Adjusting to being Normal People would be soo strange for Martin and Jon that at that point they might not even be sure how to be normal ever again after all they’ve faced.
I need them to fight because they’re both traumatized and they’ve never actually done normal couple life. They don’t know how to adjust.
On top of the whiplash they had betrayed each other. They both went against each others wishes and along with all the love in their hearts for each other they’re angry because they promised.
Give me a teaholding who deep down know they need a break from each other at least for a bit but are so used to needing each other (whether that be for survival or humanity) and feeling scared and desperate in a world where they’re crushed by trauma, grief and guilt

OF COURSEEE GRINS. the au is mine and @klackwood ‘s !! their muse is martin and mine is jon, as if right now it’s mostly a twitter rp thing (which u can follow if you’d like! just dm me for the details we haven’t started our main plot thread yet) but i do have plans to write something that couuuld become a fic.
the main things we’ve felt out so far is a bit of martin’s Becoming, how jon’s desolation mark would be from him rather than jude and the fallout/toxicity of their dynamic that’s a big focus on maybe slight codependency.
it’s very monster x monster while also remaining a bit sweet on the side because i am writing with my partner and still get cheesy sometimes but jon has major issues and no problem with allowing martin to feed with or even off of him when it’s needed. they enable each other in that way
jon is technically still aligned with beholding but all things end up swallowed by time and nothingness, he didn’t even realize turning into the catalyst for an apocalypse was turning him into something more until his eye given abilities began to hurt him; his feeding needing to become more violent. sustaining the eye still sustains him only just barely.
any wounds he acquires fester as if the skin has died completely, charred and burnt and keeping him in a state of healing for much longer. over exerting himself with beholding can reopen these wounds as well which is Not pretty. his blood is almost black and slick like an oil spill, untreated scrapes ooze like toxic waste
as for martin weeeell he’s always been a bit angry, hasn’t he? it was pushed down for so long that he didn’t even realize how much of it controlled his life, he can’t Allow himself to be angry because it feels so bitter and wrong when he snaps like that. it’s both unfamiliar and comforting the way it warms him from the inside out to simmer in those feelings. i vaguely remember us also discussing how his hatred of burns could tie in with desolation already being something that had its sights on him from a younger age (similar to jons web encounter)

quick post before i lock myself in writing jail this afternoon but daisymartin friendship is so important to me u guys don’t get it.
this woman who is strong, scary, she’s violent and hostile and at first wanted to hurt someone he loved deeply but at the same time was there for him. she still, to an extent, respected jon the most out of who remained in the archives and was his companion when martin was away.
he may never forgive her exactly, he might even be angry at her (mostly for the sake of jon not being angry at her when he should be) but he’ll always respect her. he respects that she loved jon in a weird way.
their dynamic could be so interesting post season 5 in somewhere else….. plss

secondly, relating to this first question; i am by some miracle posting another tma fic and would really appreciate it if anyone who speaks/knows any Indian languages (or just specifically knows Hindi beyond google research) could go over some of the dialogue between jon and his grandmother once it’s completed to make sure everything is correct, respectful and not too formal or informal. it’s not much, mostly addressing terms, but i take that sort of stuff in fanworks ridiculously serious and it would be a great deal of help.
i lose a year off my life when i see skinny martin or white jon and i lose 5 when i see them both together. beautiful little animatic with 900 notes except i cant bring myself to like it because jon is the same shade as the wall and martin has a slutty little waist
