I have a lot of things to say regarding Lena, the recent comic, and this rp blog. First off, I want to say that I adored the new comic. It was cute and I loved to see Lena zip around to find a present, meanwhile Winston worried about her, and it was also sad because we got to see the other characters having not answered the recall and were off on their own (Mccree, Ana, Morrison, etc.) But the most important thing is that Tracer now has a girlfriend and with that was recently confirmed by Blizzard as a lesbian. It makes me happy to hear that Tracer is the first LGBT+ character confirmed in Overwatch, and I know everyone was waiting to hear about it from Blizzard, poking and prodding them for their answer, and we finally got it in a comic with a big panel of Tracer kissing her girlfriend lovingly.
But, now here comes the bad news, which I’ll put under a cut:

But, now here comes the bad news, which I’ll put under a cut:
I am happy, but I have to admit that I was also devastated that she wasn’t confirmed as bisexual. At some point getting into Overwatch, I fell in love with Lena because she reminded me a lot of myself -- from her giggling and hyperactivity to her joking about her own trauma and doing so much but somehow getting the unlucky draw -- and I ended up projecting a lot of myself onto her along with my own worries and problems. She didn’t quite have an established story, she was like a blank slate, and I began to fill in the spaces for her, letting myself fall right in. I made her my own, put a lot of thought into her, and I have notes upon notes of her history from when she was a child to the RAF to Overwatch to Recall and so on and so on... I gave her life by making her more complex than what the game gave us -- to me, she was more cynical than she let on. To me, she had PTSD because of what happened from the Slipstream. To me, she was depressed because much like Reaper, she couldn’t die due to the fact her body was in a constant state between existing and not. To me, she was bisexual because that is how I identify and I could honestly see her with any member in Overwatch because she was so likable, and I had included that sexuality in the backstory I made for her.
I knew whatever I came up with was never going to come close to whatever Blizzard had planned (especially since their own storyline doesn’t make any sense either), but I had at least hoped for Lena to be bisexual. At first, when the comic came out, I had planned on just ignoring Emily’s presence because she didn’t fit with my story for Lena, but once it was confirmed that Tracer was a lesbian then I knew I couldn’t ignore it. I know it’s silly, it might seem dramatic even, but because I had put so much thought into Lena, put parts of myself into her such as my own sexuality, having something big like that confirmed created a big dissonance between her and I. It gave me anxiety. I lied in bed for hours and felt Lena’s presence become foreign.
I could stick to my own headcanons, keep her bisexual because that’s how I’ve always seen her. This rp blog was always canon divergent with ideas in it that I haven’t seen others talk about, and I still have ideas that haven’t been brought to light because I haven’t gotten around to it -- but I think for my own mental health, it’s best to let go of Lena, at least here on tumblr. I’m truly sorry to those that were looking forward to me coming back, I had full intentions to and I was in the process of remaking my theme and learning code! I had even made four potential backgrounds and had an autoplay list in mind, but I really think it’s best for me to leave Lena on tumblr rp. I know it would have made some people uncomfortable if I didn’t change my Lena to fit the canon, and it would just have given me more anxiety because I would be unwilling to change her because this Lena was something I had made myself for myself.
I still love Lena with all my heart and I’m very thankful to have had the opportunity to rp with so many kind and amazing people! I’m very grateful to have met you all. I felt so happy when I made this rp blog and was able to create stories with everyone. I may be leaving this rp blog, but that doesn’t mean I have to stop rping because I know I still want to rp my version of Lena with people who already know her. Recently, I’ve actually come to prefer discord more because it’s a bit more informal and allows me to respond quicker.

@honorpledged: FOX!!! i really, really love your rein and although we couldn’t rp much on tumblr, i’ll always look forward to rping with your rein on the recall server! i absolutely love the dynamic we have between him and lena since they’re so alike and share stories about sucky military bases. i love your rein, but i also love you too!! you’re one of the funniest people i know and i’ve said multiple times that i think you’re really witty and i mean it! also, you already know i love u lots because i’m still making ur scarf that has a Lot of Character
@coyotefaced: quin we haven’t really rp’d much here, but we have talked a bunch ooc and plotted so much stuff! i wanted to rp more threads with you that developed both jesse and lena -- i still remember thay time you suggested jesse and lena had a brotp moment w/ jesse teaching lena how to spin her guns and how COULD I FORGET THEM REENACTING REVOLVER OCELOT’S GUNSPINNING. i hope we can still talk or rp on discord because your jesse is just so complex?? all those headcanons you told me about him make my heart weep... and i’m a sucker for angst
@segadxr: jones i want to thank you for your bombtastic reyes. i love your reyes so much! clutches chest and you thought lena was charming and even wanted to ship with me... i’ll always remember the interactions we’ve had between lena and gabe because its always both hilarious and endearing. i love gabe’s reactions to lena trying to hug him or constantly calling him her best friend or when she starts giving him a long list about why she respects him. i also want to thank you in general because without you, i wouldn’t have joined the pre-explosion rp server and had all those great times with everyone! thank you jones!!!

@seistiro: and last but not least, leon. i know i’ve said it a million times, and i would say it a million times more, but i’m so, so, so lucky and grateful to have rp’d on tumblr with you and to continue rping with you on discord. i’ll always remember our first interaction together where i sent you a torture prompt and you delivered (i still owe you a drabble of lena torturing jesse in return!!). i absolutely adore your jesse, all the versions of him we’ve come up togerher thanks to all our aus. we plotted out jesse and lena’s story practically from beginning to end and infinite. your jesse is so kind but firm and knows how to speak his mind, and you always pull at my heartstrings by making him sad or making him do something stupid which MAKES HIM SAD, and lena is always there to support him through thick and thin. i love how they fell in love in their golden years, how they helped piece each other back together after recall, and after that they stuck together and loved each other through infinity. i love all our worlds we’ve created for them and i hope we can continue developing those worlds or making new ones.
I want to thank everyone again. You don’t know how happy I was to have been able to rp Lena here with everyone, even if it was only for a short time, I was able to meet fantastic people and create memories with them. I am sad to let Lena go here, but I think it’s something I have to do for my well being.

Hello! I’m currently in a discord server rp for Overwatch that takes place during Recall and we thought it would be a great idea to recruit more people in!
However, we’re highly selective so we’re going to be looking at applications. How do you apply? Just give this post a like and we’ll look at your blog!
Just some notes:
- It’s an rp server that’s mostly plot driven - it features characters talking in a chatroom, as well as meeting face to face (we have specific channels for those and are where para rps take place).
- We are not accepting duplicates of any characters.
- Shipping is alright, but should not be forced on anyone (we currently have Mccree/Tracer and Reinhardt/Solder:76)
- OCs are welcome to apply!
- Characters that are with Talon or against Overwatch are not recommended to join due to the nature of the rp. We don’t want there to be a divide in the chat and for people to feel left out. The chat is among members of Overwatch.

hi everyone, sorry about the unexpected hiatus. i had to focus on my studies and couldn’t find any time to log on and muster up any energy to write replies ;;

within the clean quarters of the former crusader, a soul may find the likes of an enormous stuffed bear, cloaked in armor very much resembling his own. it sat upon a table of its own, organized and without anything other than itself, affectionately deemed reinbear ———— occasionally the companion to handfuls of tales spun from the mind of the german in his solitude, or songs in the same manner. such a gift was received from the very same woman standing before him, brandishing a comically large, stuffed hammer to complete the visage of his plush counterpart.
with a bellowing laugh did he take up the hammer, twisting it in his hand to admire the attention to detail. in wrinkled eyes and a flash of teeth from ear to ear was shown his gratitude. ‘ hah ——— ! you even put the switch at the right spot ! ’ he thumbed over the trigger for his flame strike, grinning with pride at the authenticity of such a small replica. with a playful bop to her head using the hammer, he extended a hand towards her back, rounding her in for a hug. ‘ it’s going to look wonderful with reinbear, häschen. i can’t thank you enough for such a wonderful gift ! ’
