You are the kind of hero our world needs. There are too many Christmas starts on November 1st people out there and it is as if moving to New York City have just made ‘em worse.

Yeah, people in general. Usually it’s this time of year that they get the most annoying cause it’s when all the holidays begin. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas.. You know what, dubstep mixes are better than Mariah Carey’s screeching, right? What part of Cali are you from? I’ve had my share of parties over there but they definitely don’t compare to the ones here. Not to mention we’re the New Years capital of the world here. Maybe not the world, but definitely the US.
Most definitely, it’s like people decide that this is the perfect time to be more annoying than usual and it’ll be socially acceptable. I would take dubstep mixes over Mariah Carey any day, those high notes of hers make my ears want to bleed. I’m from Beverly Hills, I’ve lived there all my life until I moved here for college. I have to say I agree, the few years I’ve been here I’ve attended the best parties I’ve ever experienced in my life, especially around New Years.

You heard four? That’s a lot, unless the walk from your apartment to the coffee shop is long– then I guess that’s not so many. I make myself wait until the day after Thanksgiving to start playing Christmas music in my shop. I think that’s a good time to start playing it. Do you not like UGG boots? I know they’re overdone, but they really are comfy. I don’t really like coffee, though– so at least I don’t take part in that ‘annoying’ stereotype.
I can’t wait for Thanksgiving! I don’t really cook, but my mom did teach me how to make a turkey before I left home. It’s pretty much the only time of the year where I don’t worry about blowing up my condo. Plus– food! How could that be a bad thing?
It wasn’t too far, no. Although it was mostly blasting in the coffee shop and I was about ten seconds from stabbing myself in the face with the nearest plastic fork if the music didn’t stop or I didn’t get out of there soon enough. That’s reasonable, playing it the day after Halloween isn’t very reasonable. They’re tacky and worn all too much, so no, I happen to not like them. What’s wrong with coffee?
Food is great, Thanksgiving is definitely one of my favorite holidays they have out there. The cooks at my house always made one kickass dinner for us when we would have a get together with family and friends on Thanksgiving..
Mm, your best bet is probably to stay in the house until…February. Well, wait. No. Because that’s when they break the Valentine’s shit out…March? March. Stay in the house until March. You’ll be safe.
March sounds like a good plan because then that’s when St. Patrick’s day rolls around and I have the perfect excuse to get drunk. It’s like a win, win. Although, I may have to make an appearance here and there out of the house if I ever want to get laid.
It’d be a recipe for disaster. Well, people are eager and annoying. Nothing annoys me more than hearing jingle bell songs on November 1st. That means I have to listen to them for a whole two months. America needs a change. Oh yeah, batshit crazy stuff happens on New Years, especially in New York. I’m glad I moved here.
You mean people in general? They always getting annoying and eager about the next big holiday, it starts to grate on the nerves after awhile. Just wait, this year they’ll probably start playing dubstep remixes of Jingle Bells just to ‘get down with the times’. America really does need a change, you think they’d realize we have another holiday coming up first then they can get all annoying about Santa Claus and shit. Most definitely, I’ve been in New York for around two years and nothing compares to the parties they have here. I thought it got crazy at times in California.
They have. Maybe it was only certain places. I think pumpkin spice is a fall/winter thing, too. It’s still around through November at least, isn’t it? No, I’m not a fan of turkey, period.
I have no idea about that either, I’ve never been a fan of pumpkin spice in the first place. I’m more of an Americano man myself, so I really couldn’t tell you. Why? What’s wrong with turkey?
I’ve heard all kinds of great things about California, is it really as good as everyone makes it seem? I could do without the cold too, though it is perfect weather for my favorite coats, so that makes things a little okay during the winter. I’m Rachel by the way.
It’s definitely great, I lived in Beverly Hills all of my life up until moving here for college. I definitely prefer the warm Cali weather opposed to the weather here, but I am excited to see snow again since it barely ever snows in California. Nice to meet you, Rachel. I’m Asher.
There’s absolutely nothing like walking the streets of New York. Though I now live here I am still in total awe of it all, especially at night when it seems to come to life even more, the loud curses and taxi horns don’t even get to me!
I have to say I definitely agree, I’m a west coast kid but even I tend to love New York more than I do California at times. Although I’m not a fan of how cold it can get and how quick it’ll get cold around here. That seems to be the only downside to me most of the time.
Peppermint is amazing and they’ve already been selling it since before Halloween came. I always think of it as more of a fall/winter thing as opposed to a holiday thing. Let’s skip Thanksgiving, I’m ready to have my Christmas Tree.
Have they? I’ve must have only noticed the giant twenty dollar bags of chocolate and pumpkin spice everything they were selling for Halloween/fall things. Are you not a fan of stuffing yourself full of turkey until you feel like you’re about to vomit?
That’s because thanksgiving doesn’t have any songs based on it and you can’t exactly make turkey & gravy frappuccinos– thank god. Everyone knows the day after Halloween is like the first of day of Christmas for eager people who don’t know how the calendar works. I’m ready to rocket past it and just celebrate the new year.
I think I would be concerned if there were turkey and gravy frappuccinos, I don’t think coffee would go with either of those components. I can understand getting excited for Christmas but literally the day after Halloween is a bit much for me. New Years is about ten times better than Christmas because they always have way more kickass parties.
It’s the day after Halloween and during the time from when I left my apartment to go get a coffee and go back to my apartment I heard four Christmas songs. Four. Halloween was yesterday, my hangover didn’t need the unnecessary screeching that Mariah Carey likes to claim is her singing. It’s only a matter of time before UGG boots are being broken out while the girls wearing them drink only peppermint mocha frappuccinos to be ‘festive’ and twenty four hour Christmas music will be on loop in every single department store. Apparently Thanksgiving doesn’t exist anymore.
