She’d definitely hit a nerve there, with the monk comment. The Siren was prepared to step back a foot or two, to face the oncoming storm—
But a blast of water to the face wasn’t quite what Maya had expected. Gasping in shock as the cold liquid made contact with her body, she stumbled a few feet back. Hair dripping wet and clinging to her fact, the Siren waited for no excuse to be made for the attack. Quick as she could, Maya once again drew her water gun, aiming right back at the man.
“Surprise attack, huh? I see how it is—!” And wrenched the water pump as hard as she could.
It was too late. Within the few seconds between his attack and her reaction, he knew that the woman wouldn't be forgiving him even if it was an honest mistake. This was why outdated technology was bad: they were inconvenient and prone to malfunction.
"Hold your fire!" Nobuchika held up his hand, gesturing her to stop. "I already told you it was an acci--"
Before he could finish to explain himself, a torrent of water hit his face for a second time. He couldn't believe the rogue had decided to ignore his plea-- and now his glasses were completely smudged with water! Quickly, the man took refuge behind the concrete wall of the fountain where his gun was previously stuck. Technically, the woman wasn't obstructing justice as he was no longer an officer in this place, but something had to be done before the ex-inspector could become any more unsightly.
"Truce! I call truce!" Nobuchika called out from behind his hiding place.
