Black sand for Deius meaning destruction. But also black sand for Cynthia's creation and life. Just neat
I really feel like both the moment of Amelia being kind controlled by Dominate Person and seeing Rooster cast a wish "on screen" should have been treated with more weight
Cause. That's Amelia. And she's attacking Kohr. Just a line of description more would have done it for me. But she also almost killed the guy
And secondly, that's the first time we've seen Rooster use magic to fulfill a wish. And it was without his lamp. That feels like a big moment and I would have just liked it to be a bit more impactful
Oooo biomechanical ship mmmmmmm that stirs my brain nicely
I get the vibes of that SOMA/SOVA (can't remember) game, or that eldritch horror game taking place on an oil rig
Eldritch survival horror sci-fi in DND! Hell yeah!
Gonna post my crack theory cause hehehe
Relisted to Fool's Gold: Sands and I paid extra attention to Marco after they got back to Teek(?) in the later episodes.
Felix described Paulina with the phrase "hence why she doesn't live there [the Underdark] anymore."
What other Drow do we know of that doesn't live in the Underdark anymore?!
Marco is described by Avery as "being so charming he comes across as suspicious."
What other Drow do we know of that's very charming and also very suspicious?
HERE'S WHAT I PROPOSE: Marco is Andromeda's son.
The story goes as follows:
~Once upon a time~ there were two Drow teens in love. Young love and they were starting to figure out life and emotions and themselves.
But then something in their city happened. An attack or raid led by a demon army under the banner of Abereth. Many died in the attack, either directly or from the damage caused to the city. Some were taken, some managed to flee, but most died.
The young lovers were separated.
Andromeda was taken by the army. Dragged deeper under ground than even most Drows usually ever go. But, he managed to survive. Eventually putting his old life behind him and focusing on his new life among demons. He managed to thrive, becoming strong and claiming a spot of power and authority in the very army that took him.
Paulina managed to flee to the surface. At first it was tough to adjust, and not just to the sunlight. But she managed to survive, and then through using her knowledge of potions, managed to thrive as a medic. But, when she fled from the raid, she didn't know that she was carrying a child with her. That only came to her knowledge during the later months.
The two young Drows never knew what happened to each other during or after the raid, presuming the other dead. Andromeda never knew about Marco and he still doesn't. Marco doesn't know about Andromeda, and he likely won't.

I'm also gonna shove my own DnD thoughts into this because yes. It's my crack, I get to flavor it.
Being able to use magic is a common thing. Not everyone can wield magic by themselves, many borrow from higher powers either through faith or deals. But, being able to wield magic is genetic.
SO MARCO GOT HIS ABILITY TO WIELD MAGIC FROM HIS FATHER, NOT HIS MOTHER WOOO YEAH BABEY
happy father's day to dndads in general... I love this stupid podcast more than words can express
this scene is so fucking funny the english dub of this show is so good

The really funny part is that many modern sources that want to gas up Sparta will bring up this specific anecdote, but stop at the "if" and just not mention what happened immediately afterwards.
similarly, "μολὼν λαβέ" (come and take them) is a really cool thing to say, made significantly less cool by having them taken
ITS KORE
I'M LATE, I WAS ON VACATION. ANYWAYS, HERE'S SOME OLD FANART OF KORE FROM FOOLS GOLD SANDS, I DREW THIS LAST YEAR SO HE'S NOT IN HIS COWBOY ATTIRE. YET.
I RETOUCHED SOME PARTS HERE AND THERE I HOPE ITS NOT TOO NOTICEABLE, BUT I GAVE UP ON TRYING TO REDO HIS LEGS, THEY FEEL A BIT SQUANSHED TO ME.
I'M HOPING TO FINISH ROOSTER AT SOME POINT! BUT FOR NOW GO LISTEN TO FOOLS GOLD SANDS.
I kinda headcannon that Kore had a relatively short lifespan all things considered.
You gotta think about it. Baphos demons aren’t made to be around for a long time. They’re there to get one mission done and after that, well.. Their missions finished. Now what?? There’s no point for them to really be around.
I doubt most Baphos demons missions are over a few years long, so why put the extra energy into making their lives longer than needed?
I give Kore about 30 years, probably. That’s really gonna suck. Especially considering like all the people that care about him are either immortal or live hundreds of years. (Nelthor, Rooster, Marco, Amelia, Andromeda,) Don’t even wanna THINK about if he ever has kids.
RIP Kore. Bye bye little guy!
