Enhanced YNAB release notes: 9 Feb 2016, 12 Feb 2016
My old laptop's in the shop, so my previous cue of YNAB saying, "refresh to get the latest hotness," didn't tip me off to 2 updates:
Older versions of the mobile apps enter scheduled transfers with the same amount on both sides of the transfer, so they will both be outflows or both be inflows. (Now we reallyĀ have to apologize to the math teachers!)Ā That didn't make sense, and now we fix it automatically when we detect an old mobile application making that mistake. (Now is a good time to make sure that your YNAB mobile app is up to date!)
You can now subscribe to YNAB from the Android mobile app. Preferably with a "shut up and take my money" GIF.
Clicking on the banner at the top that tells you that you need to approve or categorize transactions will now show you split transactions that need approval or categorization. You know, so you can do something about it.
We made some improvements behind the scenes to speed up/simplify how we import transactions from banks. Yeah, we know Finicity will probably break everything on us, but one can dream, right?
Dragging and Dropping to reorder accounts now works in Firefox. Feel the burn! (Sorry, it's an election year.)
We've consulted with our crack team of psychologists and process streamliners, and we're proud to announce that transactions are now automatically accepted when they are reconciled. For isn't acceptance but a step towards reconciliation?
Older mobile applications could cause scheduled transfers to get broken and duplicated. YNAB now prevents that from happening (and sighs heavily every time). We are going to be cleaning up existing "orphaned" transfers transactions and removing any duplicates we find. We promise to place them in a good home.
Older mobile applications could cause split transactions to have their "sub" transactions duplicated for a few budgets. We are in the process of removing those for affected budgets (and probably rewriting all of our split transactions code, since there's something about them every release).
Direct Import no longer allows blank or empty answers to be submitted when the bank asks for more credentials. They mean business.
Upgraded a few things on the server behind the scenes...for...for....for those of you who were really keen on that!
(The enhanced release notes are becoming self-aware.)
