Cersei is blamed for how Joffrey turned out, in fact Robert's absentee behaviour, his disrespectful attitude towards women is never brought up, and Joffrey is chalked up entirely to Cersei'bad parenting. And she was to be blamed for it.

However the same audience completely ignored Maekar's contribution in making Aerion who he was. He holds the same Targaryen supremacist mentality, and Maekar nurtures that. However he is considered a victim, a tragic figure, and considered an 'imperfect parent', not a man who neglected his other kids and encouraged one in his delusional cruelty and supremacist beliefs.

Cersei is also a misogynist as well. Cersei doesn’t care about woman in general only herself. She killed her own female best friend casually in the books. She absolutely horrible to Margaery and Sansa. Cersei was willing to let Shae get gang-raped just like Tysha was forced by Tywin. Just to insult, humiliate, hurt, and destroy Tyrion and Shae’s relationship. Cersei’s isn’t a feminist, she only wishes she alone had the same rights and privileges as the other men in her family: Tywin, Jaime, Tyrion, & Joff! However, Joffrey sociopathic behavior was because of his incestious heritage as well as Cersei’s own narcissistic and sociopathic personality. Joffrey just gained the abusing woman idea from his “dad” King Robert Baratheon for when a woman “steps out of line” example Robert slapping Cersei. However, Cersei wouldn’t care if Robert slaps another woman just not her!

Also, Targaryen supremacy complex that Aerion develop is something that most Targaryen have even despite not being dragon riders for nearly a century. They are the Royal Family of Westeros and Blood of Old Valyria. Aerion just takes it to the extreme with outright discrimination and cruelty. However, Targaryen and Valyrian superiority is something that the Royals kept from Aegon I to Aerys II. Aegon V via traveling, exploring, and experiencing the world of Westeros via the POV of commoner and peasant causes him to think differently and gave the average person more benefit and opportunities.
