imagine thinking an unreciprocated confession = canon queen thatĀ called rejection
iāve said it once and iāll say it again.Ā queer people need to trust other queer people.Ā Ā
donāt question someone elseās labels.Ā TRUST that theyāve done that already.Ā if they ask you for advice, fine, but DO NOT go in swinging.Ā donāt go up to a straight trans man and ask why he doesnāt identify as a lesbian.Ā donāt talk to non-binary people and tell them that their identity is a sham if they donāt transition.Ā donāt ask bi people when theyāre going to pick a side.Ā donātĀ assume thatĀ someone who is ace isĀ justĀ repulsed by their own internalized homophobia.
like just⦠have respect for your fellow lgbtq+ folks because there are so few of us in an OCEAN of hetero-cisnormativity.Ā we donāt have to chip away at each other until only the Cardinal Few remain.Ā there is no reason that we canāt have space for the people who question, the people who change their minds, the people who dip a toe in and pull back out.Ā i am HERE for those people, just as much as i am HERE for the people who can write a dissertation on their attraction and knew from the moment they were born that they were Hella Gay.Ā Ā
there is nothing simple about self-discovery and frankly, iām not here on this earth long enough to scrutinize my fellow marginalized peoples.Ā thereās no reason to do that shit.Ā it does not, in fact, hurtĀ queer people toĀ be wholly acceptingĀ of any wayward identity.Ā non-dysphoric?Ā demi-gray-ace as hell?Ā donāt care, as long asĀ youāre fighting on my side, because iām fighting on yours.
inclusivity all the way, yo.
self care is nodding solemnly while reading self care tips you have no intention of following
Nods solemnlyĀ

[Photo ID: text sayingĀ āPeople who are unable to experience joy from activities that once brought them delight and satisfaction may be suffering from anhedonia, a symptom of a raft of psychiatric disorders marked by a lost or greatly decreased capacity to experience joy and pleasure from the things and people that typically provided joy. People with anhedonia may lose interest not only in hobbies and social gatherings, but even in food and sex.ā]
Anhedonia is most commonly associated with clinical depression, but is associated with a wide variety of other mental illnesses as well, from schizophrenia to PTSD, and even some physiological conditions like thyroid disorders, diabetes, and vitamin deficiency.
Anhedonia can take a number of forms and has a wide range of severity, from not feeling any positive emotions at all, to things you used to like doing ānot hitting the sameā.
Anhedonia is not normal, capitalism or no capitalism, and if you are experiencing it you should seek professional help.Ā Presence of anhedonia is a major risk factor for suicide - if you have two otherwise āequallyā depressed people and only one has anhedonia, that one is much more likely to attempt suicide.Ā Even if youāre not suicidal, it, well, sucks.Ā It has a negative effect on relationships (romantic and platonic).Ā It reduces your likelihood to work towards your future - Iām not talking like āyou donāt put in 110% at your shitty retail job in hopes of getting a promotion to secondary assistant sub-managerā, I mean things like eating food with nutrients, replacing the burnt-out lightbulb in your bathroom, staying in contact with your friend that moved away, practicing your drawing, and yeah, if it matters to you, itāll probably screw up your grades/your job too, especially a passion-driven side-job.Ā It inherently by definition involves you not being happy (or as happy as you could be), and isnāt that enough?Ā Itās not something you should ignore and dismiss as a sign of the times.
It is, however, treatable in the great majority of cases.Ā Talk therapy, medication, ECT, ketamine, TMS, vagus nerve stimulation, etcetera - between all the various treatments, there are verrrry few people for whom it is legitimately true that ānothing worksā.
If you feel like this, GET HELP.Ā It is almost definitely a sign of a larger condition, and ignoring it could very well be fatal - but also help, well - does help.Ā YOU DONāT HAVE TO LIVE LIKE THIS.Ā Even if it really is ājustā thisā¦Ā this sucks, and you donāt have to put up with it.
Crazy how I was just thinking about this last night
This is why sex education is so important and it starts at fucking home.
I legit didnāt even know that I was āmolestedā until I was in middle school because of my parents neglected to educate me on child sexual abuse.
My parents taught me the ins and outs of my body, including menstruation and sex, by the time I was six. I have been able to protect my own innocence ever since, and sex is no longer a ātabooā thing that could get me hurt if I was curious enough or taken advantage of.
This is an important concept for kids to learn, and if you disagree, get off my blog.
Honestly, keeping this stuff a secret allows predators to keep doing what they are doing without fear of getting caught.
Not just for predators or abuse but for basic health reasons, teaching your kids to be ashamed of their body is only going to lead them to hide anything that might be wrong.Ā
Too embarrassed to tell a parent about something wrong with your genitals and then by the time its found out your kid is dying of cancer, because you thought the word penis was inappropriate.
I hate, hate, HATE it when you describe symptoms of your mental illness to a neurotypical, and they compare it to an everyday thing and call it relatable. Makes their faces 70% more punchworthy.Ā
Relatable? This aint fucking normal my guy, if you think it is, maybe talk to your fucking doctor.
Oftentimes neurodivergent symptoms can be relatable to regular experiences, but only because of misinterpretation of the symptoms. For instance, if a particular delusion is described asĀ āthe belief someone is watching youā a neurotypical might replyĀ āhaha we all think that sometimes!ā when really itās an unshakable belief that cannot be swayed by logic, and itās debilitating. If an ADHDer saysĀ āI have trouble getting out of bed,ā a neurotypical might respondĀ āeveryone does sometimes, you just have to pull yourself together and do it.ā When these experiences are consistent, pervasive, debilitating, and indicative of a disordered brain, they are VERY different than what neurotypicals think they mean
I describe it to people like this when Iām talking about anxiety:
They say: well we all get nervous sometimes. (Or something along those lines)
I say: You know that feeling when you think thereās one more step on the stairs and there isnāt? Or when a child is about to fall and in the split second before you save them the fear that fills up your chest? Imagine that but all the time. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Then they understand. People with no mental disorders often have the same problems that people with mental disorders do, but it only happens to them a normal amount. A normal person can get scared, get distracted, get depressed, even have a hallucination for a second. What they donāt understand is that when you have a disorder itās that 24/7. All the time. Never ending. It gets in the way of your life.
They think depression is just being sad. They get sad sometimes. Surely they get it. But they just donāt. They donāt know what itās like to feel physically weighed down and hopeless for weeks on end. They donāt understand not being able to stop spacing out or being so bored that itās physically painful. They assume everyone is just feeling their feelings and having weird experiences in normal amounts and exaggerating. But weāre not. And Iāve found that if you find a way to explain it to them you can see understanding click into place on their face followed by absolute horror directly afterwards.
an analogy: I have 20/20 vision, but sometimes my vision gets blurry when I have something in my eye or they take some time to adjust to major changes in light. this doesnāt mean that I need glasses or that I understand what itās like to have bad vision. If someone complains about their bad vision, I donāt sayĀ āoh, that happens to all of us. just wait a little bit, your eyes will adjust.ā because thatās not how it works.
What I really hate about this is that it kept me from realizing for a very long time that what I thought was a ānormalā amount of issues actually wasnt. So not only is it super invalidating for those that know they arent neurotypical, it keeps people who dont know yet from finding out because they dont think anything is wrong
to all touch repulsed people: whether you're autistic or otherwise neurodivergent, whether you're traumatized, whether you know where it stems from or not, no matter the cause, whether you crave touch or not, whether or not you feel isolated or lonely, we see you and we know what you're going through and we love you exactly as you are. you shouldn't have to force yourself to endure social touch from strangers, friends, family, or loved ones; your body is your own and your autonomy matters. no one has the right to encroach upon your body or touch you at all without your permission. we understand your struggle and we're incredibly proud of how you've persevered š
Ah, yes, birthday. AKA the day everybody thinks itās their right to touch you.
Fuck off. Just because itās my cake day doesnāt mean I donāt cringe about hugs.
AND KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF MY BACK. IāM NOT A DOG, OR CAT.
Whereās my Touch Repulsedā¢ļø gays who get all the touch goodness they need from fanfics about blatant cuddling and emotional closeness like some sort of middle aged white woman who pays someone to pig out on a hamburger while she watches so she doesnāt have to cheat on her diet???? Is that one just me? Lol Iām fulfilled and Iām not sorry. Also donāt touch me.
