doppelganger: neo-queen rini
Sailor Vesta inwardly cringed upon seeing the brutal would Fighter’s attack inflicted on the doppelganger. She bet that’d hurt a lot. The flaming tiger emitted a low growl as it advanced on the imposter Chibiusa.
But then the doppelganger let loose a horrifying attack, one that destroyed everything in its path in a neat circle, fanning out from the doppelganger. The tiger let out a roar before being caught in the attack and dissipating. Vesta barely registered Juno’s shout in her ear before turning on her heel and running as fast as she could.
Everything was chaos. Debris was flying everywhere. Thanks to her quick reflexes and hyper-awareness due to the caffeine still in her system, Vesta was able to evade the attack. However, her luck ran out when a window shattered next to her, one glass shard leaving a large cut in her back. She screamed; the pain was searing and the gash was no doubt bleeding.
But soon that become nothing to the horrible, crushing feeling Vesta received after hearing Luna’s message on her communicator. Everything they’ve done to the doppelganger had been inflicted on the person it resembled.
Vesta had struck the doppelganger with a flaming whip.
She’d struck her princess, her friend, with a flaming whip.
Vesta had struck Chibiusa in the face with a flaming whip.
“NO! THAT CAN’T BE!” she yelled into the communicator. “THAT’S WRONG, LUNA! PLEASE SAY THAT’S WRONG! CHIBIUSA’S FINE!”
Juno was already trying to reach Chibiusa, so with Fighter injured, Vesta took it upon herself to hold off the doppelganger. Even with a huge, bleeding gash down her back, she was still able to stand. But what she could do? Both her attacks were fire. She’d already burnt Chibiusa once. And the doppelganger had other, more horrible injuries from the other attacks. All Vesta could do was harm her princess.
A sense of deja-vu washed over Vesta, causing her to let out a mirthless chuckle. It was like she was back at the circus, inflicting harm without knowing what she was doing. The irony was almost amusing.
What could she do? It wasn’t like she had any attacks that were useful. No healing, no defensive, not even any distractive abilities. How the fresh hell were they going to beat this doppelganger without killing their princess? They’d already horribly injured her.
They needed a plan. They needed a plan now.
Rini drew ragged breaths, her delicate frame heaving. Tears of agony dripped from her crimson eyes, but her face was set in stone, hatred turning once cherubic features into something wicked and ugly.
She had never felt pain like this, never lost control like this. She had murdered her mother, the Neo-Queen and taken a world under the force of her own power, but the agony these worthless, wretched creatures had inflicted on her was more than anything else she had ever encountered. Her own blood dripped to the ground from the pulpy mass that had been her shoulder and the scent of burned flesh and hair still lingered in her nose, and she knew, without a doubt, that she had never hated any creature so much as she hated the trio before her.
Inelegant fools, all of them, and they had hurt her. Damaged her, crippled her, brought her low and dared to ignore her in favor of the little bitch that was her copy in this world.
Ignored. Again.
No. She wouldn’t allow it.
She would never allow this.
Digging bloodied fingers into cold strength of the Silver Crystal at her neck, Rini bared her teeth in a feral grin, looking from Vesta to Juno to the downed Star Fighter.
“You... you got what you deserved. Your fake princess got what she deserved,” she added with a hiss, “For thinking you could put a hand on me without facing the consequences. When I’m done here, I’m going to rip her pretty little crystal from her chest and make this world just as much mine as the one I lost was.”
That she was threatening to kill someone who was herself didn’t matter at all - this ‘Chibiusa’ was as worthless as her Sailor Scouts and Rini would destroy her, her mother, her friends, her world if it meant vengeance.
“Let’s try this again,” she snarled, eyes burning, “Moon Queen Devastation!”
This time, the attack was aimed directly for Vesta, black and silver energy crackling through the air. She wouldn’t give them a chance to plan. She would make them fight and die.

The desperate warning carries through the still air, easily reaching Rini’s sharp ears, and even the pain in her cheek, the tearing, awful pain in her arm can’t stop the peals of laughter that fall from her lips. Eyes the color of blood sparkle with vicious amusement, and slim shoulders shake with the force of her hilarity - she can’t believe it.
Such perfect luck, to torture these pathetic miscreants and her impostor self all in one go, without having to lift a finger.
The agony that thrummed through her body was minor, compared to that victory.
“Don’t you regret your treachery now? If you’d laid down and died the way you deserve to that little fake you call your princess would be in perfect health right now, doing just fine.”
Divine punishment was a bitch, wasn’t it Scouts?
Even bleeding and weakened, an entire limb rendered useless by these blind fools, she stood proud, her fingers clenched around the Silver Crystal.
“That’s the problem with you scouts - you’re all so loyal, not a single one of you ever once thought about yourselves. It makes it so easy to kill you.”
Crystals had spread through the area, a response to her agonized will - now she bends, the designer gown she’d been so pleased with catching on a corner of one, adding new rips to the stains and tears the battle has caused. She shifts her grip on her Silver Crystal so that she can tear a chunk of the mineral she’d grown from the ground, testing it’s sharp edge against her injured arm by pricking herself, drawing blood.
“You can’’t beat me. You can’t even touch me without hurting that precious little brat you love so much. But I can hurt her any time I want.” She looks at Juno, Vesta, and Star Fighter seriously, her gaze hard and cold. “So you can fight me and hope you live to suffer the consequences or you can die for that inferior princess.”
doppelganger: neo-queen rini
The doppelganger was powerful, Sailor Vesta realized, eyes widening as the fake Chibiusa sent another attack right at them. On high alert, she rolled out of the way before the attack could hit her.
Looking back at Sailor Star Fighter, however, Vesta came to the conclusion that the other Senshi hadn’t been so lucky in escaping the black energy. “You okay, dude?” she asked. Without waiting for an answer, however, she turned back to the doppelganger, her scarlet eyes narrowing to slits.
This wasn’t Chibiusa. But was she human? The cry of pain she’d made when the whip hit her would surely haunt Vesta in her nightmares. Could she kill a human? Even if the human was attacking them? Youma were different. They were monsters, abominations of this world.
But what of a human, as malevolent and twisted as she was, who bore the face of her Princess? Her friend?
Vesta gritted her teeth. She knew she’d have to strategize, something she wasn’t very good at. With youma, she had enough raw power to fling at them without needing too much of a complicated plan. Or without worry about killing them. But maybe…maybe she could scare the doppelganger into surrender. It was worth a try. Anyone would cower in the face of fire, especially if it had teeth as sharp as a tiger’s.
“Vesta Feline Flare!”
The big cat was summoned, growing out of a small flame and into the size of a horse. It advanced, teeth bared and dripping with smoke and ashes.
Her face twisted in an ugly sneer, the gash ripped in her cheek spreading painfully with the expression. One of them had managed to dodge, but the other - the one with the stupid leather shorts and the ponytail - was struck dead on, and the way she gripped at her chest in pain made the humiliation that was her own wound all the more worth it.
She’d kill them all, every last one of the pathetic worthless souls in front of her, and all the ones that belonged to whatever whiny version of her mother lived in this world. Neo Queen Rini would destroy them all -
“Aaaargh!”
The last thing she’d expected was the shriek of electricity as a green beast assaulted her from the corner where the coward soldier stood, but there it was, the electricity crackling over her skin as the beast pecked and clawed at her before dissipating, leaving welts and burns all over her skin.
As she turned to attack the green senshi another attack struck her shoulder, a laser the size of her fist that punched through her shoulder. Immediately the limb went limp, muscle, bone and ligament cut apart.
Rini screamed, the mark on her forehead glowing black with her hateful rage and pain, the crystal she carried in her hand expanding into the shape of a multi-pointed star, each limb punctuated with a vicious point. Agony roared through her, the beat of her hearrt pounding in her ears as adrenaline heightened every sensation, blurred her vision and quickened her pulse.
There were no words for the attack that erupted from her crystal, a rippling tide of energy that spread around her in a perfect circle, the chill, crackling energy intent on crystallizing and shattering everything it came in contact with - pavement, stone, metal, all freezing over as the crystal spread towards the attacking soldiers.

“Yep! I’m here too!” Sailor Vesta replied proudly. She was excited for this–any time she got to fight alongside her sister was guaranteed to be a much better fight. “And I ain’t gonna stop drinking coffee! Well, tonight yeah. But the next day? Hell no!”
Focused on her sister, Vesta failed to notice as ‘Chibiusa’ held up her crystal and blasted energy at the three other girls. Caught off-guard, Vesta was knocked to the ground, the latte flying out her her hand as she landed on her shoulder. She cried out briefly at the impact, nursing a scraped shoulder when she stood back up again, looking for the source of the attack.
Vesta saw no monster. She saw no fifth figure, no obvious enemy. Only her princess, wearing a fancy dress and a black crescent on her forehead. Vesta’s eyes widened in sudden realization.
“So you’re the doppelganger!” Vesta accused, pointing at the other, malevolent Chibiusa. “Impersonating one of my best friends? That’s a hell of a low blow! Guardian of Fauna and Flame, I am Sailor Vesta and I will whip you into shape! SEARING WHIPLASH!” she shouted, summoning her whip and unleashing her attack.
A part of her held reservations against attacking this girl, especially with fire. But, she reminded herself that this girl was not Chibiusa–and she’d just attacked them. Besides, Star Fighter had attacked too, hadn’t she? Yeah. Vesta only hoped that attacking was the right decision to make.
Doppelganger?
Rini knew the meaning of the word, but she despised the context. How dare these pathetic soldiers consider her anything less than superior, than original. It didn’t matter that she truly was the invader here, the outsider, a queen with no throne to claim. No, they should have been able to see how much better she was than whatever shadow dared to share her existence.
That they didn’t only cemented in her mind that these Senshi were unworthy, unneeded, and soon to be un-alive. (Queens could make up words if they wanted too, so she would!)
But still, that didn’t mean she was prepared for either attack. Sailor Star Fighter’s blast, she could dodge, but the fiery whip took her by surprise though, and the flaming tip cracked against her cheek with devastating force, ripping her cheek open, the flames bubbling at her flesh and the petite girl screamed with the pain of it.
Tears came to her unbidden and unwanted, and she touched a delicate hand to her bleeding cheek, crimson eyes burning with fury as she looked upon these Senshi.
“You struck me,” she said quietly, the words heavy with the weight of her anger. “You honestly dared to strike me, you stupid, pathetic traitors.”
Her silver crystal glowed in her clenched fist as she raised it above her head.
“Moon Queen Devastation!”
Black and silver energy poured from the gem, crackling like thunder as it spiraled directly for Sailor Vesta and Sailor Star Fighter.
doppelganger: neo-queen rini
VesVes had been at her now usual hangout spot, Starbucks, when she got the message on her communicator. It was late, and she’d been thinking about heading home soon. But, as always, the game on her phone was just too addicting, and she was curled up in one of the comfy armchairs, and she’d tell herself that she’d leave just after she beat this level. But she never did.
Not until this message from Luna, anyway. Apparently there was a doppelgänger near her location. VesVes had never actually fought a doppelgänger before, so she wondered what that would be like. Were they human? Did they have powers? Just who were they copying? All of these thoughts ran through VesVes’ mind as she pocketed her phone and left the cafe, a half finished latte in one hand and her henshin stick in another. Eventually, she ducked into an alleyway to transform, and latte still in hand, Sailor Vesta hurried to the location.
Evidently, she wasn’t the only one in the area. That was a relief. Vesta knew she was in the right location when she spotted JunJun, Chibiusa, and what looked like one of JunJun’s friends. What was their name again? Vesta reminded herself to ask that soon; she could be quite forgetful with names sometimes. Keeping that in mind, the Senshi grinned and headed over to her friends, still transformed.
“Hey, guys! Didn’t know you all were around. Do ya know where the doppelgänger is?” She took a sip of her latte and added, “This is my third coffee, so I’m pumped and ready. That doppelgänger is gonna have a tough time fighting me. Hey, Chibiusa-chan, nice dress! Didn’t know you were into glamour and all that. So, yeah, where’s the doppel thing? I’m so ready. I’m hyped. Let’s DO this thing, guys!” She bounced on her heels, the caffeine filling her with an extra burst of energy. Because of that, though, she failed to notice the obvious differences from this Chibiusa and the Chibiusa she called her friend.
What kind of name was Chibiusa?
This was the foremost thought running through Rini’s mind as not one, not two, but three Soldiers approached her, each of them obviously mistaking her for whatever miscreant figure existed under her name in this universe. She sneered at them, utterly unimpressed that not a one of them could see that she was far better than their comrade.
None of them were familiar - not a one looked like a Soldier she recognized, and their power felt different from all the others she had encountered, but no matter. There was no way they could beat her silver crystal!
Said crystal held in her clenched fist, she looked up at each of these older girls, and spoke, disdain dripping from every word.
“You’re all so incredibly useless. You’re even worse than Mama’s Soldiers were.”
And then power would flare from the gem, intent on striking them all to the ground. The moon’s symbol glowed a malevolent black on her forehead.

This world, these people, they were so pathetic and stupid. They never once suspected her, even as their friends changed priorities, even as their hotels registered rooms that were never paid for. Even as she walked off with clothes that cost more money than most of them had ever seen in their pathetic little lives, they underestimated her.
Sure, she was using Luna P to mind control people, but the fact that no one even suspected that she might be up to something only convinced Rini of her own superiority.
The fact that none of the stupid sailor scouts - especially Serena, that crybaby - had even bothered to find her, just proved she was in a stupid universe.
Even the one of them who did find her didn’t even do anything!
Useless, the lot of them. A man in a business suit approached her, offering a slice of cake. Rini took one look at the offering and slapped it to the ground, glaring at the mindless loser.
“I said I wanted strawberry shortcake, not strawberry cake! How do any of you manage to go on living when you’re all so stupid?!” She raised her silver crystal and a pulse of pink light washed over the area, knocking everyone but herself unconscious.
Rini snorted disdainfully, tucking away the gem and lifting the hem of her glamorous dress, stepping over the man. There had to be something worthwhile around here.
Risky Venture
“You don’t even know what I’m going to ask,” she pouts, poking her tongue out as if she were the child her body reflected, rather than the queen she truly was. “Didn’t anyone ever teach you not to judge without cause?”
This senshi was irritatingly suspicious and not nearly as clever as she thought she was.
It’d be easier - more relaxing - to just kill her. But no, o that wasn’t the smart thing. It was better to play at being a child, harmless and bratty.
Haruka kept quiet nonetheless at the quip. She wanted to smack the brat into oblivion but doubted it would be wise to do so at the moment. Slipping her hands into her pockets, she watched her and fell into playing along to keep things peaceful for a time between them.
Being suspicious was part of her job, and being clever wasn’t always on the forefront of her mind. Bluntness overruled that portion when it came to it. Settling with Rini, she raised a brow to the girl wondering just what sort of things she was going to ask. Any answer would have to be carefully thought out before given.
The kid looked like a child but she knew well enough looks were highly deceiving.
Serena would want to know about her, she had no doubt about that; she just had to find her. Rini was more than willing to bet that the past version of her mother would be more entertaining than some stuffy, paranoid little Senshi.
She smiled at that quirked up brow. "I wanna know where my Mama is. Everything in this city is so big, and it's all in Old Japanese, but she's gotta be here somewhere . Puu wouldn't have sent me here if she wasn't."
Puu was dead. She couldn't send anyone any where.
“My mother trusts me,” she lied through her teeth with a bright smile, as if the mere thought of her mother didn’t make her want to kill. “And my Papa works as a security guard for that bank,” she points across the street.
Well - she’s surprised. An actual useful tip from self centered, squawking woman. Time must have passed, for that kind of growth. Rini was a small girl, physically a child, but that didn’t mean she had to dress small.
“You’d know all about the best fashions, wouldn’t you? Your clothes are gorgeous.”
“Mhmm,” she continued to eye the girl suspiciously but shrugged. Not her monkeys, not her circus. She wouldn’t worry about this little kid’s safety. It was the parents’ job.
“Of course, I would know. It’s my job to know. As a model, at any time, I could be asked who am I wearing and from which collection. It’s mandatory to stay up to date.”
Esme politely smiled at the compliment. She would have to throw out these clothes later. The girl had complimented her clothes and not her meaning that the clothes stood out more than she did. Unacceptable.
Oh Esmeraude. It was so much fun to mess with her, more than Rini had expected. She just knew her ego wouldn’t let her be happy with the compliment - se was probably finding some inner meaning to get botbered by as they spoke.
There was still danger of being found out, of course, but really that was more because she didn’t want any blasted senshi watching her than anything. It was certainly not enough to turn her away.
“That’s a lot of memorizing! New clothes lines come out all the time, do you really have to know all about them? Do you have to know all about make up too?”

“By yourself?” A single eyebrow rose suspiciously, but she didn’t comment any further. “You came at a good time. The stores have recently restocked with the most recent in fashion. Avoid the sales and clearances. You don’t want to be caught dead in something so last season.”
“My mother trusts me,” she lied through her teeth with a bright smile, as if the mere thought of her mother didn’t make her want to kill. “And my Papa works as a security guard for that bank,” she points across the street.

“Well of course you do,” Rini rolled her eyes. “I mean… I’m obviously even farther from home than I thought.”
She’d planned to go to the past. To before she’d seen the light for the lie that it was, and recruit the Sailor Moon of her mother’s past once more. Instead, here she was, in some strange place, where her mother had a different daughter.
It was a problem. Problems and problems and problems. “You talk to me, and I can talk to you. We’ll help each other out~”
Haruka kept up her own act while wondering just what she was getting herself snagged into partly. It wasn’t like her to just bow down to anyone in particular but here she was managing to not kick the danger right out of the road just yet. There were answers she needed to get out of the girl to find out just what place she was from.
Her world was not Rini’s home and she would not allow it to be that way. “We’ll see. I’m not so sure if I want to divulge information so easily in some ways. I’m not one to blab like others might.” she murmured.
“You don’t even know what I’m going to ask,” she pouts, poking her tongue out as if she were the child her body reflected, rather than the queen she truly was. “Didn’t anyone ever teach you not to judge without cause?”

“Ah, it’s that time of December again, isn’t it? ‘Christmas’… The dreams I see are especially beautiful in winter, it’s truly when I see pure souls shining the brightest.”
“Who are you talking to?”
This one drew her - he was interesting, with his white hair, his curious clothes, and more important above all else, his aura. He felt like a dim bulb, compared to the Senshi she had escaped from, but he wasn’t a human. Humans didn’t draw her silver crystal like that. And the fact that he seemed to be talking to himself, that helped.
“Isn’t Christmas just a date night?”

“Let’s… go somewhere I guess. And talk. I wanna know who this ‘Cheebusa’ is,” she frowns, mutiliating the unfamiliar syllables.
What kind of name was that?
Haruka agreed to move some place else would be wiser but she was particular in how she would speak about Chibiusa. She’d be damned if she was going to be used in the wrong manner by someone. In a way, she had her own questions for Rini and in just how she intended to slip around.
“All right, I have some questions for you too.”
"Well of course you do," Rini rolled her eyes. "I mean... I'm obviously even farther from home than I thought."
She'd planned to go to the past. To before she'd seen the light for the lie that it was, and recruit the Sailor Moon of her mother's past once more. Instead, here she was, in some strange place, where her mother had a different daughter.

kokugatsunousagi:
“A-alright,” she stammers, forcing the grin away in time to look up at the stranger Senshi.
There was a still a chance she was lying - that she would change her mind when they were away from others, but Rini isn’t too concerned about that, in all truth. Her mother’s Senshi had all had this insufferable goodness. This truth to them. They’d turn on her if they discovered the truth but not before. Of that, she’s fairly certain.
“I’ll trust you. You can’t be bad if you work with my mama,” laying it a little thick, but that should sound right - should sound like someone who was actually the age she looked would say.
‘Oh kid, you have no idea how I can actually be.’
The thought quickly left her mind as she rose back to her feet. The public would no doubt notice if she made the wrong move and so she steeled herself to keep a cool face despite the anger in her blood and the annoyance with it as well. She’d have to get in contact with others to let them know to keep their eyes open for this particular one. If she wasn’t careful, the kid could cause her extreme chaos in the future.
“Hm, I suppose so but I don’t hurt kids.”
"Let's... go somewhere I guess. And talk. I wanna know who this 'Cheebusa' is," she frowns, mutiliating the unfamiliar syllables.

green–esmeraude:
kokugatsunousagi:
The lapse in composure only confirms for her who this woman is. How was she here? How were so many of the deceased here, and without raising alarm from Sailor Moon.
It was more prudent to go along with the deception, even if Rini doesn’t like her tone. “O-oh. I’m sorry, Ms. Esme!”
Esme rolled her eyes. Kids these days. They were annoying. Why would one even be talking to the CEO? She hadn’t done a photo shoot in four months, so she wasn’t on the covers of any magazine.
“Whatever,” she answered but slightly pleased that the little girl had apologized. At least this brat was a polite one. “Did you need something? Are you lost?” she asked finally. Yes, Esme could be nice.
She’d forgotten how rude Esmeraude was. How utterly self centered she could be, but that was fine. She could use that, somehow.
“No. I’m going shopping by my self today! Thank you for asking miss,” She bows politely, considering what she could do.
