Despite his talent and courage hes always seen as "the second", living in Liu Kang's shadow and is constantly being compared to other heroes. He was killed multiple times in diff timelines, manipulated and resurrected by dark forces, and genuinely never had the chance to be recognized for his own accomplishments.

Stuck in a cycle of fighting, dying, coming back, he carries the burden of everything that has happened and the frustration of never being able to be number one. FUCK.
