There was only so much worms a dainty girl could take. Not wanting to feel the squirming in her ears any more, the girl practically lunged at the boy still fallen upon the floor, cupping his face in both hands and straddling him at either side—no no no, her mother is going to scold her, but that was not today’s problem—as she crashed her lips against his, probably too hard, and probably too lingering. “There! Now get these worms out and get the snake out of my closet! Please!”
"See, I don't think you're actually going to --," His haughty statement was abruptly cut off by her lips on his own. Concentration broken, the worms disappeared entirely. Heck, this was better than any hit she could deal out -- but he wouldn't admit that. A goofy grin appeared on his now-vacant tiers at her request. "Okay, but I said kisses. I expect more later." His hands found her thighs and he patted them lightly. "In the meantime, I think I can get the snake out of your closet easier if you're not...you know...on top of me."
Pft? What excess? [ ’ she managed a small scoff, moving her legs just a little bit as she was held, peeking over just a little to check where on earth they were going ] And ha. As I said, first and last. Maybe I’ll get mother to buy me a machine—then we can play back in England and I could wipe the floor with your face again.
That excess. [/he decided not to say anything else about the matter, and continued to trudge along the terrain. he couldn't help but laugh at her statement] C'mon, Lizzy, let's be honest here -- you will never, ever, ever be able to beat me in DDR, you noob.
She had to agree on that one, snakes weren’t known for being terribly loved among people in general. Well they were almost slimy, cold and just very easy disliked. Moving the steel mug in circles, she couldn’t help but chuckle at his constantly changing topics. “Most girls are sucker for chocolate, and I’m sorry to say I haven’t seen that anime.”
Nike glanced at him once, his actions oddly cute for a man wearing a snake around his neck. “Now who’s the girl then?” Perhaps she wasn’t in place to ask such details, but people tended to speak up to people in charge of making their beverage. Finding the milk warm enough, she proceeded to take the cup away from the machine and on a plate. Still with a small smile on her face she poured the milk carefully, allowing it to form a leaf of sorts as it mixed with the expresso.
He nodded, happy that his choice was, in general, acceptable. Lizzy had told him too many times that he shouldn't generalise, but it didn't hurt to have some idea of how girls actually worked. One would assume that he would get the hang of it after almost a decade of knowing each other, but that was not the case. He was just as clueless when it came to the opposite gender as he had been when they were children.
"It's a good anime," he told her, if only to fill the relative silence. A hand continued to pet the animal around his neck, as if to comfort the restless animal. Although Sir Nelson wasn't the type to randomly slither off, the serpent had a tendency to occasionally strangle its master when it got restless, and petting it was Kookie's way of preventing such an embarrassing thing from happening. "I mean, I like the manga more, but the anime is defs A plus."
For some odd reason now that Serri had joined the academy, she had picked up the habit of sleeping in late. Was it perhaps her body begging for some much needed rest since she was usually the first one awake out of her circle of girl friends? Regardless of the reason, it had become obvious to her that if some other force would wake her up before she herself decided to get up, she would be in the foulest of moods with a headache to boot.
And as if on cue, the sudden pounding on her door startles her awake as she rests a hand on her head, groaning internally as she knows what the effect of this wake up call will be. Furious, Serri gets out of bed, kicking off the blanket out of anger as she opens the door, her piercing eyes meeting that of a young male. As if to boot she had heard his final phrase ring in her ears once again, the mention of her father already causing her blood to boil.
"Why would I need a deadbeat dad to do my work when I can do it all by myself?"
"Dear gods," he exclaimed out of surprise, mostly at the mere act of the door opening with such ferocity that he was afraid that he'd be greeted with a knife to the neck -- or something of the sort. It surely wouldn't be out of the ordinary. He had snakes, and always had a small blade in his boot, so it wouldn't surprise him if students carried weapons around (no matter how discreet it was). It took a while for her words to sink in, and he blinked, dumbfounded. "Oh, uh..." He extended a flyer towards her shamelessly anyway. What was it they said about not killing the messenger again. "I didn't know, but, like, do you want a flyer or not? I'm only doing my dad 'cause your dad hired me and stuff." He paused and laughed nervously. "Please don't kill me."

The phone went off obnoxiously somewhere in the sheets of this god-awful too-large bed, and if Kookie didn't like Lizzy so much he would've regretted coming with her to her home in England in the first place. Already he was nervous about missing classes, and he kinda hoped that it was one of his instructors who messaged him. Sadly, this was not the case when he opened the message, and he screamed his head off, almost throwing his phone against the opposite wall in horror.

You ready? Ready, set… Go!
[ ’ she didn’t really like the situation; she was always the one who carried him back to their house nurse whenever he ended up injuring himself in training. but she could only sigh for now, not wanting to worsen her leg and get scolded by her mother for the repercussions ] Pride is the most important. [ ’ she huffed, tightening her grasp a little, before heaving in a deep breath ] But at least you did not let me win—I’d hate you forever if you did that.
Uh-huh. It's also a really bad thing to have in excess. [/he paused a litlte and decided to take a shortcut through dense vegetation. there was a rough path through there, and it took less time to get to the academy that way] And I'm not ever gonna let you win. That would be rude. I'm takin' every chance at winning I can get, thank you very much.
If there was one lesson she cherished the most from her mother’s endless trivialities, it would be that there were times that it was okay to not be a lady. It would not be long before her haughty facade breaks and she collapses into a pile of tears from the ticklish motions of the mist worms crawling out her ears, but she had to keep it up, had to keep her pride up and never give in to the requests of this young man too easily. With her glare still downcast, she lowered herself so she was squatted at his level, her hand rather harshly cupping his face as she none-too-gently pulled him towards her. “I’ll be giving your reanimated corpse kisses if you don’t get that snake out of my closet, Kookie.” She’d stutter, but that would just ruin her hard-built act. “Or maybe I could just stab it out before stabbing you and sending you and your friends down Daddy’s castle.”
Really now -- the worms were already dropping to the ground in squirming clumps, and even he was unnerved by them. He even squirmed slightly in discomfort at the way the worms dropped onto his shoes, but he refused to give in, despite shuddering at the sensation of a worm attempting to burrow itself into his shoe. "...Kisses first, then I make the worms disappear. Getting the snake out of your closet comes after. No tricks this time, I promise."
As if to provide an instant answer to his question, a small yawn went out of her lips, and the parted tiers immediately curled up into a small smile upon his gesture. “A bit. I didn’t get nightmares or anything, but packing was not an easy task.” She offered a small nod, before tightly clutching upon his wrist to psyche them both up for the shadowtraveling feat. “Hold onto your belongings tightly, close your eyes, and try not to think too much.” With a small sigh, she willed them out in a flurry of dark shadows, inconspicuously reappearing on an alleyway just behind the designated cafe. She heaved out an exhausted breath, leaning unto the other just a little for support. ”Ahh, I’m still not used to that.”
The boy nodded, knowing better than to refuse to listen to Lizzy's instructions. Lizzy always knew what to do. The whole travelling by shadows thing still caught him off-guard at times, but otherwise he was okay with it -- which was why he was able to let go of his luggage and hold onto her instead as she leaned against his form. "Mm, good thing I'm here to catch you if you ever do fall," he quipped, adding a cheesy grin. "Are you okay, though? Uhm...physically, I mean."
If there was any person she could be emphatic with, it would be Kookie. Did he expect her to say yes to his offer? Hopefully not—she did have a lot of packing to do and she did not know if she wanted to bother his own repose before the big flight. Almost as a reflex, she stood up after him, wrapping her arms around his torso as she lightly pressed against his back—if it was for warmth or thanks or affection, it would never be clear. “You may walk me back to the room, please. You being here is already enough—I wouldn’t want to be any more of a bother, Kookie.”
Oh, he knew what it felt like to lose someone and think that it would be the end of the world because of that loss. But he wasn't like Lizzy -- he had preferred to be alone, and refused to speak of things that could possibly incite tears, and only when she came to him did he cry. Which was why it didn't surprise him at all when she hugged him, and he ended up prying her arms off so that he could hold her hand instead. "You will never be a bother to me, Lizzy." Giving her knuckles a light kiss, he began to led her forward towards her room, respecting the fact that she wanted to sleep alone.
She nodded, well that made sense. Sort of. A little, maybe. Involuntarily a shiver shot up through her spine. “I’m sorry, I’m really bad at dealing with snakes.” The goddess was sure he had noted his reaction, but hopefully he wouldn’t take it wrongly. Chuckling sheepishly, she moved her attention to his order.
With trained movements she pressed the grounded coffee beans in place, the machine slowly pouring the espresso into his cup. Turning around to face the boy, she pointed to the two batch of cookies lying close to him. “We have normal chocolate chip, and then we have those with pieces of hazel nut and white chocolate!” Nike offered him a smile before turning to heat the milk in the little steal mug.
"That's okay, not many people like snakes anyway," he reassured her, scratching the back of his head again as he laughed lightly. "It takes people who don't scare easy -- or, in my case, people who've been practically raised by snakes. If I was an anime or manga character, I'd be, like, Snake from Black Butler --!" He cut the beginnings of an excited rant short; he didn't expect her to understand what he was saying at all.
"Ooh..." He squinted at the cookies before happily pointing at one. "Two of the white chocolate ones please! Wait...do you think girls like that? I mean -- I should know what she likes, but...I mean, she's a girl, so --,"
Mmf. [ ’ she began to speak, yet her supposedly lady-like and haughty speech was interrupted by another cute yawn, and she unconsciously burrowed her head against the nape of his neck ] A Kingsleigh lady never turns down a challenge, dummy. Never, ever, ever.
[/he laughed lightly -- softly, when he felt her head rest against his nape. he didn't mind this: finally being the one who carried the temporarily-vulnerable one. he'd always been the weaker out of the two of them, but now he was strong enough to at least carry her like this] Yeah, yeah, whatever. At least you didn't break anything important. Other than your pride. Hah.
No, this time he was not going to get her. Though she did feel the rather ticklish motions his mist worms were doing in her ears, she decided to just bite her lip and stay as adamant as ever, her glare barely faltering as she continued with her drag. “No. They’re mists. And if you don’t take them out, I’m going to kill you.” One would not know what was more creepy—the tranquil monotone her voice seemed to have undertaken, or the faint flurry of shadows that seemed to dance around her form, giving her a more intimidating aura than what was needed. “Now get the snake out of my closet.” With a swift tug, she managed to practically throw him into her room, hands on her waist as she gave him a downcast glare. “Go.”
Oh. Jungkook certainly did not expect that to not work. His feet dragged along unwillingly, and he was quite surprised that she had this much arm strength (although, come to think of it, he shouldn't be all that surprised at all). "Kill me?" He began to laugh nervously, knowing well enough to be rightfully scared of this particular woman scorned. "Surely, you're not gonna kill me--," The beginnings of his nervous rant ended with him stumbling into her room, and falling on his butt. And here he thought having muscle would prevent this kind of thing from happening. Sticking his tongue out at her, he refused to stop the slow crawl of worms from her ears. "Not until you give me a kiss."
It must’ve been the still-fresh cut of grief lining her young heart, but the girl did not even startle with the sight of two snakes wound around the other’s body like she would usually do. Instead, she offered him a rather blunt nod, humming once as she fetched her trolley, her other hand finding its way to grasp upon the sleeve of his jacket. ”Do you want me to shadowtravel us out or do you want to walk?” Her tone lacked her morning sweetness, but she tried her best to still speak to him with a smile. “First option is faster.”
Making sure that his wallet was in his pocket (thus, his ID and other important things), he stepped out of the room and closed the door behind him with his foot. "Shadowtravel is more efficient, I think," he answered with a small smile. Not being able to help himself, he kissed the top of her head -- a feat he surely wouldn't have been able to do had they been younger, and he, shorter. "Did you get enough rest, Lizzy?"
