hey guys! - quick update post about my general life

so basically i’ve had a LOT of personal stuff going on and i haven’t been using tumblr as frequently - and it’s probably gonna stay that way until i can truly use this the way it’s intended.

i don’t really have time for it anymore, not in the sense i don’t love/miss you all (/p) but i have unfortunately, and i will admit, been slowly moving away from newsies. this fandom has been incredible at introducing me to people, and i have made plenty friends from it. seeing Newsies live CHANGED me fundamentally.

that’s not to say it’s not still my special interest - i just turned in a 28 page piece of coursework with never ending paragraphs about it for my class work. i’m doing my speech for my spoken language GSCE on it, and how it affected my life from 2023 until now.

I will be using the messaging, and i’ll be checking the dash occasionally, but i think i need to move on for now, and focus on my GSCEs and college applicants.

also i started watching Pose and i need to finish it sorry

The Umbrella Academy Season 4 (Deleted Scene)

AU where Klaus and Five get to finish their care free road trip in Season 3.

They got to visit Brownsville's Big Nickel, eat some delicious pies at Ricky's Bakery and Klaus gets forcably ejected from Cow Henge after suggesting they should try and recreate it with real cows.

It would become a yearly tradition where they would travel to different states and make it their goal to take the goofiest and most cringe worthy pictures with each roadside attraction.

They would bring back trinkets or odds and ends from various gift shops and gift them to different family members with no explanation.

The Ball of Twine was only the beginning!

Imagine Diego and Lila leaving their kids weekly at their grandma's house for a sleepover and saying they're having a "date night". Everyone thinks date night is like, movies and fancy dinner.

Turns out date night is actually both of them assuming false identities and infiltrating with the Keepers. They're also kinda roleplaying and openly flirting heavely with each other but aren't officially together in their false identities. Everyone at "book club" wonder why those two aren't fucking yet.

Plot twist, they are. A lot.

Most nights, after going to the meetings, they get home and order takeout and try to puzzle ehat they just learned together. They have a whole room dedicated to all the maps and connections and theories and all that. These nights also always end up in sex lmao

These are the best nights of the week, and the next day they're both fully recharged to continue their routines of regular working dad and stay at home mom.

Thinking about this shot from S1 again…

I’ve seen multiple people refer to it as the ‘dollhouse shot’ and I think that perfectly describes it.

The way there was used and puppeteered in their childhoods by Reggie to be picture perfect. They were manipulated and exploited for years, treated like toys to do whatever you wish with.

But as ‘I Think We’re Alone Now’ plays in the background, it emphasises their new independence. It really pushes how they’re free from the over-looming control of Reggie and the manipulation they had faced is finally over.

They are finally free.

Hard cut to Klaus talking to the girl on the bicycle

Klaus: “Did we save the world or screw it up again?”

She holds up an action figure of Reginald and crushes it in her bare hands. Marigold lights emerge from it. Golden light envelops everything

Hard cut to Klaus waking up in bed. He is wearing pajamas covered in marigolds.Street noise can be heard from outside.

(From offscreen) “You okay, Hon?”

Klaus looks over and Dave is cooking breakfast in their flat

Klaus: “Yeah, just had a weird dream.”

Looks out the window and sees an empty lot where the Hargreeves mansion should be.

Klaus: “Wasn’t there a building there?”

(Naïve Melody by the Talking Heads begins to play over a montage)

Diego and Lila Are wrangling their kids into the camper van. One of the kids gives Lila a picture of her family in a field of bunch of orange flowers (marigolds)

Luther is stripping and the obsessed lady in the crowd is Sloan. He has a marigold in his mouth. He takes it out and gives it to her.

Viktor is playing the violin with Harlon. Sissy is setting the table. She sets a bouquet of marigold into a center vase.

Allison is gardening while Clare and Ray play in the yard. She is planting Marigolds.

Five is teaching at some university. An older woman comes in. “Dolores” he says as she kisses him. He has a Marigold in the lapel of his suit jacket.

Jennifer serves Ben at the dinner. Closeup on her pouring coffee. He has a Durango flower tattoo that says “Jennifer” and she had a marigold tattoo that says “Ben”

Cut back to Klaus staring out the Window

Dave: No, been an empty lot as long as I can remember

Klaus, smiles: Yeah, I don’t know why I thought that

Camera Zooms out from the window as music continues

Reginald, voiceover: And that is how our unlikely heroes manage to create one timeline where everything was fine.

klaus got sober in the 60s and was still the same guy we knew and loved from season 1. so why is it they made him like that when he was sober in season 4??????

it really just feels like they reduced him to his sobriety in the worst way possible in season 4

it felt like all of klaus' character was striped away for the sole purpose of making jokes about how he was coping with his sobriety.

and i also really didn't like how much they made fun of his 'germaphobic' tendencies. as someone with cleanliness ocd it really sucked to see it made the butt of the joke when it's something i struggle with so much

Looking back into the whole “There is no bottom here, no bottom at all, I'm the goddamn Mariana Trench!”...That was one of the saddest things Klaus ever said. Everyone else has a rock bottom because they wake up one day and decide they don’t want to die like that. But Klaus can’t say the same because to him death is as meaningless as life because he believes there's nothing good for him on either side.
