Question I got is NO-ACT anti-contact with romantic/queerplatonic/platonic contact? Asking as I agree with alot of it but I myself am pro-contact zoo when it comes to romantic/queerplatonic/platonic contact sorry if im being a bother btw just wondering if it would be ok if I used it

this is the issue with contact stances. and this is why NO-ACT exists. its confusing for literally everyone on all sides of the argument.
anti-contact means anti abusive contact in the broadest definition. (i cant say it only includes sexual contact because it would be wrong for an adult to be in a romantic relationship with a minor with a large age gap)
even calling it anti abusive contact causes confusion, because many people consider their contact to not be abusive, even when it objectively is. (such as xenosatanists and some radqueers believing age gap minor/adult relationships are okay if consented to)
an animal is not going to be abused or really even affected at all if their owner considers them to be in a relationship.
my cats definitely consider me to be a part of their clowder, and that i am the top cat. this gives me euphoria to consider myself a part of their "relationship." but the level of care and attention i provide my cats is no different than any other non paraphilic owner.
The shimmerqueer community's fundamental misunderstanding of no-act's necrophilic contact stance is incredibly harmful. Just like their anti-consang stance, it is labeling innocent people as abusers and taking away the sexual rights of consenting people.
People cannot change their mind about anything after they die.
They cannot change their mind about what/who is in their will, they cannot change their mind about how their remains are preserved, they cannot change their mind about where they're buried, they cannot change their mind about whether they donate organs, they cannot change their mind about whether their ashes are spread and where.
But people know this before they die. They choose before hand to consent to these things, knowing they will not be around to change them. We do our best to respect these wishes because ultimately the person's body is their property, and what they want done with it after they move on is what we should respect.
I'm a zoo-exclusive necro, so this debate doesn't even involve me. I'm not looking to fuck any dead humans now or honestly ever. But who knows, maybe when I die I'll want a necro lover to have some fun with me, and I sure as hell am not going to let other people decide what I can and cannot let happen to my body.
Stop ignoring people's sexual rights because you don't like what they consent to.
The thing that really convinced me to be pro-para is how divorced attraction is from sexual abuse. people who actually abuse children/animals/etc usually feel no attraction - the same is true for all sexual assault. It’s more about power and the ability to get away with it. people who are actually attracted usually just hate themselves for what they can’t control.
essentially:
pedophiles: I’m a horrible person for feeling attraction I cannot control
actual child sexual abusers: I feel no attraction to children I just do it for the thrill
daily reminder that there's no such thing as a "harmful" para !! all attraction is morally neutral and harmless unless acted on !! big three paras are not more "harmful" or "dangerous" than other paras, and it's honestly paramisic to think so !!
Do you think tumblr will ever learn the difference between “I’m defending this person because I agree with them wholeheartedly and I am also like this person” and “I’m defending this person because your behavior is dangerous and you need to stop”
IMO, blurring the lines between “I’m defending them because they’re right” and “I’m defending them because you’re taking this too far” is step numero uno to cutting down the very existence of fair trial and democracy–even in places where saying that might seem a little dramatic.
Mob mentality is extremely strong in humans and it’s also extremely dangerous. Mobs don’t think things through. Mobs kill and they destroy and they can’t be reasoned with. Someone trying to calm a mob down isn’t someone defending the ~problematic party~ It’s time we re-learn that.
