Ya’ll are forgetting the best part:
Muhammad Ali requested that his star not to be put on the sidewalk, because he didn’t want people to walk on him. They honored his request.
It was done because he didn’t want people stepping on the prophet’s name. This was not an act of vanity.
This is an important distinction. ^
I’m here for these facts.
“I bear the name of our beloved prophet Mohammad, and it is impossible that I allow people to trample over his name,” said Ali at the time. He didn’t want to be walked on by “people who have no respect for me.”

20 Cognitive Biases That Screw Up Your Decisions
Remember that everyone, including you and me, suffers from these biases. If you find that you’re trying to convince yourself that you’re special, that somehow these biases don’t apply to you, then you’re only intensifying their influence. Here are a few choice biases that are hidden around every corner:
Availability Heuristic: People overestimate the importance of information that is available to them. A person might argue that smoking is not unhealthy because they know someone who lived to 100 and smoked three packs a day.
Bandwagon Effect: The probability of one person adopting a belief increases based on the number of people who hold that belief. This is a powerful form of groupthink.
Choice-supportive Bias: When you choose something, you tend to feel positive about it, even that choice has flaws. Like how you think your dog is awesome–even if it bites people once in a while.
Clustering Illusion: This is the tendency to see patterns in random events. It is key to various gambling fallacies, like the idea that red is more or less likely to turn up on a roulette table after a string of reds.
Confirmation Bias: We tend to listen only to information that confirms our preconceptions–one of the many reason it’s so hard to have an intelligent conversation about climate change.
Selective Perception: Allowing our expectations to influence how we perceive the world. An experiment involving a football game between students from two universities shows that one team saw the opposing team commit more infractions.
Stereotyping: Expecting a group or person to have certain qualities without having real information about the person. It allows us to quickly identify strangers as friends or enemies, but people tend to overuse and abuse it.

things i did that forced me to be a better artist:
used a reference for everything
thinner line art (you think thats thin? go thinner….)
sketch, then do a cleaner sketch, THEN start finalizing
THUMBNAILS
color research, picking a set palette or light/dark for each work
you like that pose? redo it one more time
USE A DAMN REFERENCE
do not rely on stylization as an excuse for anatomy
draw the goddamn background you coward
just draw the hand- a bad hand is better than a hidden hand
the rule of thirds WORKS
take a considerable break between sketch and lines/paint
know that art takes longer as you get better at it
draw the seams on clothes
stop aiming for accuracy and focus on fluidity and motion, accuracy will come with practice of those two concepts
just…do the chiaroscuro. just DO IT. no excuses it always works
stop making excuses, make yourself an art schedule/set weekly(or daily) art goals and just DO IT.
“draw the goddamn background you coward“
How do you do anatomy ? It doesn’t have to be super detailed but a little tutorial would be nice ! Or tips !
this is a little tutorial that i did for a friend a while ago, my style and things have changed a little since then but its pretty much the same! i hope it can help you!
how do you do your water color~? I cant get mine to look good in my program..
Okay, so having some nice watercolour brushes helps (here are the brushes I use.) But I think that no matter what program you have, and no matter what brushes you use, as long as you try to mimic the way watercolours behave you can get a decent watercolour effect in digital art.
Here’s an example
I present to you a sketch of a random floating head because I am a serious and not at all lazy artist.
I picked a random brush (square-edged, no watercolour border) and made sure the opacity was set to low, because actual watercolours tend to lay down paint quite thinly. When people are using actual watercolour paints, they need to think about which areas to leave white, so I tried to think about this too, but only halfheartedly.
More colours! More halfhearted leaving areas white. I coloured the hair on a different layer to the skin.
I locked the opacity of the hair colour layer, and airbrushed over the area where the hair and skin meets, using the colour of the skin. This, sort of, mimicks the way that watcolours will blend into each other while they’re still wet. The reason I locked the opacity of the layer was to preserve the white spaces.
I added two multiply layers. On one I added a bit on light red for blush, on the other I added a bit of light blue for shadow. These were done with the same square, low-opacity colouring brush I used for everything else.
Using the airbrush tool, I erased the edges of the blue shadow, again to roughly mimick the way watercolours blend.
I increased the contrast. I used the levels tool to do this, but brightness/contrast should be fine too. This highlights all the rough areas in the colouring, but I think a certain amount of roughness makes it look more like natural media, so I don’t think that’s a bad thing.
I decided I’d done a shoddy job leaving white areas on the canvas, so on a new layer (under the lines, above the colours) I used the standard pen tool to draw on some white.
I also decided the lines were way too dark, so I changed the colour of the lines from black to dark brown and set the lineart layer to multiply.
Final step, add an overlay layer on top of everything with a nice texture on it (because good watercolour paper is textured.) Don’t have an appropriate texture? No problem, here’s how to make your own in any art program that has a noise filter:
1) On a new layer, fill the canvas with a medium grey (approx half-way between black and white)2) Go to the perlin noise filter. You can play around with the settings and see what works for you, but here’s what works for me
3) Set this layer to overlay with approximately 30% opacity (again, play around and see what works for you) and you now have a lovely texture :)
And here’s a quick 5-minute digital watercolour doodle. It’s very messy, and could definitely do with some cleaning up, but I hope you can see how it’s starting to resemble actual watercolour.
Depending on your program there may be more things you can do to mimic watercolour eg. a brush tip that’s rougher tends to look more like natural media, your program might let you set a watercolour border on either your brush or your layer (or both) and using the blend tool can also create a nice watercolour effect. But since I don’t know what program you use I tried to demonstrate a colouring technique that should work in most art programs.
I hope this helps :)
friendly reminder: asexuals and aromantics are oppressed by the medical field and are medicated for a lack of interest in sex, a lack of sexual attraction, a lack of interest in romance, a lack of romantic attraction, and it is genuinely distressing to be told, when you’re a young adult, by an older doctor, that you have to feel a certain way or you’re broken.
there is a difference between asexuals and aromantics… and people who actively report issues with their sex drive. if someone actually feels they have a problem with ed or libido probs, they will go get help. but it’s all too common that ace/aro folx go to see a psychiatrist or therapist (who will then refer us to doctors) and we don’t feel that a lack of libido or sexual attraction is a symptom of depression or any kind of mental illness. but we’re medicated anyway. and that’s not okay. we aren’t given the autonomy to opt out of it without losing access to the only mental healthcare some of us have.
so stop acting like ‘asexuals aren’t oppressed’ or whatever, just remember that we are othered and considered deviant and we are coerced into correction by medical professionals when we don’t want it or consent to it.
By the way for the people saying this is fearmongering, psychiatrists and doctors have historically abused their power since forever basically. ESPECIALLY in the cases of women, POC, and people who arent straight/cis.
And also, in order for the “asexuality exception” to apply… you gotta already be identifying as asexual. Someone who is distressed because they have no understanding of asexuality can and in some cases will be treated for these disorders even if they dont have them. Someone who isnt distressed but doesnt know the terms or doesnt want to disclose their sexuality to their therapist can and do suffer from treatment they dont need.
If the person is a minor and their parents find their being asexual to be a sign that they’re broken there are PLENTY of doctors willing to “help” even if they dont need it, and that “”“help”“” can be anything from assaulting the patient to jump start things to a treatment plan that they dont need.
As someone who has had to personally deal with delayed diagnosis, gaslighting, and just general shittiness from psychiatrists because the doctors wanted to do what they felt like regardless of what was actually wrong, it’s really annoying to see people just going “fake news” at the idea of something happening that unfortunately still happens a lot.
Dont deny the idea of medical abuse or ignore it because it doesnt fit into what you think happens. Especially if you arent aspec and/or never had to deal with this.
