"Hello! I’m @toriofthetrees AKA Victoria Holland (she/her)! I’m an author by day and the Water Has Memory director by night! I’ve been a huge fantasy fan since childhood, and Frozen was right up my alley when it was released. I was in my sophomore year in college when the first movie was released, and it was quite a powerful experience because up to that point, it was very hard for me to relate to characters who were of my own gender. I always related more with men, which was kind of a lonely experience because fiction was how I coped with a lot of things growing up. When I discovered Elsa, it was like staring myself in the face; only with blue eyes, white-blond hair, and snow springing from her fingertips. I understood her from head-to-toe, from her personality, to her trauma, to the power she wielded, to her relationship with her sister…

She was beautiful.

That solidified my love for Frozen. It is my favorite story of all-time and when the 10th Anniversary came around, I was the one who approached the Frozen fandom on tumblr to celebrate it! I really had no hard ideas, just a desire to come together with the community to create something beautiful. A few fans came together on a discord server of my making and after we had settled on Water Has Memory as the project, they voted for me to be the lead on the project. That was really nice of them, and I did my very best to fill the role as well as I could. I helped formulate the concept for the project, I wrote and scripted, contributed my own piece, made the final call on major decisions, ran the blog, and tried my best to honor the voice of everyone involved.

I have to say that this one of the best teams I’ve ever worked with. They are a really passionate group. I know that some people may praise how well they work (and their work ethic is impeccable), but I love most of all how supportive they all are. They love Frozen as much as I do, and that really is what brought us all together.

Thanks Team! Thanks to those who shared their memories! And thanks to those who supported us!

"Hi, I’m Myth, aka @secretsofthestorymakers on tumblr (she/her, 19)! I first watched Frozen on opening weekend when I was 8 and have loved it ever since. I joined the fandom last summer, and have really enjoyed getting to know others who love Frozen just like me!

I joined the Water Has Memory team on October 16 2023, after @toriofthetrees invited me! I mostly helped with marketing, as I wrote most of the yearly spotlights. It’s been so fun to get to connect with other Frozen fans and work together to create something like this fanzine!"

I’m so excited to finally be able to share this news! We will have an official, Disney authorized/published, post-Frozen 2 novel, starring Anna and Elsa, coming out next fall, co-written by myself and Jen Calonita (Conceal Don’t Feel.) She does the Anna chapters and I do the Elsa chapters. It’s a spooky tale featuring a mythological creature of Nordic legend that threatens Arendelle and the sisters must team up to save the kingdom. (Of course, since it’s Frozen, there’s also a lot of humor!) Lots of familiar faces to be found - Kristoff, Olaf, Sven, the Nokk, Bruni, etc., but at its heart it is the story of two sisters and their shared adventure.

Woohoo, finally! Thank you @marimancusi I’ve been starved waiting for some post Frozen II content, it’s been like. Forever 😂 I’m even stoked that you’re pulling from Nordic legend, which pleases me because as someone who is of Nordic descent, it genuinely makes me excited to see the folklore of my ancestors get touched upon in modern media. But I can say I do have concerns, as well as my other colleagues, and this is in no way to discredit you. First of which is that since this creature is from Nordic legend, it gets the proper portayal of such because like many other cultures, it’s part of our heritage, and we don’t usually respect those that just slap it on there just for. The next is about Elsa because the finale of the sequel was very divisive amongst people so I, along with many others, hope there is (in a sense) better clarification for why Elsa stayed with the Northuldra, along with what she actually does around the forest, because there is often commotion that Elsa was made to be this Winter Jesus figure with no humanity, which I know isn’t the case.

Elsa would be Winter obviously(and was born on the winter solstice of 1819, December 22), Rapunzel would be Spring, Anna would be Summer(also being born on the summer solstice in 1822, June 21) and Merida would be Autumn.

To any new writers: Be brave! Take the plunge and post your fics - the world can’t wait to read them, and I’m sure they’re wonderful! And if you’ve already done so, then congratulations, and welcome to the world of writing!

To any old writers: Thank you, and keep going! Your fics are appreciated and enjoyed, and hopefully whatever comes next is as loved as it deserves to be!

To the popular writers: Well done on getting your work out there! It’s wonderful to see fics with so many notes, and I hope your next fic is just as appreciated!

To the writers who get 3 notes: Your work is no less amazing than those who get thousands of notes. Keep going, because there are people who adore what you write. You are fantastic and loved.

To the writers who post fics regularly: You are incredible, and should be both admired and feared. Well done for your wonderful work ethic, and for bringing quality writing to your fandoms!

To the writers who update irregularly: You are brilliant. Writing is hard, and just because you don’t update frequently doesn’t detract from the fact that you’re incredible people who are writing for nothing but pleasure. I hope your writing is going well, and that you know that your fics (and you!) are loved.

There's one thing I find horrible and that my immediately angered during my first viewing of Frozen 2. 

It's that when Elsa sees the ice memories, she dances and laughs for the Duke of Weselton while he call her a monster in front of everyone and wanted to kill her.

And for Hans, she denigrates him, destroys his ice status (noted that it is the only time or Elsa has a physical interaction with one of the ice status) while he defends it and reminds him what it really is. 

There is a constant disregard for Hans's character, whether it's The Frozen 2 or the way the character is treated in other media. I'm so sad about that. I would have so much that Hans would be better treated whether it was by Disney and its creators but also by some of the fandom of Frozen. 

I'd like to know what you think? Because it's interesting all the same.
