Queen Coral had already yanked out each of Tortoise’s teeth one by one. They rose through the water, tiny and white, toward the roof. Now Coral had her claws stabbed into Tortoise’s exposed underbelly. Clouds of blood filled the water, nearly hiding the queen and Tortoise in a red haze.”

Please observe two of my favs (I have so many favs). I don’t ship them romantically, personally, but I do love the idea of these two very unlike characters gradually, grudgingly, somehow ending up on the same side and slowly adjusting to the idea (or not).

Honestly, that’s my secret deepest wish for the entire narrative of Overwatch - all these heroes/villains/friends/enemies finally aaaaall coming together to fight for their world. ufufufufufu

I know people keep thinking Wings of Fire is a series for kids, but tbh, I don’t think a series with a dragon forcing his father to disembowel himself, a mother who sold her child for three cows, and a queen who threw the head of a dragon disguised as someone else at their family to break them is really kid-friendly.
