if i had to explain what tumblr is like i’d only show this
No one seems to be acknowledging the far funnier element of this, which is, that when you go to the commenter’s account, you find out they are actually fucking roleplaying as a sexually repressed skeleton and jjst really committed to the bit while everyone in the reblogs is talking about how much they hate minors or trying to bring back asexual discourse or whatever. thank you kharak the skeleton servant of the almighty lich king

Level-Up Your Witchcraft
Find ways to practice daily. Start small with more energy manageable spellwork, like daily tea/kitchen magic. Try out planetary magic to help plan spells and rituals ahead of time. Daily practice helps novice witches to grow their abilities to hand and manipulate energy in greater capacities.
Daily prayer. Remember, praying doesn’t always have to be directed towards spirits or deities. Praying for your own personal power is extremely empowering. Here’s a great video from one of my favorite magical mentors on the topic.
Wear a crystal or oil programed as a magical enhancer to help amplify your will while casting. This was a game changer for me.
Discover & follow your path. Many witches are encouraged to learn many casting methods and types of magic when they are beginning their journey. I considered myself an eclectic witch for eight years before realizing what speciality of witchcraft fit best with me. Once a practitioner focuses on their most suitable path, things feel like they unlock naturally and magic feels more intense.
Read witchcraft adjacent nonfiction. As you dive deeper into most practices, what’s useful won’t be a correspondence cheat sheet or a spell book, but actual history and science. Reading books on quantum physics has helped me develop my own magical theory. Historical & geological references can help witches connect with their ancestral magic. When witches open their view of magic to include everything around them, any topic can become magical exploration and information for the grimoire. Correspondences can be discovered the old fashioned way, through discernment and for yourself.
Routine spell management. Reinforce wards or cast spells routinely in whatever manner works best for you. That could be weekly, monthly, or seasonally. Are you routinely cleansing under the New Moon? Maybe your wards are cast seasonally.
Write your own spells. Everyone loves a good spell book, but if all your casting are other people’s spells, you may not be reaching your full potential.
Meditate. Fifteen minutes a day will unlock more than you ever dreamed possible. I read in a mindfulness book once that meditating eliminates resistance, allowing what you’ve been asking for to flow into your life uninhibited. It also enhances your intuition and recalibrates your mind and body.
Master a method of divination. Tarot, runes, anything! Divination allows the witch to answer their own questions regarding spellwork, better plan, and communicate with allied spirits. It’s the first thing I would tell a young witch to learn.

Why are traditional spells so goddamn weird?
Because ancient grimoires reflect the reality of their time.
Old love spells often require you to take something from your target because photographs did not exist yet. Even once they did, it was much simpler to grab a hair from someone’s coat than to steal their photograph from inside their home.
And who else would you cast a spell on if not the guy next door who would be so easy to borrow a handkerchief from? People’s worlds were small. There was no social media, TV or frequent travel. The only men most women were interested in were the ones right in front of them.
Many ancient vengeance spells require the body parts of a hanged man because such corpses littered the streets back then. They would be left there for months, even years, to deter people from committing crime. Cutting a piece of their skin was as easy as picking an apple from a tree.
Animal sacrifice too was rampant because livestock were valuables. People’s wealth was measured mostly through the size of their land and the number of cows in their farm. Not through the model of their Apple Watch or the carat of gold in their necklace — things that some offer as sacrifice these days.
This truth is not restricted to spells. It applies to things like literature too. Poets could write hundreds upon hundreds of words about trees and rivers alone because they are what surrounded them back then. Now we are surrounded by malls, McDonald’s and Starbucks. That is why today’s poets often write metaphors about coffee, shopping and whatnot.
When reading ancient grimoires, keep that in mind. These witches’ reality was different from ours. Although, in traditional witchcraft, the goal is to stay true to the old path. As true as sensibility allows.
When adapting old-school folk magic, what can you do now that is based on the same principles and is similarly convenient?

tip jar
i have zero empathy for little boys being misogynists. i was a kid too, but my focus was towards drawing and reading, not hating on minorities.
“they’re children!” so are the girls they terrorise
I have started calling it "monkey see monkey do misogyny" not because these little shits aren't a danger to other children but because I'm so sick of people reacting like "he's too young to truly MEAN it" and I don't care because I'm not worried about his immortal soul or whatever. I care about the girls who have to hear the exact same words in the exact same order as a grown man who hates them, in class. And then be expected to concentrate on long division.

But the frogs die in earnest."

Different answer from Tenten
I can't believe anyone would think Neji had one of the greatest developments in the manga. He went from 'hating the main branch for valid reasons' to 'I guess it's okay now that Hiashi trains me,' and finally to 'I'll die for the main branch so I can share the same fate as my father.'
It should have been Hiashi who died protecting Neji and Hinata. Neji didn't need to prove that he was 'willing to sacrifice everything for his family'. He represented the promise that things could change in Konoha (& additionally the clan). That was his arc. Hiashi sacrificing his life to protect the daughter he once thought was useless and the nephew he manipulated would have been a significant development. Not just for him, but for the clan too. It would have shown that the clan can change and recognize everyone as worthy and equal.
But Neji died for shock value, while his abuser (I'm talking about Hiashi) remains alive. What a great development for him (it's not).
me holding a gun to a mushroom: tell me the name of god you fungal piece of shit
mushroom: can you feel your heart burning? can you feel the struggle within? the fear within me is beyond anything your soul can make. you cannot kill me in a way that matters
me cocking the gun, tears streaming down my face: I’M NOT FUCKING SCARED OF YOU
Hey OP? What the FUCK does this mean?
decay exists as an extant form of life
That’s a terrifying answer, have a nice day
