Just so everyone knows, that screenshot of the interview with the Duffers where they debunk online theories is deliberately misleading. It leaves out the initial question, and given that context, Matt is saying he’s debunking the idea that Eleven didn’t communicate with Mike. The interviewer mentions the concept that "Mike made the whole thing up", and Matt addresses that first and clarifies that she did communicate with him, and in fact, bringing him into the void is part of why Mike forms his theory later on that she survived. Basically, yes the void scene is real. Just wanted to make sure this was clear.
