Elderberry Harvest
It was a pot roast kind of night. My Dutch oven is back in business!
It was a homemade tea kind of morning. Chamomile from the garden, pear, and ginger.
I found this really important tiktok about what to do if a Jehovah's Witness or Morman missionary comes to your door:
I spent some time in a Jehovah's Witness church. They're exceptionally skilled at recruiting people into their church. (And I was an ATHEIST)
I left after a couple months, I stayed just long enough to see that they explicitly believe women are inferior to men, and of course, that homosexuality is a sin on par with murder.
The whole missionary door to door thing is NOT how Jehovah's Witnesses recruit. That is how they convince their members that the world is out to get them. One of the first things they teach is that Jesus requires you to try to convert non Christians to the faith. (They say non Christian but mean non JW.)
Then they say, "look how people treat us, just for the crime of wanting to save their soul"
They have long time church members tutor the incoming members to smooth the process over. They're trained to smooth away any doubts you may have about the church.
It is a textbook cult but because it's a Christian cult, nobody will do anything about it.
I was born into the JW religion, and much of my family remains active members. Growing up, I wasn't allowed to join school sports, school assemblies, plays, or have friends over to my house that weren't fellow JW's. As I grew older, like high school, I started to mildly rebel, and my mom finally allowed me to go to a couple school dances. I'm now agnostic: and I'm so thankful I went to college (which they highly discourage!) and got out from under my family's judgemental eyes. It is a cult. You're taught to hate everyone and anything that doesn't revolve around the cult. It's stifling, it's depressing, and it's hard to see up from down when you're mixed up in it.Â
Homemade cinnamon roles, fresh from the oven. My boys grabbed three as soon as they were cool enough to handle, lol.
Comfort food...homemade rolls and fudge.
Last night's dinner, prepped and ready for the pot.
I've never been more thankful that I can home school my little boys. I've been doing it for five years, and while challenging some times, I couldn't imagine it any other way.
Many mixed messages have been spread about the efficacy of masks in preventing transmission of COVID-19. Nevertheless, there is good evidence that they help. (Video and image credit: Itâs Okay to Be Smart; references)
DAMNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
My garden is complete. I removed a 15' x 7' section of grass, fertilized, and planted seeds and starts of potatoes, onions, carrots, peas, cucumbers, tomatos, lavender, rosemary, oregano, calendula and sunflowers. Â My property is littered with amazing petrified wood, which I used to outline the garden bed. Crystals are also sprinkled throughout. I find it quite magical. My goal in the coming years is remove most, if not all, the grass in the front yard to make way for gardening.
We are welcoming fabric masks from our community as we prepare for COVID-19. Thank you so much for your interest and care.
Great tutorial and instructions on how to sew a cloth face mask. I'm making my family some tonight.

Hello lovely Tumblr folk! Itâs that time again- I have a giveaway for you all. But this time our giveaway is far grander and more magical than any we've had before! I've been supporting my mom and younger siblings since 2016 đ I've always put compassion and ethics above all else in my business!

Moon Phases in Hoodoo
Itâs really common to see modern witchcraft correspondences for the moon phases, but rarely or never for hoodoo. Frequently the full moon is associated with âlight magicâ and the new moon with âdark magicâ using the classic racist terminology weâre all too familiar with. We also live in a world where books on working the roots that are actually written by black authors are a somewhat rare find, and Lucky Mojo is one of the first Google hits for almost every hoodoo-related search you might make.Â
So, Spirit Roots presents⌠the moon phases for root workers! An Africana guide to the lunar cycle. Remember, you donât have to cast the ârightâ spell at the ârightâ time, itâs just a useful boost to follow the moonâs patterns when it feels right to do so or works for your path. Listen to your ancestors, and trust your intuition on it!
