imma start with her name first, which is mithi, it could mean two things; dream or desire. it was perfect for her because she's a girl filled with dreams and a girl who desires but it is also ironic
she dreams to have magic — she desires to have magic.
her ancient magic wasn't a dream, it was her desire — her dream was to belong to her mom's side of the family, her desire was magic. she started turning to Gods, ancestors and entities out there for an ounce or even just a shred of magic flowing beneath her veins
when she got her ancient magic, ofc she was overjoyed BUT THE PRICE SHE HAD TO PAY? she wanted to be normal again after that — at first, she thought she deserved it because a) she wanted it so much, b) suffering was punishment for provoking beings out there. my baby girl just wanted to feel excitement in her bones, to belong because she didn't know where to go. THE FACT is she knows that everything comes with a price. Her ancient magic was so uncontrollable that when she started to use it more and more, normal spells also started to hurt.
her own magic inside her was denying her because she was denying it first. SHE hasn't accepted it as her own — she hasn't accepted that magic doesn't have morals, that it will take and it will give — she only realized that after the war. She only realized that after she lost some of her friends.
her relationships with Sallow and Weasley for now;;
Sebastian Sallow — holyyy fack, angst and doom but there was that puppy love, that hope that one day, they'll get out of it, that their love for one another will be enough BUT it wasn't enough – he never saw her for what she truly is, that she is also just fifteen, he had put her on a pedestal — that he told her that she could also depend on him but Sebastian, she was facing the other way when you we're holding her. It was already too late when he had noticed, she was already walking away from him and yes, he could wait but it'll never be enough hejwhdj
Garreth Weasley - oh my days,, he was Bella's first crush,, she admired him a lot. Garreth didn't know how to feel at first but then he got to know her, very slowly, ofc he felt a bit off when she hung out with Seb but holy fack 6th year??? when he took a deadly poisonous spell for her? they bonded, immediately. Garreth was never the same after that — he didn't know that that was what she had to face every damn day, that Sallow had been dragging her around, making her learn forbidden spells letting her fight, he didn't know that it wasn't just Sallow— that it was also Sweeting and somehow Thakkar (except she was the one that dragged Amit) so Garreth made a vow. That he'll be the one to take the spells, the deadly ones and he'll find a cure (he studied so much during 6th and 7th year) so much so that he practically made his own cure to some deadly spells. Whenever they were out and about, Garreth was tanking, he was always shielding his friends and Arabella away from danger - it was him taking the hit
GODs he also knew that she wasn't ready for a relationship, so he remained a friend that she needed — a shoulder to cry on, a cuddle buddy, a study buddy — he became everything for her because she was everything to him. then she left and he's still waiting OAHDIWJFI
