Sometimes Nellie liked to just get lost, on nights like tonight where shit felt heavy and she didn't want to deal with things productively. Instead she ignored her problems in the way she did when she was young, with a mediocre bartender who had a heavy pour, people who didn't know her name, and maybe even someone to waste her time at the end of the night. It was better that way, to keep her shitty mood and accompanying rain cloud in a place built for anonymity, instead of bringing it home with her, it was cleaner that way. --- Although, as she spotted a familiar face at the end of the bar, she figured anonymity might be a bit overrated.

"Almost didn't recognize you without your balls out," she commented.

A late night, last minute deal had brought Kit to the casino, otherwise he would've never set foot in it. Casinos were his Achilles heel, and the possible temptation was too great, which is how he found himself heading towards the bar rather then the exit sign. His leg bounced as he sat at the bar, hoping the alcohol would stave off the craving to place a bet. Kit ordered one whiskey, and soon after another, until life presented him with a distraction much greater than alcohol. Nellie Decker. The woman he had sworn he had somehow conjured up from his fantasies dreams. He chuckled deeply at her comment, hanging his head low for a brief second before daring to look at her. "I could say the same about you." her metaphorical balls, of course, would rival those of any man - and then some. Without invitation, he shuffled to sit beside Nellie, before signalling over the bartender. "What are you drinkin', darlin'?" he knew better than to ask why she was drinking.

Lyla, who had spent most of her working years at the club, was usually there if not at home. She often joked with Nate, teasing that she came with the club when he bought it. Her recent promotion to bar manager was a welcome change, offering her a salary instead of just tips, though she never minded the latter. When Maddie informed her that someone was looking for her, Lyla sat down a box of liquor in the back and made her way to the front. There, she saw Kit. "Hey stranger," She greeted, approaching the bar where he stood. "Long time no see."

"You're tellin' me, I was startin' to think you'd skipped town and didn't have the heart to tell me." Kit teased, his hand moving to clutch his heart as if it were broken. "You mind pourin' me a drink please, sweetheart?" he moved effortlessly to sit on a bar stool, his fingers eager to be curled around a glass of whiskey. "To be truthful, thought I'd come an' cheer you up dull day at work." he lazily flashed Lyla a wink, his lips curling into a smile. Although, to be truthful, Kit just needed a distraction. "How're you doin'? I see you're workin' behind the bar now."

WITH ALL THIS SECRET SPEWING ANONYMOUS bullshit, Kit had found his mind unravelling as he sat twiddling his thumbs in his apartment. Thoughts were spinning about what this could mean for business and if Los Santos were going to take a hit. Kit couldn't lose his job because he needed the money to fuel his addictions, and without his job he had no money which meant- he needed to get his mind off things.

"Hey-" Kit shouted over the music, his hand tapping the bar to get the attention of the bartender. "Hey, I'm lookin' for Lyla, is she workin' tonight? She knows me, tell her Kit's askin' for her."

"Beer?" Maeve offered, extending the spare bottle she'd been clutching alongside her own, which she'd already started on. Kit was a ghost from the days she wasn't exactly proud of, a reminder that some habits - and the people tied to them - linger stubbornly. "You seen Chase since he's been out?" She asked casually, her eyes not quite meeting Kit's as she lifted her own bottle for a sip.

THE QUESTIONABLE FAMILIARITY OF THE VOICE beside him caused Kit to turn around with a gentle frown upon his features, which only softened into an amused smile when he saw who the voice belonged to. "Holy shit, if it ain't ol' Maeve Macnally." he hadn't seen or spoken to her for... Well, years. She'd dropped Kit like a bad habit, and truthfully, she was right to. With question, he took the beer she offered, clinking it gently against hers. "Cheers." Kit muttered as he took a sip. "Yeah I've seen him a couple times, why? Have you seen Chase since he's been out?"

KIT KIND OF WANTED TO APPLAUD the mastermind behind the dramatic video on the big screens, it had thrown everyone into a mass panic which was likely the reaction the puppeteer had hoped for. For Kit himself, well he was an open book, he had no secrets to hide. Ask him any question and he would answer, whether he was telling the truth or not - well, that was for him to know.

He had found himself back at the bar, a fruity flirty cocktail on order. Casually, Kit leant against the bar as his eyes scanned the room. The paper umbrella from his drink was tucked behind his ear as he took a long sip. "Man," he spoke as he dragged a cherry from the toothpick, rolling it around in his mouth some. "That shit was wild, huh?" Kit chuckled deeply.

"Stop being dramatic, could be worse. Plus you actually look decent. Mostly. You should've let me pick it out," they teased. They followed his line of sight and raised an eyebrow. "Okay but how are we achieving these six ways? I need a visual. I mean she's fucking you so I'm imagining a lot of possibilities here. I don't know if you have that much stamina, big guy." As the woman passed and looked at the two of them, Ella winked right at her, watching as she blushed and turned away to find her date across the room. "Are you telling me you don't usually pay for cabs? God, you're so cheap. No wonder your love life is the way it is," though they didn't have much ground to stand on there. Their love life had been a mess for as long as they could remember.

"I figure once the rich people start throwing money away it's time for me to drop a couple bands and then get the hell out of here. No one wants to be here for the end of this party, you know? Drunk old dudes and politicians. Actually those are kind of the same thing, aren't they?"

"WHO ARE YOU KIDDIN'? I LOOK great." Kit frowned at the blasphemy coming from their mouth, his fingers plucking the button of his jacket as he leaned back against his seat. "We're achievin' this in ways you couldn't even begin to imagine. Our sex would be one for the ages, god-like. They'd be writin' books about us. Think kama sutra but with me." he flashed a playful wink at Ella, knowing they were one of the few people he could get away with talking shit to and not receive a slap. "Hey- hey!" Kit snapped his fingers in front of Ella's face, a look of annoyance upon his own. "You agreed to stop stealin' 'em, how the fuck am I gonna get laid tonight if all you gotta do is wink?" he slumped back in his seat, although nonchalantly draping an arm across the back of their chair. "You tellin' me I gotta pay for their cab rides home now too? I already pay for their drinks." Kit had never been much of a romantic, to say the least.

"Drunk old dudes and their mistresses." his eyes glanced around the room as he spied all the men and the beautiful women so desperate for their attention, and not too far away were their disgruntled wives turning a blind eye. "You wanna get outta here before it all goes tits up?"

Of course Darcy Vanderbilt would be at the Fire and Ice Gala. There was no other obvious answer than the beyond wealthy British socialite known globally across the world to have connections and big, deep pockets - that was who she was and would forever be. Her blonde hair was near past her mid back in her red, flaming dress and heels - she looked immaculate and there was no denying that. She could stir the room with just one glance and she had plenty of photographers coveting her picture. A steely, doe eyed look was her signature along with her gorgeous blonde hair. She didn't need to come with a date, but in Darcy's mind - there was only one man there that night that got her attention.

Kit Harris.

She wanted him to come to her - because how dare she have to go after anyone, and her looks were beckoning him to come to her. They played a cat and mouse game, toxic and yet irresistible to one another. It wasn't until she found herself looking for a drink near him that her Versace heels made the cross across the floor and sighed, leaning against the bar. The blonde socialite leaned in close to his ear, sighing. "You really wanted to upset me tonight, darling, didn't you? First for not coming with me to such an event and then ignoring me all night for a room full of dolled up whores. And to think I once thought so highly of you, darling." She smirked, getting her drink, and she reached out to touch his arm. "You look handsome tonight. How shocking."

NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES HE circled the room, no matter how many beautiful women he distracted himself with, Kit could still feel her icy glare upon him. She was like a harsh wind in the winter, one you would curl away from, and yet he couldn't seem to keep his eyes searching for Darcy. It was something he loathed about himself, his inability to avoid the forbidden fruit. She was everything he wasn't, nor had any intention to be, and somehow that allowed her to become some form of infatuation Kit couldn't seem to shake - or even attempt to.

"Sweetheart, tut tut." his voice was gruff as he offered Darcy a glance of disinterest. "I thought you were incapable of feelin' any sorta human emotion and now here you are," Kit turned to face her now, a smirk tugging at his lips. "Pinin' after me." she was a woman who made him want to claw out his own eyeballs with a fork just at the shrill sound of her voice, but Kit didn't find himself flinching away from her touch. "I know you're wearin' that dress just to taunt me." he wasn't about to confirm or deny that, although the fact that he couldn't stop watching her was surely enough of an answer.

KIT STUMBLED SLIGHTLY ON HIS WAY back from the bathroom, his hand gripping his tie and tugging it away from his neck. The suit was making him feel stuffy and restricted, but he knew he had to play ball for the sake of the town and its image - however fake it might be. "This suit makes me wanna kill myself." he grumbled as he returned to Ella's side.

His drink was inches away from his lips when his eyes caught a very attractive woman passing their table. "Hey-" Kit whistled through his teeth as he tapped Ella's arm with the back of his hand, his drink now sitting limply in the other. "She could fuck me six ways to Sunday and I'd still pay for her cab home."
