ㅤIt was a delight to be Carmilla Carmine's wife. Even though she's more reserved, she has no problem publicly addressing you as her spouse. After all she needs to make sure everyone knows you're happily taken. From cooking for you on your worst days to giving you small but significant gifts now and then, she also took care of you whenever you got cold, holding you quite easily in her arms.
ㅤIt was exceptionally chilly this day, even though it's hell we're talking about. More like, you at least felt chilled to the bone as you woke up, shivers instantly speeding through your limbs and torso, signaling that you're gonna have one hell of a day. You push the covers off your body and leave bed albeit your refined best judgement tells you to stay. Another shallow wave of bitterly frosty air hits your body.
ㅤYou know that you can't leave your and Carmilla's shared house. If inside you already feel cold, outside is going to be way worse. You call in sick to work, rushing to turn on the heat and have a nice hot shower before doing any of the chores around the house.
ㅤAs the evening rays of light shine through the window, Carmilla strolls in, thoroughly exhausted from work. Walking into the living room, she spots you wrapped in layers of blankets drinking hot cocoa while watching some movie on TV.
ㅤ"I'm home." She announces. You turn your head to look at her as she circles around the sofa to sit next to you, kissing your forehead. "Cold again, I see."

ㅤ"Come here, my love." She holds your fairly small body close to hers as an attempt to warm you up and comfort you. You gladly cuddle up to her, seeking her so needed warmth. Silence ensues until she breaks it by speaking up warmly.

ㅤ"Let's go then." She untangles you from the the blankets and sets your mug down on the coffee table before picking you up bridal style and carrying you to the bedroom. Your limbs wrap around each other perfectly as if they were pieces in a rather splendid puzzle. Just some minutes passed and you're both already asleep.

➙ Carmilla isn't the type of person to be saying "I love you" every chance she gets. She thinks that actions speak louder than words ever could and you can back that up
➙ Even though at the start she didn't really enjoy PDA, she warms up to that idea the deeper into the relationship you get, holding you close and kissing your cheek mostly
➙ She's VERY, insanely protective of you. As mentioned before, she has a soft spot for you. And when someone hurts you? Oh, they better fear for their (after) life. Nico never ate much and didn't really care to. Leo was more or less like him in that sense however he cared a lot about Nico's health. He decides to confess his feelings subtly while checking on him.

ㅤNico was known for skipping meals quite often. Whether it was because he wasn't at camp or simply forgot, that reputation followed him everywhere he went. Leo was more or less like him in that sense, spending most of his days in his workshop at Camp Half-Blood and barely once hunger striking him. After all, time flied by when he was extremely hyperfocused on a project but once he was out of that transe, he had one person in mind: Nico.
ㅤIt wasn't new to him that the black haired boy had unhealthy habits with food. He seemed to always be in and out of the infirmary because of it and that worried Leo sick. Despite their dynamic giving the impression that the two hated each other's guts, they actually had a crush on one another much to the obliviousness of both of them.
ㅤThis rather average day, the mechanic hadn't seen the other boy during the morning eating breakfast. That particular factor alone really troubled him, thoughts of where he might be haunting him. He acts impulsively and instead of going straight to his workshop to work on a commission by the Hermes cabin, he neglects said project and makes his way to search for Nico.
ㅤThe first place that comes to his mind is of course the infirmary at the Big House. His feet make him rush there and as soon as he's about to enter, he's stopped by an Apollo kid.
ㅤ"You don't look hurt. Need anything?" she asks.
ㅤ"Oh, I just wanted to know if Nico was here."
ㅤ"He is. Solace will keep him in here for a while but he should be back at his cabin in the afternoon."
ㅤ"Okay. Thanks."
ㅤPhew. His muscles soften, only after his thoughts come to an almost full stop does he realize how tired he got from running all the way from the Mess Hall to there. He slumps, walking back tiredly to his workshop.
ㅤAs afternoon arrives, he finally finishes the errand quicker than expected. He now can focus on checking in on the black haired boy. After changing clothes and cleaning oil off of his body, he walks off to get something for Nico to eat. An idea strikes him: he could bring an apple and chuck it at him. If questioned, he would just brush it off. Stupid idea, but it wouldn't be the first nor the last time he had one. He picks up a red apple and makes his way to the Hades cabin, knocking on the door.
ㅤ"Nico, it's me."
ㅤ"Come in." he says from inside. The brown haired boy opened the door and entered, closing it behind him. He notes that Nico didn't even bother getting up from his bed, simply sitting there and putting down the book he was reading.
ㅤ"Did you eat at the infirmary?"
ㅤ"No, I didn't." Leo sighs.
ㅤ"Take this." He throws an apple at Nico, who barely catches it and side eyes the other, seemingly noticing something yet not really voicing it.
ㅤ"Thanks..." His mouth takes a bite out of the apple, savoring, and Leo like the idiot he is just stares at him almost lovingly, though he didn't feel like he would ever admit it.
ㅤ"So..." He sits down on the edge of the bed, keeping some distance between them, "Did the Apollo kids finally let you off the hook?"
ㅤ"For now. I bet it won't be long before they call me in again." Leo nods understandingly.
ㅤ"I mean, if they don't have a reason they won't." He starts off by stating the obvious, trying his best to help his crush. "Maybe... I don't know, I get that it's difficult to sometimes eat throughout the day when you're focused on something. I do that." He admits softly. "Almost everyday, in fact... What I'm trying to say is, maybe we could help each other on that."
ㅤNico stares at Leo as if he had grown a second head before giving him a small nod. The mechanic feels at peace, knowing that they'll be helping each other. Spending more time together, he thinks. Comfortable silence ensues until Nico breaks it.
ㅤ"So what exactly happened?"
ㅤ"Hm?"
ㅤ"I mean, how did you know I was at the infirmary?"
ㅤ"Oh uh, I didn't see you at the Mess Hall and went to check in the infirmary."
ㅤ"Uhuh... And they told you I'd get discharged so you decided to check on me and bring me food."
ㅤ"Yup."
ㅤ"An apple?"
ㅤ"Yeah. Anything wrong?"
ㅤ"An apple?" He cocked an eyebrow suspiciously. Oh no.
ㅤ"Mhm." He got more nervous by each second, the slight pitching of his voice demonstrating it.
ㅤ"Is there anything you wanna tell me, Valdez?"
ㅤ"I have no idea what you're talking about." He seems to stutter a bit at the start, not really wanting to explain himself yet his cheeks betray him by becoming redder each second.
ㅤ"Sure thing."
ㅤ"I really don't know."
ㅤ"Okay."
ㅤ"I swear!"
ㅤ"I already said okay." The Hades kid mutters out, still not believing those excuses for one second. Leo simmers down, his heart rate going slowly back to normal and his face going back to it's usual tan color. Nico of course notices this and decides to tease him about it.
ㅤ"Feeling too hot, Valdez?" Blush creeps up again and Nico smirks at the sight, knowing he's getting to him.
ㅤ"I'm fine. Perfectly fine. Yup."
ㅤ"Really? 'Cause your cheeks say otherwise." Such a straightforward comment leaves him stuttering over his words, trying to find a good enough comeback. All he ears are giggles from the pale boy.
ㅤ"You're such a dork." He sits next to Leo, cupping one of his cheeks and leaning in.
ㅤ"What are you-" was all he could get out of his mouth before the black haired boy kissed him softly, paralyzing the brunette completely. When their lips part, he seems to be having a malfunction, still processing what just happened.
ㅤ"You-! You can't just do that!"
ㅤ"Why? Any complaints?" After a few more attempts to let words out of his throat, he ashamedly mutters a small denial. Nico's smirk widens once again.
ㅤ"Good." He pulls him into another kiss, both of them indulging in it eagerly before pulling away again within a few seconds.
ㅤ"Wasn't too hard now, was it?"
ㅤ"I hate you!" Nico giggled at Leo's words, cupping his face and pressing kisses to his freckles.
ㅤ "Love you too."

this was so fun to write!! again, it's probably ooc. i haven't read the books in a while (reading them rn tho, i'm on pjo tsom)
i think because of the whole "writers write for themselves" notion that's becoming increasingly popularized, people forget that we still thrive off interaction and kindness. i write for myself but kudos and comments and bookmarks and really any sort of interaction with my fics genuinely motivates me to keep writing and keep sharing my works.

Nico, the now quiet kid, used to enjoy singing so much. It was precious, really, singing to his sister Bianca. But now all that is left is this painful stinging feeling that more could have been said.
ㅤThe Lotus Casino was such a magical place, in the literal and metaphorical sense. As soon as someone stepped inside, they'd be overwhelmed by the intense lighting, the electrifying sounds of clinking coins and spinning wheels, the prominent smell of alcohol and cigarettes mixed, and most of all the magnetic pull they felt that turned their body into a puppet and lured them deeper into the space. There wasn't a single exception to this occurrence. That was until Nico and Bianca showed up.
ㅤTheir situation was utterly unique. They weren't drunkards in Vegas who just happened to stumble upon the grand and lively casino that Lotus was. They were brought here much against their will under false pretenses and a mountain of lies. Nonetheless and oblivious to such, they started accepting their fate and familiarized themselves with the environment, even finding places to relax.
ㅤThis harsh condition of living never stopped Nico from singing to his dearly beloved sister. Those 20's tunes were deeply carved into both of their hearts and softly entangled in the boy's vocal chords. Bianca loved listening to him and always made sure that he could do one of the only things that made him happy.
ㅤOf course, such led to the girl time and time again holding her brother's hand softly as they both rushed through the endless waves of people to the Hotel part of the casino. The pair at last steps foot inside their shared room and close the door behind them. Silence. A sigh of relief is heard coming out both of the siblings as they go over to their shared bed and lay down.
ㅤ"Finally, some peace and quiet..." The boy closes his eyes and Bianca silently agrees with him, looking up at the ceiling. The absence of any sound is broken by Bianca yawning.
ㅤ"I'm tired... Do you want to sing me to sleep?" Nico sits up on the bed rapidly and joyfully turns to her.
ㅤ"Yes!" His mood turns completely bubbly and his toothy grin shows it, one that could cheer even the saddest person in the world up. He begins singing a lovely melody he memorized from the radio, his sister being fast asleep by the end of it and Nico being equally tired. He snuggles closer to Bianca and drifts off too.
ㅤNico has always cherished those small things and now they were stabbing him in the back, gnawing at his skin with huge claws and holding him back from trying to move on. That's why he was kneeling down in front of her grave again, after all. These stupid feelings haunted him day and night, despite him running away from Camp. He sighs melancholically and glances at the tomb, analyzing its every detail.
ㅤ"Hey, Bianca..." He starts with a shaky voice. "I don't even know if you can hear me but I really hope you can. Things have been... Different. A bad kind of different. I have been having constant nightmares of you having the worst time wherever you are. Stuff that I couldn't stop, just like I wasn't able to stop you from dying. I know it was heroic and all but..." Tears caress his soft face as they fall from his eyes and his nose clogs, causing him to sniffle. "Gods dammit, I wish you came back to camp safe and sound. I want to be able to sing to you again. To see your face even just for a split second." His tears now sting his eyes and cheeks since now they come out sequentially. "You're amazing, so amazing... I love you so much." Nico lets out a quivering breath as he finishes his small speech towards Bianca.
ㅤThere isn't an answer. Only the leaves rustle around and the wind passes by softly. Of course. He should have expected this and now he just feels foolish for even thinking that there could've been anything but the absence of her voice. The boy reaches into a pocket of his old aviator jacket and pulls out a box, inside a picture he had of him and his sister together.
ㅤ"I think you should have this... For old time's sake." The box lays in front of the carved stone. He remains on his knees there glancing at her grave a little more before wiping his tears away, standing up and leaving, continuing his journey to find someplace he could feel at peace once again.
