The Leader of the Spotlight Organisation had received a phone call from one of his subordinates. It was regarding the hero he had barely saved from his death. He had instructed his followers to let him know incase his unstable hero was finally fully conscious. He had a huge use of him afterall.

The hero was someone who was deemed flawless, but never the best. He was adored by his fans but was hated by those who didn't worship him. He had many working under him, but many who were of his level and above who hated him.

He was one of the most honest heroes who showed the true face of the ones he worked for and had some of the biggest lies ever uttered by a hero in his career.

This was the hero Liu Zheng should've never taken, yet the one who would help him the most.

The only thing however, it was not easy to convince him.

Authors/Poets I'd Prefer To Not Be OOTCT Members

William Shakespeare - He was already a part of the Transcendents. It doesn't make much sense for him to have stayed there and for the Clock Tower to have failed defeating Verlaine in SB and drown their centuries long reputation. Protecting the Queen can't be it since there are a lot of competent members (supposedly) among them.

Emily Brontë - Already one of her sisters is present. Lowkey feels like copy paste to me (hot take, ik)

Anne Brontë - Same as Emily's.

Roald Dahl - If his irl personality is taken into account while bsdfying him, I highly doubt he'll be a cooperative member long enough to be kept.

Charles Dickens - Dunno honestly. His works seem too societal class related to be Clock Tower like.

Lewis Caroll - Hot take again. But looking at Alice in Wonderland and the author's lifestyle, I genuinely doubt he would consider to be member of ootct. The organisation seems to be too authoritative deep inside for him from the way Dame Christie seems to behave.

A. C. Doyle - I bet he's the most hottest take of all. I'll keep the explanation simple and say it's the Caroll case for him. He too, has works which are not at all authority favouring. His sci-fi works and supernatural interests are not Clock Tower favouring for me personally (maybe sci-fi can work but the other can't). Plus, the Sherlock Holmes series doesn't exactly make the Scotland Yard the best police agency out there. And not to mention, he apparently onec fooled a bunch of rich people into running away as a prank. The work was spy like, but not the purpose.

So yeah... that's pretty much the list.

Today was a busy day to say the least. First I had to complete training half-way for a mission . Then I had to do an Ad on a bunch of new products I'm pretty sure I'll never use. At last, I had to study a few of the company files.

Like sure, I'm greatful to be working where I am right now. But seriously! The schedules I get are really tiring to say the least!

Just as I was about to call it a day and peacefully sleep, the phone rang again.

"Ugh!" Not one more ad... I'm done with those. But still, I had to pick up the phone reluctantly.

"Hero Nice, You're awake right?"

"Yes Miss Ken, I'm not asleep yet. What happened? Is there something I need to do?"

"You need to go on a mission tomorrow. Gang activity has been reported in concerningly high rates in District 16."

"Sources say that there will be a meetup of two rising groups in the early hours of tomorrow morning."

"I hope you're equipped to handle the mission well. Don't worry, I'll make sure backup is present in case things go wrong. But I'm pretty sure you've trained well. So you should do fine on your own. I've sent the details to you, make sure to go through them properly and sleep well tonight. Goodbye"

"Sure, I'll do my best. Bye"

I turned off the call and sighed. They really won't give me a break anytime soon will they? As much as I want to complain, I really can't. Atleast I get to sleep tonight unlike Wreck, who's on a mission for the whole night.

God... I didn't expect them to be soo desperate to get me to be his left hand man. And honestly, I don't blame them. They've done everything to get me to where I am. He even went as far as nearly risking a media scandal for me. He even let me take Wreck along with me and get him to be a hero too! As much as I find him weird, I can never thank him enough...

I read the case files. They're honestly concerning to say the least. These villains won't be easy to handle at all given their reputation.

But I have to do it. After everything that was done for me, this is absolutely nothing. I took a look at Wreck's photo album of us both together and smiled. I remember the promise I made to myself three years ago.

"I'll protect every perfect smile, including yours."

Hey! For those who guessed it, yep! It's a DOS!Wrice au fic series. I kinda might be the one to originate this ngl 😅 (started getting involved in the fandom to bag that 😂). Might continue if motivation and time serves.
