My (proven) belief at the moment is that by not knowing when you’ll shift, you know exactly when you’ll shift
(And I say proven because I shifted again last night. This time it followed the same logic I’ve been talking about where I just set the intention to shift and leave it at that. It was maybe 3 AM, and I just laid there thinking about other stuff. At some point, I slipped into a lucid dream without meaning to, and from there I shifted. So yeah....proof in practice).
Anyway, imagine someone wants to shift (but this goes for manifestation in general). They go online and see a post that reads “Omg guys, I did the Raven method last night and it worked, I shifted!”
And they’re like “bet, I’m gonna try that tonight.” So they crawl into bed, starfish position locked and loaded, count to 100, and… nothing. No shift. Just them lying there upset, like “why does this never work for me? Why is my brain allergic to methods?” Then, by accident, they have a random lucid dream that night—and they actually shift from there.
And of course, they run back online all excited like: “Guys, I shifted through a lucid dream!!”
Cue another person reading that post, who’s also been struggling, and they’re like, okay, THAT’S the key, I just have to lucid dream first. So they spend nights trying to lucid dream, fail, can’t shift, spiral into frustration. Then out of nowhere they remember this old method they tried once upon a time, one that gave them some symptoms. And they think “screw it, let’s try that again. And what happens? They shift.
Now they run online screaming: “Guys!! The APPLE METHOD worked!! I ate an apple before bed, affirmed I’d eat apples in my DR too, and woke up there!”
And naturally, another person sees that post, and thinks “oh my god, that’s genius, I’ll try the apple thing tonight”. They do it, wake up still in their CR, and they’re like “Wow, guess that doesn’t work for me either.” And then they have the most random night ever. They’re half-asleep scrolling on their phone, not even doing a method, and they drift off. And somehow, without even trying, they shift.
Then they pop back up and make a post, like “Guys, I didn’t even use a method, I just fell asleep naturally and I shifted!”
Now someone else sees that and goes “Ohhh, so I just need to not use methods at all, I need to just go to sleep naturally and I’ll shift.” So they put their phone down, roll over, and just… go to sleep. They wake up in their CR. Nothing happens. They’re pissed, like “How come that worked for them and not for me?!”
So then they decide “okay, maybe I should try using subliminals.” They put on subliminals every night, get tingles, feel good, but never actually shift. Weeks pass. They give up, stop listening to subliminals. And then one random night, they shift.
And when they come back they’re like “Guys, subliminals actually worked for me!! You just have to use them for a while and then take a break.”
And then, of course, someone else reads that and thinks “Ohhh, so that’s the formula. Use subliminals for a while, then stop, and then it happens.” They try it, religiously. Nothing. So now they turn to the law of assumption. They assume up, down, left, and right that they’re already in their DR. Then—after three long years—they shift.
Cue them writing a tell-all post about how the law of assumption is all you need. Another person reads it, applies it themselves to absolutely no avail, and quit shifting.
And then, through quitting, they immediately shift. Then they run back online adding another post to the pool of possibilities™, talking about how giving up was their key to shifting.
Cue someone else seeing this, trying to give up as a method—even though they absolutely do not want to give up—and nothing. No shift. They’re frustrated all over again. And then when they least expect it,, when they’re sick with a cold and passed out on cough syrup—they shift.
And when they come back, they go online and write “Guys, I shifted while I was sick! It’s called the Cold Medicine Method. Just get sick, drink NyQuil, and boom! you’ll be in your DR.”
And the cycle never stops. Next thing you know, multiple people are pounding NyQuil and meeting the hat man.
Let me engrain this in your head so deep that you don’t forget it: you are never, ever, ever going to see the shift coming. And that’s the most comforting thing in the world, because the moment will always blindside you in the best way.
You can plan it out exactly as you want, script down to the atom, you can do affirmations, you can stick to the law of assumption, you can run yourself ragged night after night—and yeah, maybe it can work that way. But even when it does, you’ll still be sitting there like “Holy shit… it actually worked.” Because you will never see it coming. Even if you do assume you’ll see it coming, I guarantee that you’ll still be floored by how powerful you are.
The beauty of this whole thing is that it sneaks up on you, even when you planned for it to sneak up on you. You can have gut feelings and intuition, but even then, it’s going to knock the wind out of you when it happens.
And it’s so easy to fall into the trap of saying “oh, I guess I don’t control my reality, I’m just at the mercy of it. But no. That’s not it at all. You’re not being dragged through the mud by fate. You do control reality through intention, through observation, through the decision that [this] is where I’m going.
You want to shift, and so you will shift. The problem comes when you hand that power away, when you start believing you’re at the mercy of methods, or of what worked for someone else, or of advice scattered online.
What if you’re not meant to know when you’ll shift—and through knowing that you won’t know—you do know?
(Bear with me). So you’re not throwing away your desire, you’re releasing the expectation of how and when it has to show up.
And there’s the paradox, because the very moment you release that expectation and trying, you’re stepping into the exact energy that allows it to happen. Because shifting comes when you least expect it, right? So by letting go of trying to micromanage the “how” and “when,” you’re naturally aligning with the way it actually unfolds.
Got it? You’re no longer blocking it, you’re pulling it closer without even trying, simply because you’ve matched the state it requires.
Like I said before, letting it go doesn’t mean forgetting about shifting, quitting, or forgoing methods. It’s not abandoning the process, because it’s actually the opposite. It’s you still doing your method, still affirming, still visualizing, still doing whatever feels natural to you. The difference is, you’re not clinging to it with fear and doubt.
It feels backwards, I know....and discard it if you want to, because it almost sounds like sabotage,, but the moment you accept the possibility that you’ll wake up in your CR tomorrow, that your method could “fail,” you’re dissolving the fear that’s been holding you hostage. You’ve already embraced the worst-case scenario, so it no longer has power over you. And funny enough, that’s when things start to happen.
Yes, by the law of assumption you’d think it’s all about locking yourself into the state of “already having,” and that’s true,, but pairing that with acceptance of the fear creates a balance. You’re not fighting yourself anymore when you know you have it, you know it’s yours, and you also embrace the opposite with “whatever, if I fail I fail, at least I’m trying” energy.
Strangely enough, that freedom is exactly the energy you feel when you start shifting consistently....now that I think about it.
