Pike always said you were one of our best and brightest. You should have heard him defend you. He’s the one who talked you into joining Starfleet, wasn’t he?
“Saw this written on a fence on a run trying to figure things out. We go through bad things but without those things you couldn’t shine like the star you are. ”
A friend of mind posted this on Instagram. I just had to share it with you all.
Eeyore is just one of those characters that you wanna scoop up and hug forever.
As a kid it never bothered me that spongebob and Patrick were parents, I never cared that Jimmy was a bit feminine, I never questioned the fact that Him was a cross dresser, I never questioned Vanity smurfs sexuality, it never bothered me that chucky had a mom and sister of a different race or that Betty and Howard’s gender rolls were switched, and I didn’t care that Mulan was a women in a mans world. It’s sad how some parents are disgusted when they see stuff like this and tell their kids that they’re suppose to be masculine or feminine, or that marriage is only for a man and a women, that a women is ment to be at home while the men are at work, and I find it especially sad when parents teach their kids that interracial marriage is disgusting. Your gender, sexuality, race or religion doesn’t matter. The only thing that does matter is that you love yourself and others around you for who they are the way we loved our childhood characters.
I like this post.
Just like? I fricken love it.
#it’s the little things between them that really tear my heart into pieces #such small things like calling him ‘james’ instead of ‘jim’ #the same way any father will use their child’s full name when they want their kid to take them seriously #pike’s tone is stern but if you look #the set of his mouth isn’t even disapproving or annoyed #and there’s just this faint hint of almost amusement in his eyes #this fond exasperation that he easily masks with a strict facade #i like to think that pike #when he was younger #was a lot like jim #and he sees himself or a past version of himself in jim #and wants to bring him to success and self-confidence #(real self-confidence #not the cocky persona jim puts forward) #pike is most likely the first person who put a strong arm on jim #(not a hitting hand or an angry slap but just a grip to restrain him when needed and steer him towards a better path) #and told him that he could achieve whatever he wanted #while giving him no room to hold himself to any standard except one of excellence #jim kirk may have made it to the top #but it was pike who gave him the ladder to climb him and kicked him in the ass to get him going #smiling to himself the entire time (via sweetfleet)
I'm gonna cry...
“How terrible it is to love something death can touch.”
On behalf of Christopher Pike, my friend, I accept your surrender.
