and when you think about me, all of those years ago..
i’ve seen people say that they have the #1 and #2 phandom member bracelets, have we ever seen them/where do we know this from?
yes! phil has number 1 (x) and dan has 2 (x) (x)
also martyn has 3 (x)
well now i am extremely interested in your essay on the complexities of the first london apartment and how it was a metaphor for their relationship with the phandom at that time 🤔 (with love from a post hl phannie)
i think the way dnp talk about the first london flat compared to how we've always felt about it is so representative of that time in our relationship
it genuinely was our shared apartment. they filmed in every room, we knew every corner by heart, the entire place was COVERED in phanart and fan gifts. even the light switches and the windows and their literal closets had remnants of us on them
for us, for the fans, we felt welcome there. it felt inviting and like a digital community space because in many ways it WAS. the first london flat felt like home and it's so interesting to see just how many people are nostalgic for it in the way you would a place you used to actually live (me included! i still feel that apartment in my chest)
we were invited there twice a week for liveshows and they asked our opinions on the decor. they'd take us into the kitchen to cook dinner. we sat on their real life beds with them for 5 years! you'd give them a mug or a pair of socks or a hand painted phone case and know it was being used in a home you all built together
here is a very long post i made about how deep and complex our relationship was with them
dnp remember that flat as the time they had no work/life balance and they went to sleep every night with a tripod by the bed and they felt like the audience owned them because we were paying their rent and they were building this empire with us. but because of this they had no break from us. their house wasn't an escape from the stress and work and nonstop speculation because they'd accidentally invited us in
obviously they still have happy memories there and it wasn't all bad but even in their "we're moving out" video they talked about how they couldn't be less emotional about it even though they knew WE would be! some of the most stressful times of their life were in that flat. this was the flat that people would walk up to and KNOCK ON THE DOOR and follow them home (especially after they accidentally leaked the address). nothing in that house ever got to be private
they ofc loved their audience and they LOVED all the gifts/art they got! they would not have put them everywhere if they didn't want to and obviously they kept everything in the move, but i do think you can see how differently they handled the 2 secret flats after! and how they even treat the phouse now! there's a separation of where we're welcome and thank fuck for that
@amazingphil
The homophobia of these hotel mystery stains will do nothing to stop the pure joy that these two people are experiencing right now

Dan going "Dan, that was very rude" and "Well, is there anything you'd like to say? Maybe, "Sorry for suplexing you into a wall?""
Dan doesn't play about Phil getting hurt, even in fiction.
dan knows mii dan might get accused of being abusive to mii phil on mii 2014 tumblr and then mii katie katie katie is gonna get curb stomped
Grateful to all the veterans explaining that the girl from Prague was in 2008 despite Dan's reactions making it seem like a personal betrayal, but it would also be really funny if enough people on twitter thought it happened after they got together to the point that DnP had to address the allegations.
if they ever addressed the time dan would say when he was 16 on new years eve he felt a pang in his chest and a leering sensation of infidelity washed over him so deep he fell to his knees

AN: The next instalment of Push and Pull — The Easter Baking Special, is almost done, I swear. Here is snippet to tide you over. Still has to be beta-ed and cleaned so don't be mean to me.
Summary: Dan and Phil play around with the term "bunny" after the Easter Baking video...
Dan, for his part, isn’t helping. With the stupid ears and his pretty sun-kissed skin, he can’t seem to stop touching Phil. Causal brushes of arms, comedic slaps on the shoulder, his hands at Phil’s waist moving him around like he can—because he can. And he knows they’ll cut some of it out, or crop the frame, but the touches are still there. Purposeful and freeing and Phil’s. He feels a bit giddy with it, in all honesty—being claimed so openly and claiming in return. Each moment a bit surreal, stoking the flame of possession he’d long since forgotten burned in his chest—smothered as it had been by necessity—it is now blazing and alight in the bright light of their kitchen. Every touch, every moment a declaration of “mine.” It makes Phil proud. No one will ever have Dan the way Phil does, but he welcomes them to try. Phil makes Dan do most of the work. He sits up on the counter and teases him about not reading the directions thoroughly and pretends he can’t open things—the usual. And Dan must not recognize the game just yet, because he acquiesces to all of Phil’s demands without so much as a biting comment. Or maybe he does—maybe he’s decided to lose.
