sometimes you have to take a long hard look in the mirror and say. okay buddy. you stayed up until 2am stressing about shit. you had a nightmare last night. you’re exhausted. don’t expect anything special from yourself today and don’t handle any dangerous goods. sparkle on
if I just had the presence of mind and the wherewithal and the chutzpah and the bandwidth and the executive function and the energy and the mental resources and the spoons and the right attitude and the capacity and the gumption and th
the trick about getting invested and confident in ur own concepts is to surround urself with other likeminded artists who are down to earth. i know nowadays especially people think "indie" and they think undertale or glitch pilots and they have paved the way for great things but i mean like. engage with your friends comics theyve been posting to an audience of 20-30 people. The people who are genuinely at your level with you. Who are working on their projects on the side because they still have a full time job to attend to. who go on long hiatuses because theyre in college and are crunching for tests at the moment.
maybe one day youll have all the resources you want to create your stories exactly how you imagine it at the speed you want it to be done, but until you get there you'll find so many people working with the same resources and available time that you have, and its about that network of small artists being able to support each other that can light a spark that you thought you needed an audience of hundreds to light.
If nobody ever explained this to you, if someone you see a lot does something you like and you never ever tell them that, they might think you don’t like them or don’t like the things they do for you.
If you like your sister’s cooking and have never ever told her that, she may very well think that you hate her cooking. If you like it when your friend drives you places and you never ever thank them, they might think you’re not grateful even if you are. If you like it when your partner does this or that thing for you they won’t know that unless you tell them.
Tell people in your life hey thanks for driving me, that was a great dinner, I like your singing, thanks for helping me with that. They don’t automatically know that you appreciate what they do.
Hehe, Brushbug. New episode of the anime tomorrow! Shirahama posted these to her twitter today.
when i grow up i wanna be a dandelion
[ID: digital illustration dandelion plant. Yellow background, bold graphic design. Text reads "April. The weeds burst up from the gutter. Me too, I pray. Me too. And may God forget to mow the grass." /end ID]
hey does anyone have that poem. about the author seeing two boys cuddling on a hotel lobby couch, where he refers to it as something like an island of safe anonymity or smth. its been 5000 years my college boyfriend had it written out and pinned to his wall

tragedy protagonist categories:
yknow what yeah I think that's just about how anyone would react in this situation. fair enough.
alright this isn't how just Anyone would behave in this situation but I'm humble enough to admit that there have been times in my life when I was doing badly enough that I'd probably also fumble it like this
babygirl what the hell are you even doing
thank you hamlet prince of denmark for being the character ever for the 437th year in a row

oh do I have the game for you
I could . not. put. this down for 48 hours - stayed up too late, had weird dreams about it, woke up early, and played it while I was supposed to be doing other things. the last several dozen items took a lot of googling, which I do not even begrudge it.
and then. My partner started it. And the SAME THING happened to him.
surprisingly compelling. start when you have free time. like, yanno, a snow day.
oh my god, if you are the kind of person who gets sucked into logic puzzles, do not click that link if you have to do anything/go to sleep in the next couple hours
I was disappointed there weren't more levels, so I made them! The creator's code was under CC Share Alike, so I moved a copy to my website, rustled up 40 new categories, and added buttons so you can generate smaller puzzles!
Check it out! More levels!
^^My spinoff version now has 100 total categories! Generate puzzles to your heart's content!

I think more people would benefit from my dad’s go to advice: “show up, and pay attention”
Work, friendships, relationships, etc. — all of them will be improved if you just show up and pay attention.
Show up: follow through on commitments, be present rather than distracted, keep your word
Pay attention: take notes, listen when people talk, do what you need to do to remember tasks you’ve been given, READ YOUR DAMN EMAILS
And before tumblr tumblrs, I also have undiagnosed ADHD and probably autism and “just” showing up and paying attention often takes a bit of extra effort for me. But I’m also the most recent addition to my team at work and also somehow the only one who is both on top of my shit and still only giving like 60%-70%.
I do have one warning though: once you start showing up and paying attention, you will be frustrated by how many people aren’t doing that. But hey, your boss will love you and you might even get a raise out of it.
Be careful with this advice. This is how my mom became president of her League of Women Voters chapter.
