Sunday Night Weekly Post 8/17
While I no longer have time to devote several posts a day to Tumblr, I still enjoy it and would like to keep up with everyone. So here goes my 1st weekly Sunday night post.
Work:
I've been in my promoted position for 4 weeks now, and it just continues to be more challenging. It's exactly what I want out of my job, but it's exhausting, scary, and stressful, but I do enjoy it.
My boss's boss, the director of our department, says he sees me in a management position with my own team within the next 18 months.
Being only 23, a year and a half out of college, and already in a 'lead' position, with this statement of management from the director, is both exciting and terrifying.
All in all work is good, everything and more I could have asked for out of my blossoming career.
Fitness:
While our goal of hitting the gym 3x a week for August has not been met, we have been staying active 2-3x a week.
Last week we went to the gym once, went for a run once, and went hiking.
This week, we went on two 3 mile runs. One of them was a trail run in a beautiful park in the area that overlooks Puget Sound.
This upcoming week we plan to do 1 run and 2 gym sessions (we only do weights at the gym and have been running outdoors for our cardio).
Food:
We've been doing low carb, high fat + protein since mid-March and we're still holding strong. I haven't weighed myself in months, but I definitely feel and see a difference in both my appearance & energy/overall mood.
We're not super strict, we'll have carby foods 2-3x a week, with a sweet treat about once a week. But when I do eat carbs, I definitely feel sluggish and weak.
Last week we had 'no carb breakfast lasagna', which we made again for breakfasts this week.
For lunches last week, we made chicken breasts with a greek yogurt Parmesan glaze. I added avocados to both the breakfasts and lunches, it was delish.
For lunch this week we made Chorizo Stuffed Poblano Peppers, they look amazing, I was so tempted to eat 1 or 2 or 3 shortly after they came out of the oven.
For dinners, we have meat & salad almost every night. Whether it's pork loin, burger patties, or chuck steak, it's all delicious, and I have yet to get tired of it.
Fun:
On Friday, the director let everyone leave at 2 (rather than our normal leave time of 5ish).
My coworkers and I hit up happy hour drinks/bites in the area and then went to a lounge to celebrate one of my coworker's last day with the company. After the lounge, a few of us headed back to her place for pizza, kitchen dancing, and gossip.
Last night, my boyfriend and I went to a board game cafe with one of my friends. We played a game called Dominion. Over the last year, we've become pretty big board game nerds and have built up our own collection quite a bit :).
Here are some pictures from the week:
That's it for me tonight, how's everyone else!?
