....And then there was a Wedding Crasher
While googling (yes, that's where i sometimes get some of my 'inspiration') places in San Diego to visit, I stumbled across a website for Leo Carillo Ranch and I read up on who this character (no pun intended) was, and it was fascinating.
I decided that while I didn't have any set destinations in mind, and I wasn't wanting to head out to the very desert where it would be hotter than the armpit of San Diego, where we currently live. So I headed North. I ventured to Carlsbad., CA.
I set the destination address in my handy iPhone and started driving. When I got to the "area" that my iPhone was telling me to go, I looked around and noticed that I was in a blasted residential area.
Double-U-Tee-Eff Mate! So I re-routed myself and got there
(15 minutes later)
I parked my car and thought to myself: "Gee there's a lot of cars here!" Little did I know, that while I had desired to go to the Ranch and photograph, not all the grounds would be accessible as there was a wedding. So, what did I do... yeah. I crashed it. (The ceremony only.) So while I wanted to get more photographs, I was c*ckblocked. The ceremony was simple and not too unique, there was a bunch of religious factors that I am glad the hubby and I created our ceremony ourselves. I stayed for the entire ceremony, I did some people watching and I tried not to stand out too much. I wasn't exactly dressed for a wedding, so I'm sure I did stand out some. I managed to be in a crowd photo (dang being in eye-shot of the photographer)... so now this couple will have an everlasting photo of their wedding crasher.
Anyways, back to the reason for this blog. I created an earlier post in regards to the peacocks which I spent some time with at the ranch... I took some photos of them, sadly - I did not see the mysterious White Peacock.
Enjoy, to see all photos from the Ranch, (none were taken of the wedding I attended, sorry): CLICK HERE!
I will be venturing back there, and this time I will call ahead of time so I can venture around the entire grounds.
