Think about yourself
Cancer
Have you ever been kicked in the stomach so hard you felt winded? That pain lasted me ages when I heard my dear brother had cancer You lurk around for years and then you spread like a plague, just like storm that slowly erupts through the clouds You are an evil little lump which keeps growing, sucking in every little ounce of energy You keep multiplying, turning into poison as you make your way through the veins You are an evil spirit which just won't let go Wish there was a way that we could kill you forever Still feel winded as someone has kicked me in the stomach

Depression
The sad news of Robin Williams' suicide has catapulted the topic of depression into the limelight of the national media. Depression is a serious, often debilitating, sometimes fatal illness that can affect anyone - even the funniest, most uplifting souls. Depression should not be dismissed, nor should those who suffer be labelled selfish, as often happens. It can affect any of us and all of us - we should strive to be more understanding, tolerant and supportive when a fellow human being is suffering.
