaulting to these most of the time, I like putting them in silly lil outfits hehehehe
Idk who was the first with the “DCA as teachers” idea but I absolutely love it, it just makes so much sense to me. Get apron’d
Some recent work I've been doing, just some sketches here and there. Here we have a dog. He's friendly, you can pet him-
And some more commission work I've been doing too. Guhh. ..
That's all 4 NOW vanishes
