⋆- How long has it been since she’s seen her precious cousin? Three years? Two years? Billie could not remember; it was too long ago. Being a celebrity and her cousin being a doctor made it difficult for the two to find time to see each other.
Today Billie had the day off and decided that it was two years too long. Arriving in Nimbas City, Unova, the brunette sent a text message to her cousin. She knew he was at work but that didn’t stop her from heading straight towards the hospital. She ignored her vibrating phone, assuming that is was her cousin trying to stop her from coming. She knew that she would regret this public appearance in the future but she really wanted to see her cousin.
As she walked to the hospital, the brunette started to think about her childhood. She remembered visiting her cousins often; she couldn’t remember the reason why, but thinking about it now she realized that her mother most likely wanted to get away from her father. It suddenly made everything seem darker but she enjoyed the time she spent with her cousins.
I told you, I'm here to get you. Come to the main lobby. Hurry plz.

"What does she think she's.....ugh....."
He groaned and frustratedly slammed his fist on his desk, a cloud of stationary beginning to circle around him. The floating objects were not an unusual occurrence. Whenever the raven-haired male found himself alone and desperately needing to let out his emotions, he released bits of psychic energy as well. Before he had full control over his psychic abilities, Andrew would have to force himself to stay incredibly calm at all times, fearing that he could unintentionally hurt someone around him.
A few minutes passed, and at last the ring of levitating pens and papers slowly dissipated. Andrew had calmed down. He stood up and took a long, deep breath. He saw no other option in this situation than to join his cousin in whatever she wanted to do. The thought of trying to reason her out of her sudden actions came to his mind, but he quickly dismissed it: he knew very well that his cousin never listened to reason. He was certain his boss would not be pleased to find out one of his doctors was slacking off instead of working.
A family emergency. That's what the young doctor would tell his boss. His cousin, the famous Billie Stryker, had come to the hospital due to a family emergency. The plan was fool proof.
Seconds later, the old phone on his office desk started to ring.
"...This is reception..." a woman's voice spoke as he held the receiver up to his ear. "...Bill - a young lady is here to see you. Come down here when you have the time..." she added before ending the call. It was all the confirmation Andrew needed to be sure his cousin was serious about whatever she was planning.
Upon taking the elevator down to the lobby floor, the psychic finally came face to face with Billie. When he approached her, she was sitting quietly in a far corner of the room, her face partly shaded by her accessories. There weren't many others waiting in the lobby, but Andrew knew she must have already gained quite a lot of attention before his arrival.
"Billie, what are you doing here? You know I'm at work."
As Andrew entered the Lilycove HealthCare Center, he couldn't have been more thrilled. The building had a grand appearance - both on the inside and outside - that made the medical student wonder if a place with such exquisite decor could really be a hospital. Before he could wander off in another direction, he felt a tug at his arm from one of his classmates. Right, Andrew remembered, I'm going to work with a patient on my own - for the first time.
In fact, that had been the purpose of this class trip to the Lilycove HealthCare Center all the way in the Hoenn region. Andrew's professors felt there was no better way to cover the current material than assign each student to work with a terminally ill patient, and the head of the Lilycove HealthCare Center had been more than pleased to allow a group of fresh-minded youngsters into the hospital for the sake of bettering the doctors of the future.
The trip from Nimbasa City to the Hoenn International Airport had seemed endless- over 13 hours. Still having not fully mastered his psychic abilities, he had a difficult time trying to take a nap in a noisy plane filled with nearly 150 passengers. His senses only cause the jumble of conversations to ring through his mind and after 2 doses of aspirin he wished he had the guts to tell the people around him to just shut up.
Even after the stewardess turned off the lights in the cabin and ordered everyone to shut their windows (it was around 9PM in Unova and many passengers would be attempting to sleep around that time), the nineteen-year-old found himself unable to shut his eyes for more than a few seconds. His ability to read minds was both a gift and a curse, but at the time it was more a curse than a gift. The thoughts - or dreams - of the nearby people crept into his mind and ate away his sleep, leaving him with unwanted thoughts when he'd rather be getting some shut-eye.
It didn't help that he felt cramped. Standing at 5 feet and 10 inches, Andrew was in no way fit for the lack of legroom provided in the economy class seating. With his tall stature, trying to curl up in the reclined seat and completely fit under the thin blanket were a bit of a challenge.
But simply walking down the hallway on the hospital's polished tile flooring made the uncomfortable flight seem worth it. Andrew could only dream of being able to work in such a lovely building one day.
"Clayton --"
The voice of his professor snapped the brunette out of his daze. Andrew had always thought his ability to distract himself was astounding. The sound of someone breathing could be enough to cause him to lose his entire train of thought, yet he could become so lost in his own world that he could drown out the voices (and thoughts) of everyone around him.
"Drew, you've been assigned to this patient," she pointed at a door with mini-whiteboard nailed to it . The word WELCOME was spelled out in orange ink in a childish bubble lettering and multicolored dots inside each letter. "His name is Hazuki Yoshimitsu. I'm giving you a file with all the information you'll need to know about him." The professor handed him a manila envelope with the number 273 written out in marker. They were the same set of digits that appeared on a small aqua sign next to the room's entrance.
"Read it carefully before you go in," she added, finally, before departing. Andrew turned the envelope over in his palms and shook out the crisp sheets of paper that lay inside. He scanned the intricate forms, absorbing every piece of information he could learn about Hazuki Yoshimitsu. Most of them contained important details on the boy's condition, diagnosis, and treatment. Andrew continued flipping through the papers. Hazuki's shot record. The never-ending list of drugs prescribed to him. The history of illness in his family.
A nurse's note.
The medical student stopped at the small yellow square sticking between the last two papers.
Doesn't like listen to others - sometimes refuses to do what he is told. Need to work on behavioral issues.
The note intrigued him, only adding to his excitement. To think he would be meeting his very first patient. - Andrew could hardly contain himself. He lightly pushed down on the doorknob and allowed the door slowly creak open and the voices of the Hoenn news channel to fill his ears. A golden-haired boy lounged on a bed, gazing into the TV screen above him.
"Hi, Hazuki, right? I'm Andrew and I'll be here in and out this week. I hope we can become friends"
A cellphone screen lit up in the pocket of his white labcoat. "I thought I turned it off..." Andrew muttered to himself as he rummaged through the tiny objects in his pocket until giving up and allowing the device to gravitate toward his palm.
Oh, the joys of being a psychic.
With gloved hand, he typed in the passcode - failing to unlock the phone twice before peeling off the synthetic glove. A message popped up on the screen - a text from his cousin. It was odd because usually the raven-haired male never received any messages during the day - especially from his relatives.

"That's weird," he thought aloud. He wondered what Billie meant. Andrew denied the possibility that his cousin was actually considering to go to his hospital. The last time he had seen his cousin in person was two years ago at a mini family reunion back in Sinnoh. He was well aware that his celebrity cousin despised making huge public appearances these days and visiting him at work would definitely cause a ruckus.
Knowing he really should be returning to work, he typed an abrupt response to Billie's vague message.

Little did he know his question would be answered only minutes after pressing the send button.
A nurse burst through the door of his office with an unusual grin on her face.
"Doctor Clayton, you won't believe it !" She huffed- she must have run all the way here.
"Is it a patient?" Andrew inquired, stuffing his phone back into his pocket. Never in his time working at the hospital had he ever seen one of his nurses so giddy.
"No!" She laughed as if it were obvious that her good news was not about a patient."Billie Stryker is in the building! Can you believe it? Of all places, this hospital!" The nurse squealed.
The young doctor, of course, was unimpressed. Although the mystery behind his cousin's text had been solved, he couldn't have felt any less relived.
"Is that it?" He replied coldly, immediately regretting his tone of voice when the nurse's smile faded away. "What I meant to ask was - why is that important? Unless she is here for an appointment, I don't see any reason why she should be making a scene in a hospital, of all places." The nurse simply shrugged and exited the room, leaving the brunette even more perplexed than he was before.
