The Emperor aka Twins’ Dad needs a vacation.
Had this idea for a while. Finally did something with it.
who wants more rebel padmé au (me, the answer is me i want it)
(commission info // tip jar!)
Vader, watching Luke throw himself into the abyss instead of surrender: "Well, shit. Yeah, no DNA test needed there. Only my kid could exit that dramatically."
So, yes, the implication is that Dagobah is familiar to Luke because it is a richly concentrated planet of Force energy.. but consider the possibility that Luke is also recalling through the Force a vagueness of the person who looked over him as he was born, in the same room, as Leia had with her open eyes in her vague sensational memories of her mother.
I think it's really interesting how (after rots) Vader tries to distance himself from Anakin. How he only speaks of Anakin in the third person and tries to deny that they are the same person.
"And there is one blazing moment in which you finally understand that there was no dragon. That there was no Vader. That there was only you. Only Anakin Skywalker. That it was all you. Is you. Only you." (ROTS novelisation by Matthew Stover)
"Black Spire hadn’t changed much since The Jedi had last been there, Vader noted" (Thrawn Alliances by Timothy Zahn)
Also when he sees Ahsoka in Rebels he says "the apprentice lives", again trying to distance himself, doesn't mention that it's "his" apprentice again trying to destroy the connection there.
He's obviously trying to destroy any connection to Anakin doesn't even acknowledge those connections not even in his own mind, but when he finds out about Luke:
Suddenly it's "I have a son" making a clear connection and implying that Vader sees him as his son (not Anakins).
It's the only connection to his former life Vader allows, he calls Anakin dead or not even by his name, not even Ahsoka who he was really close with as Anakin is only "the" apprentice.
And this is how it finally plays out. Luke is the connection between Vader and Anakin, he is able to get create this bridge for Vader to cross back to his former self. Because Vader in a way let him, he allowed this connection with Luke as "his" son and thereby also created this connection to Anakin. Because Luke was Anakin and padme's son, not vaders. So in order for Vader to accept him as his, he had to also accept Anakin as a part of himself, something he hadn't done in years.
Do you think Luke knew he was descended from slaves? Do you think he even knew about his grandmother Shmi at all?
i think it would've been pretty hard to avoid/hide, especially given shmi's grave being at the farm. the more fun question is does leia know
(tip jar! // comms status)
Was not prepared for the sudden, overwhelming obsession with Vaderkin and Luke to return this quick, but oh boy did it hit me like semi truck last night.
I CANNOT get ENOUGH of it. So the first pic if of course from the LukeandVader AU, but the second one is a new one I thought of called Renew AU
When the dark protege hasn’t eaten or slept in a week
I participated in the Vaderkin exchange @vaderkin-is-a-lightning-rod. I made art for @unlikecharlie. I did two prompts. One of Vader and Luke sharing a soft moment. And then another of Anakin reuniting with his mother in Force after his death.
The two images aren't connected by a story, but they could be.
Okay I'm sorry, Force Bond by @kittandchips is peak fanon Vader. His inner monologue in that series is incredible. It vacillates between murderous Dark Side rages, corporate burnt out constantly disassociating to cope with his toxic frenemy boss, and extreme self-loathing and neurotic single dad energy. Sometimes all within the same paragraph.
Dad Vader is always the best Vader ; )
Thank you so much for these kind words. Darth Vader/Anakin really is such a gift to fanfic writers with all his many personality shades and scope for change.
This cracks me up. The silent beat as he stares ahead, realizing he just got himself into deep shit before slamming his gloves to the ground.

First Day On The Job
The door opened, and every member of the Executive Separatist Council tried to stand behind the others. Nute Gunray lost, and shot a vicious look at his fellow councillors before bowing slightly.
“Welcome, Lord Vader,” he said. “We’ve been expecting you.”
“Good,” Vader replied, stepping inside, and waved his hand to seal the door. “Okay, so… first day on the job, how am I doing?”
“…at what?” Nute asked.
