We have another rounds of farewell celebrations going on! We all have the interesting privilege and honor to have met in the sickest and sickest ICU in the nation (total pun intended). We could not survive without our coworkers and for this reason, we all have an instant and unbreakable bond. @blakeewollam and @n_betker we will miss you two dearly! I’m so glad that you’ll have one another in your new endeavors!!! And here’s one more thing: God has blessed me to also move on to the next chapter of my life. The last leg of our trip entailed a trip to #CapeTown #SouthAfrica where it actually felt like a mild winter (it was winter in joburg, Botswana, and zim as well). Due to the choppy winter waters and strong winds, we weren’t able to visit #RobbenIsland where #NelsonMandela was held prisoner nor were we able to rave the cable car up to the top of #TableMountain . Talk about making lemonade, we ended up hiking up the incomparable Table Mountain instead. The last night of our trip was spent with family. My heart is so full!!! I feel complete!!! This trip was more necessary than I had realized. Our last day in Zim was spent celebration the union of my cousin Skha and her now hubby Oliver. Absolutely beautiful ceremony and a gorgeous venue #NesbittCastle . Not only that, some of my little brothers and sister whom I have not seen since they were little tots were there as well!!! They’re all such grown young people with such level heads and big dreams!! The original plan was to take an overnight train from Gaborone to Bulawayo, Zimbabwe (HOME). As it turned out, we had an auntie who was driving to Zim two days later than when we were slated to leave. We had a wonderful road trip, even passing over the Tropic of Capricorn which was another unexpected treat! Once finally in Zim, we spent most of our time visiting various family members in all corners of Bulawayo, including at #Solusi an Adventist University which both of my parents attended. We went to the home that my gogo (moms mom) owned prior to her passing. While we were in Gaborone, we stayed out in the village and also visited uncle and aunties farm. I enjoyed the tranquility and purity of the fresh air and wild animals. I even had the opportunity to taste some organic free range chicken and it was DELISH! Also, mom climbed a tree haha. My first trip home since we came to the States when I was three years old. Got to hang with my cousin and explore a bit of Joburg, met my brothers for the first time in person that we can remember (yet they still recognized me through a fence like 50ft away), ran through the airport to make our flight to Gaborone (encountering some kind #AirBotswana employees along the way, and successfully surprised my moms good friend for her 60th birthday.
