Book Review (Beta [and Alpha and ARC]):

Jinxes and Drumsticks by Amanda Cessor

(available September 22, 2026)

Lillith and Damien are so easy to adore.

I liked the mutual insta-crush turned to almost-insta-love. They’re both so gone for each other practically the second they meet, and Damien in particular isn’t shying away from that.

I really enjoyed the way Damien safely got Lillith to open up and explore all things she never had a chance to. He gently pushes her limits, but only with what she's willing. He's big on communication, which I so appreciate in a new relationship with new boundaries.

Lillith is truly amazing. She's both incredibly strong and soft at the same time. Her medical condition doesn't stop her from doing what she needs to do, even if sometimes it slows her down a little. What does stop her is the generational curse she's stuck with, but that's a whole other issue.

The supporting characters are also perfect! They create a great opportunity for added depth of both main characters, and it works really well.

The entirety of the family curse related plot was so good, and you can get tangled in it so fast. My stomach sank right along with Lillith's when she realized her necklace was missing. The descriptions of everything are so clear.

I’ve been so lucky to read this book as it’s grown and changed, and I swear it just keeps getting better.

Book Review (ARC):

Petrify by Shaye Madison

(available July 31, 2026)

This book is so full of red flags, but they’re all beautiful.

Bastien is not at all a good man, but as much as he tries to be her villain, he manages to be perfect for Mallary. Mallary in turn ends up being exactly what Bastien needs in his life. The tension between them is crazy; there’s so much push and pull.

Obviously Bastien is obsessed with Mallary, but what’s really great is seeing her develop an obsession with him.

The setting itself is spectacularly spooky. I love a good Gothic romance, and this is hitting those vibes.

Petrify is a true horror romance, heavy on the horror. I had a wonderful time with it. This is a plot that needs to be experienced; you need to unfold it yourself.

Bet you thought I only read romance! Actually, about 95% of the audiobooks I listen to are nonfiction. I just absorb them better that way.

Here’s a handful of my personal favorite nonfiction audiobooks. Some of them have been read multiple times (I’ll let you guess which ones).

If you’re into weird topics and deep dives into history, I definitely recommend checking these out!

Age gap romances just hit different. There’s tension, power balances, and sometimes they’re a little forbidden, a bit taboo.

Honestly, a “f*ck it” moment is probably one of my top 5 tropes. It’s just so satisfying when one of them snaps, you know?

There’s just something about the (specifically) gray sweatpants that just gets everyone goin’. Is it the tapered waist? Is it the comfort? Is it the way a certain something might be more visible that way? Is it the confidence? Who knows! Could be anything, really.

Book Review (ARC):

Saving The Knotty Mafia Princess by Jessica Winters

(available now)

I’m a sucker for a princess in a tower tale.

I’ve already met Present Day Wren in the Starbrook City trilogy, and absolutely adore her, but this book reveals her backstory. I really enjoyed watching Wren’s growth from being so beaten down she couldn’t fight for herself to being a bubbly, happy person who won’t be stopped. She’s so clever; she just needed a chance on her own.

Exploring the personalities of the Alphas was a big win for me as well. They all work really well together, and it’s easy to see how Wren falls for them. I really enjoyed the “why and how” behind their relationship, and the lengths the Alphas would go to in order to protect Wren. Even though they’re the ones who physically save her, they give her room to save herself in every other way.

I guess this isn’t a cozy romance, but it feels like one. There’s definitely enough drama and splashes of darkness to keep it interesting, but the romance is soft and easy. It’s easy to fall in love with every character, and really feel for them.

This is such a great book, and Wren is for sure one of my favorite Omegaverse heroines.

Book Review (ARC):

The Ghost Of What Remains by Maeve Garner

(coming June 23, 2026)

I have been dying to get my hands on the last book in the Jasper Lake trilogy, and I finally have.

Phoebe is precious. I love that she simply does not take any crap from Rhys, instead letting him put his foot in his mouth over and over until he realizes she was right. She’s so gentle, yet strong willed.

I have to be honest, it took some time for me to come around on Rhys, but once I did I was all in. He seems like a jerk, but once he’s honest about what’s going on in his head, he’s easy to love.

Phoebe is probably one of my favorite characters to date, and Rhys is a good match/opposite for her. Their romance is hard earned, and they deserve it.

I am SO excited we finally got to solve the ghost mystery. It’s so much more complicated than just a potential murder mystery. There’s a raw discussion of family, grief, forgiveness, and healing.

I’m happy to have this family’s mystery solved, but I can’t help but wonder what other secrets Jasper Lake may hold…

If you haven’t figured it out by now, Omegaverse is one of my favorite genres. There’s so much room for different, unique takes and worlds, and it’s just so fun to read.

This is just a very small list of books I love that I think you’ll love, too.

(If given the chance, I could go on and on for hours, but I tried it keep it relatively reigned in.)

Since everyone (no one) asked, here are a bunch of monster romances I love! I really had to restrain myself here and only do a handful, but I’m pretty pleased with the list.

I wholeheartedly recommend each of these, for everyone from the monster lovers and the people hesitantly attracted to monsters.

Book Review (ARC):

Grave Errors by CJ North

(available now)

The moral of the story is this: it's all the healthcare system's fault.

Willow is my hero. She's so tough, because she's had to be, but there's so much more to her than just what she's been through. She cares, and that makes her great. I love that she's an ethical hacker, like, yes girl, make the world a better place one insurance company at a time.

Ezra and Ryker just about broke my heart with their backstories. I was already invested in them, and then they tell Willow why they're involved in the stuff they are, and it's just unfortunate.

I felt like the internal struggle the three of them were having about a relationship and the potential struggles with it were so interesting. It felt realistic, like, sure, they're kind of rushing into relationship territory and whatnot, but let that go and you're left with three vulnerable people just wanting to be loved, who are scared they're going to mess something up.

The different kinds of bonding both guys did with Willow just warmed my heart; it was so sweet. Even when they're trying to not fall for her, how can they help it?

I might have gotten a little too deep with this one, but I have a lot of feelings about it, okay?
