While I still have my generic commissions open, I'm gonna be honest. Life is hard, and forcing myself to draw guys I'm not into is even harder. So I'm compromising by opening these: experimental art pieces done in the styles pictured above that I find pleasing to work with.
Scratchy brush, limited and strange palettes, and odd angles are all part of the charm. Give me a character (or two), a general vibe, and maybe any extra details and I'll whip up something crazy and hopefully cool as fuck with it.
More info below the cut if you're interested!
✦ How's it work?
You give me a character, a vibe/emotion/palette/etc, (and maybe a price range). After that, I whip up a rough sketch that I think would be fun and an estimate based on how long I think it'd take me. Probably between $50-150, based on things like "how complicated is this character?", "how many guys am I actually drawing?", and "is it a human? Because those are really not fun to draw". I'm open to haggling 'cus I don't feel like making a complicated chart for a limited time slot. Kicks rock.
I'll show you the rough sketch before I do anything really cool and you can give the yay or nay before sending me money.
✦ Ok well I'd rather just have a flat price from the get go.
Sorry man art is subjective and I'm tired. If you really want, you can just throw me some moolah and a character and I'll do whatever I think is worth that. Fun for the whole family (me).
✦ Any rules?
Fandoms are fine, ocs are fine, gore is fine (encouraged actually its fun), nsfw is fine (if you're 18+), with normal exceptions (no real people, no bigoted stuff, etc). Same rules as my normal comms. If you have questions, just ask!

Hey so! My laptop, which has been slowly breaking over the past year or so and is held together with hopes and prayers and having every single part replaced with a wireless version because the original is broken, is FINALLY starting to shit out on me for real. Because unfortunately, I can't just plug in a wireless charging port. Or battery. Or change the fact it sometimes doesn't like to turn on at all.
It's still kicking... enough, for now, but I need to buy a replacement ASAP so I'm not entirely fucked when this thing breaks. If anyone was on the fence, now would be a great time for me. And for you, while my computer DOES still sort of kinda work a little bit!

Some more Look Outside character exploration animations; walk cycles for Jeanne and Audrey, a transformation sequence for Leigh and some camera work for Lyle. Process notes under the cut.
Jeanne - very fascinated by her trunk; it’s a gorgeous sprite, but it’s hard to tell exactly what’s going on with it, so of course I had to try to lay it all out logically. Heavy, lumbering gait on four (five?) legs that I could probably make a little clumsier looking… ah well. Animating the severed necks would be an exercise in weight and auxiliary movement that I don’t quite have the energy for yet.
Audrey - Much like Cabinet Man before her, Audrey’s combination of precise, geometric form moved by organic components makes her a bit of a pain to animate, but fun nontheless. I like how her sprite gives her stompy feet… she must be kinda top-heavy, so I wonder if I should have made her list side-to-side more? Eh, perhaps a future goal. I gave her toe beans because… it just felt right.
Leigh - The sprites for this game aren’t exactly the most consistant, so it took a while to figure out exactly what was going on with The Grinning Beast. I did want to animate a transformation sequence though, so I did my best with the available information. Hopefully this doesn’t count as nsfw… it’s cartoon logic ok
Lyle - Lyle’s camera and suite of eyes are definitely able to move around his chest (neck, technically) Once again, the sprites aren’t quite consistant, but you can see the camera clearly pointing head-on with his eyes rearranged to accomodate it when you peek at him, as opposed to carried upright on his “shoulder” during his bossfight. I thought that was really neat, so I wanted to conceptualize how his eyes would make way for the aparatus. Five pairs make for ten in all, as well as the aparatus’ three partners (view finders, perhaps?) I neglected the bellows for the eyes for simplicity’s sake (once again, cabinet man problem) but I tried to give them all a little extra personality to make up for it.
