If you use the Cara app for your portfolio, have you been having any issues lately? I had a bug where it wouldn't allow me to edit my profile at all, so I deleted my account a while back and just decided to make a new one. Now it won't let me log in at all through Google or directly with my email address, it just stays on the Cara site, even after I put in the emailed code.
It's been a huge bummer because I think Cara is an amazing platform that could eventually beat out DeviantArt, ArtStation, Behance, etc.
The new year brought some hardships in my personal life but I’ve been trying to create more, and should be sharing some of it here ^^

Finding anchor points for the crew for an updated Freckle. Was struggling until his face finally clicked again and the markings helped rather than hindered his construction.
the reason most anti bullying psa's completely fail is because they fail to identify why people bully others, and fail to identify that kids actually do internalize oppressive structures REALLY early on. white kids understand that racialized kids are easy targets, and white teachers either fail to catch racism or are racist themselves. non-disabled kids understand that disabilities are easy to pick on, kids recognize the sissy archetype very early on, boys internalize that girls are lesser than them, kids notice they can take advantage of autistic behavior, and it flies under the radar cause teachers offer little to no support to marginalized kids or outright victim blame them. "ignoring bullies" is a model that assumes bullies just want attention. we should instead assume bullies are taking advantage of others.

Folktale Week Day Seven: Werehyena
“Like the usual werewolves in European folklore, werehyenas are therianthropic shapeshifters. Although normally the werehyenas are humanoid creatures who acquire the ability to turn into hyenas, on other occasions they are hyenas who disguise themselves as humans.
In Ethiopia, it is traditionally believed that every blacksmith, whose trade is hereditary, is really a wizard or witch with the power to change into a hyena. These blacksmith werehyenas are believed to rob graves at midnight and are referred to as bouda (also spelled buda). They are viewed with suspicion by most countrymen. Belief in the bouda is also present in Sudan and Tanzania, as well as Morocco, where some among the Berber people regard the bouda as a man or woman who nightly turns into a hyena and resumes human shape at dawn. Many Ethiopian Christians characterize Ethiopian Jews as being bouda, accusing them of unearthing Christian corpses and consuming them; the commonality of blacksmithing as a traditional profession for Jewish men in Ethiopia may be a reason for the connection between the two beliefs.” [x]

Folktale Week Day Six: The Thunderbird
“Described as a supernatural being, the enormous bird symbolized power and strength that protected humans from evil spirits. It was called the Thunderbird because the flapping of its powerful wings sounded like thunder, and lightning would shoot out of its eyes. The Thunderbirds brought rain and storms, which could be good or bad. Good – when the rain was needed, or bad when the rain came with strong, destructive winds, floods, and fires caused by lightning.
The bird was so large that several legends say it picked up a whale in its talons. They were said to have bright and colorful feathers, sharp teeth, and claws. They were said to live in the clouds high above the tallest mountains.
Various tribes have different oral traditions about the magical Thunderbird, which they both highly respected and feared.” [x]

Folktale Week Day Five: Jakhodo (작호도)
“Jakhodo, or “Magpie and Tiger Painting,” became popular in late Joseon Korea. Unlike the intimidating image of tigers in traditional myths, the tiger here is drawn with crossed eyes, clumsy expressions, and awkward posture—a light-hearted caricature of power. The magpie, meanwhile, is sharp-eyed and confident, often looking down at the tiger or teasing it—representing the voice of the people or truth.
These paintings weren’t just decoration—they were a form of visual satire, laughing at authority from the perspective of everyday people. The tiger and magpie aren’t mascots. They’re part of a cultural memory—a playful but pointed reminder that even art meant for the home can speak loudly about the world.” [x]
I fell behind on this challenge but I’m gonna try my damndest to finish!!

fat girl hourrrrrrr
More than one person making huuuuge assumptions of my eating habits and even telling me I must have heart problems (I don't) just because I drew myself drinking soda while fat and happy. Acting like I chug coke every single day and eat nothing but fast food all from one drawing........in reality the main beverage I usually default to is plain water. Even if I was as "unhealthy" as you assume I am, this is directly referenced from a photo my butch lover snapped of me while we were on a date and they bought me a drink while I was thirsty out of my mind and that first sip felt like a godsend. Nothing will ever take the relief and happiness out of this moment no matter how hard you try.
TLDR: I think fat women are hot, my butch thinks I'm hot, I regret absolutely nothing, and will do it again. Thank you
Folktale Week is late ;-; I’m trying to get everything to the finish line!
