Putting the term "Catholic guilt" on a high shelf where fandom can't reach it until everyone learns how to identify characters who are very very clearly coded as Protestant.
The idea of ābut everyone knows thatā needs to stop.
I saw a post about someone chiding Millennials for not knowing about JKRowlings transphobia, and asking how it is at all possible that people can exist in the world and the internet and, you know, not know.
Which I mean, I get. It is so present in so many of my online spaces that it seems astounding that someone could simply be ignorant! It feels impossible!
But let me tell you a story:
I went on a girls trip with a bunch of friends. All of us are rather incredibly liberal and all of us are incredibly online.
One girl would not stop talking about Harry Potter.
At one point, another girl asked her why she was ok with supporting it, and she had no real clue that JK Rowling was at all transphobic. She had heard that she likes to support Lesbian causes and thought āoh ok cool!ā And that was it. She was AGOG with the news and rather horrified.
I must once again emphasize that she was an incredibly online person. Sheās a foodie and a restaurant blogger.
Later in the trip we were picking restaurants and I suggested one I found on Google, and she gasped at me. Actually gasped, asking how I could ever be okay picking that one.
The shock mustāve been on my face, because she then told me all of the shitty things that restaurateur does. He abuses staff. Underpays them. Fires them on a whim. Is known for being one of the worst people to his employees in the entire restaurant business on this coast.
And she was so shocked I had never heard of this. Because in her mind, I was just as online as her. And in her online world, EVERYONE knew about this guy.
So I think the moral of this story is: always approach the other person with some empathy. Even online people, even people you think MUST know about how bad people are, may not have heard. It may truly be just them being on a different sphere of the internet than you.
So be gentle, be kind when letting people know they might not have heard about the cancellation of XYZ person. Donāt assume that everyone knows all the same info as you.
By all means, let them know so they can make informed decisions, but being kind will go a lot further than attacking them for some info they might not know yet.
I just saw the world's freshest baby in Panera bread. Like that thing was JUST out of the oven. I've heard of being wet behind the ears but this baby was wet behind the everything. It was still damp.

i like to imagine the eridians having similar conversations that we're having about their alien
in class and we were told to pull up chatgpt on our laptops to experiment with and the guy in front of me pulled up a deli menu and started looking at sandwiches
when your body is stiff/aching,
try slowly stretching it out.
if you stretch too far to point of pain, back off to point of ache and hold it there for a bit.
body may still hurt but at least itās at a higher threshold now.
Movement nudge!
please never separate them again
i love fanfiction stats because sometimes youāll see a 2ish year bump in the numbers caused by a single person writing at a rate that would make stephen king quake with envy and you just know thatās what they were doing instead of writing their masters thesis
rocky introducing grace to adrian
My favorite bit of this is since eridians say no by tapping their fists together, this can either be taken as Adrian having already learned what an applause is and clapping, or Adrian going No No No No at the weird alien Rocky brought home
incredible stuff happening out there
There's gotta be someone more qualified. I'm fucking begging you.

@theshitpostcalligrapher ?
my neighbourhood has never had an ice cream truck. in the summer, we have the knife sharpening truck. it slowly circles the block and rings its ominous bell. i have never seen someone interact with it. it may be that only those marked by death can see it
alex??? this is truly frightening ??
i never really thought about it much until today but youāre right this is honestly a messed up thing for me to be accustomed to
Official ominous truck
okay if you work in any environment that requires frequent use of scissors, this truck is like Jesus showing up. We cut ribbon and paper constantly at my job and when OUR knife sharpening guy rolls through town, once in a blue moon, we all run after him in the street waving out hands around like children after the pied piper. We carry our shears out to him like bouquets, shaking because we are so excited to have sharp scissors again.
So anyway we may in fact be marked for death in the way all retail employees are, but shout out to knife trucks everywhere.
Official ominous truck
i legit overheard this when i was in class

Guy who never feels like his problems are ābad enoughā to be taken seriously: what if I hurt the character so horrifically that everyone around them could not possibly deny the severity of their pain even if the character themself tries to downplay it.
